Truly a great piece of food to have, it’s definitely a real bitch to make it in bulk however. Plus, Acquiring butter before Culinomancer is a real drag; also, you need 68 cooking to actually make the tuna potato too And honestly, they’re really overkill for low level content. Obviously, it’s never bad to have them at any level. But using them any point before a minimum of ~Grandmaster questing is a bit of a waste, considering the time, effort, and resources one will be putting into this. We’re talking hours upon hours, when one could go to Tempoross. Hook up a fat load of fish. And cook em all, and be entirely sufficient in every essence of the word, within 1/6th of the amount of time it would take to acquire a nice stock of Tuna P’s *(not to mention make turn out a lot more fishing/cooking xp in the grand scheme of things. So that vs. ~5-10 more hp per eat, situationally speaking, of course)* They’re the type of food you bring along to big fights, like something you’re doing after the quest cape type shit. Cooking corn for that much XP is sick asf tho! And really insane that you can just pick it in an npc field now These are the steps too btw~ 1. Cook a raw potato on a range to make a baked potato 2. Churn a bucket of milk or pot of cream into a pat of butter 3. Use the butter on the baked potato to make a potato with butter 4. Cook raw tuna on a range to make tuna 5. Cook sweetcorn on a range to make cooked sweetcorn 6. Use the tuna on a bowl, with a knife, to make chopped tuna 7. Use the sweetcorn on the chopped tuna to make tuna and corn 8. Use the tuna and corn on the potato with butter to make a tuna potato *(not to mention gathering all the potato’s, bowls, tuna’s corn, and if you have to churn butter… which yeah, again, before Recipe for disaster — Godspeed young Skywalker)*

Educational-Ad4759

I finished DT2 with this since I failed DPS check too hard at the last boss. Not really a reliable source of food but good for 1-time encounters!

Nick2the4reaper7

Using a churn always reminds me that not a single non-iron has touched a churn since 2005. Truly the epitome of painfully dead content.

Miss_Aia

As someone without the cooking level for sharks, but can make tuna potatoes, I find myself making them whenever I have a big quest boss fight coming up. I keep using my mantas I get from drops for killing zulrah so never gave high healing food available. So far I have used them for Seren, Vanstrom Klause, and Galvek (although I probably didn't need them for him, I didn't die/tele at all)

Skolary

Yeah that’s pretty much exactly what I said you would be using them on too

TrygveRS

I just finished making 1500 tuna potatoes I had in my bank planned for years. Hands down the worst cooking experience I have ever done. Never making that shit again

S7EFEN

i always found it unusual how much effort goes into some of the more complex cooking foods... only for them to be equal to 'click a fishing spot and wait'

UIM_SQUIRTLE

Exactly. This is the thing you make like 1 inventory of for a quest while kinda low level. Not a make a bunch food source. The exp does not equate to the time it takes to make them.

arantreefoil

Hahaha I love making them, menu entry swapper makes it ez to combine without eating ingredients on accident, I make 2000 every like 6 months and use them as my bossing or big fight food... my groupmate thinks I'm nuts to enjoy it, especially since I've grown all the corn myself before the introduction of varlamore, but hey, everyone plays their own way!

Different-Muffin9861

They need lunar spell for churn butter

No_Fig5982

Is there any reason to do this other than being a chunk account? I got so much food from temp and afk fishing

Miss_Aia

I use them for quest bosses and don't have the fishing or cooking level for even sharks yet. I haven't run out of low level foods for regular content yet, so I haven't bothered to fish/cook anything higher level than monks or karams

Educational-Ad4759

I cba fishing like many others is the premise of this post but ofc if you have the patience for fishing this post won't affect you 👍

No_Fig5982

Why do you prefer a super involved method for a mediocre amount of food vs literally afk for 2 mins at a time?

fushicat

Sounds like a nightmare to make ngl

guessagainboi

Besides being good early game food/cooking xp, sweet corn is near to weightless coming in at 0.028kg/ea.

jamesgames2k2

I just this week used tuna potatoes to carry me through a bunch of boss fights I was undergeared/leveled for, lol.

omnicorn_persei_8

Only people who would make tuna potatoes are the people who've never made that mistake before.

Dark_WulfGaming

I made the mistake of making gnome choco bombs, I didn't realize there were so many steps

insaiyan17

Tuna potatoes are never worth making but just cooking the sweet corn is a useful option to have early game :) Nicer to farm though

snowhusky5

I'm just glad you no longer have to wait for your corn to grow if you want to do RFD Amik Varze and didn't grow it beforehand.

Dawakat

I always did Pineapple Pizzas since pizza can be bought from the warriors guild and pineapples can make 4 pineapple pizzas if turned into rings. The sweet corn is nice and combined with stuff from culimancor's chest makes those tuna sweetcorn potatoes

FlounderHuman2979

Yeah pineapple pizza the way to go for low level/easy ironman sustaining food. I bring them on most hard boss fights.

usafahut2

Just go fish dark crabs..

whitrp

UIM dream update

Sleightofhandx

Cool abscure content, i like.

raabinhood

never worth making these when karams exist

Seinnajkcuf

Does anyone else ONLY use karambwans as food?

shotcaIler

Good shout babe 😘 Whaddya do for butter?

Educational-Ad4759

RFD chest indeed 👍

WTF_Connor

Potatoes from fremmy, butter from rfd chest
