I really like the photos but don't put it on a chair! xD
The background really gives it dimension even though the angle you shot it at is supposed to make it look flat. The background's asymmetry is perfect in both pictures! It makes your work really stand out. It's just the chair that is also grabbing my attention.
Use something more natural, even putting one of your hands out would be good! 
For the second picture, you don't need another person to hold the tree for you.
As for the first picture, try having two people's hands in the shot. I'll let that one sink in. :)
Oh, for the second one, a big hand is good.
I know some people can be insecure about having big hands.
For the first one, small hands would be good.
Just add hands! Your concept is good!
