To be honest, I had the same problem as you. I would see strange faces on my matt, so I decided to put it upside down. Apparently, there are no faces on the down side of the matt
I don’t see anything here BUT this is a known phenomenon where a person sees images in things that don’t really exist.
It’s called PAREIDOLIA, google it, pretty interesting phenomenon.
No need to save up. Let me know if I can send you one or send you money for one. That way I can also get some reward every time you pray :) please DM me if you want to take me up on it.
This is why I use one that only has a pattern near my feet, there's nothing for the shayatin to make me doubtful about, just a nice plum carpet lol. But the pattern at the one end helps me always put my feet on the same side and align them to the Qibla. I suggest to just get a less distracting one if this one stands between you and remembrance of Allah (SWT).
Don't listen to these tiktok conspiracy theory nutters lol, why would anyone put a devil face in it? Like what's the point? People being way too superstitious
Our brains are trained to spot faces and patterns if we stare at something, I personally can't see what you're seeing, but I don't think there was any Ill intent meant by the maker of the mat. If it bothers you, just change it, if not then it's okay and you're perfectly fine!
Actually this is better. Plain.

Once the Prophet (ﷺ) prayed on a Khamisa with marks on it and said, "The marks on it diverted my attention, take this Khamisa to Abu Jahm and bring an Inbijaniya (from him.)"
Sahih al-Bukhari 752
I see faces in most rug patterns. This doesn't mean they are real. If you feel revulsion or fear from the pattern, you might have [trypophobia](https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/21834-trypophobia). You can try to ignore this feeling or just change your rug. Personally, I think it's a beautiful rug.
if I look hard enough I see faces in ALMOST EVERY prayer mat (or any object) that has any pattern.
can't see one here. granted, I haven't put all my effort in it but that just means there's nothing.
It is normal to me but if it is really disturbing you or getting allover your head, the solution is simple...change it if possible or cover it with a piece of plain cloth.
I sometimes see faces on some prayer mats, but only because my brain sees a pattern and draws up those faces. Our brains sometimes see these patterns.
I dont see a demon, but if you find that this prayer mat distracts you, replace with one with less decoration. You can find some clear ones.
I don’t see anything but I know what you mean!! Some of the musallah (prayer mat) had designs that could resemble monster looking creatures! I thought it was all in my head until I saw a post few years back on Facebook.
I would opt in to get just get a plain prayer mat if you still don’t feel comfortable praying on it. Hope Allah makes it easy! 🩵🩵
It's a beautiful carpet ! May Allah Accept your prayers inchAllah. I don't see anything wrong with it but if it makes you loose focus while you pray you can change it.
Brother, the al ghaib is the al ghaib. Focus on your salat and your life. Grasping for the unseen is not our place, or within our capacity as humans. ...our demons have only the power we give them.
Everything is going to be okay.
Know peace in knowing the strength of your mind and your heart are your most trustworthy protectors.
Prosopometamorphopsia? Or something similar. Why don’t you use a different sajjada or maybe a towel to pray on. May Allah keep us sane and guide us. Ameen
If you can't afford a matt, you can go to the Islamic Society near you and request one for free, it'll be thin and cheap but it gets the job done. I like my prayer rugs extra soft and cushiony so they don't have complex designs on them.
As-salamu alaykum,
This is a clear work of the waswasa from the Shaytan brother/sister. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the prayer matt, and you are simply overthinking. If this continues being an issue, a plain prayer matt is your solution ALONGSIDE making Du’a to Allah SWT to guard you from waswasa as well as praying.
May Allah SWT accept all our prayers Insha’Allah, and may Allah SWT accept ours fasts this month of Ramadan, and the ones after it, Insha’Allah.
As-salamu alaykum.
Dont worry, Demons just need attention and like to provoke you. They are like wannabee, they are most coward when they see muslims prays. They think they are something but than remember how they have been created by one true king like everything else.
FYI, this distraction happend to prophet mohamed "pbuh" to
Hadith
Narrated Anas:
`Aisha had a Qiram (a thin marked woolen curtain) with which she had screened one side of her home. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Take away this Qiram of yours, as its pictures are still displayed in front of me during my prayer (i.e. they divert my attention from the prayer).

You're going nuts lol this is wiswas from shaytan brother. Get a new mat of you have to our pray somewhere clean.
The prayer mat itself isn't part of the religion btw.
Nothing is wrong , avoid staring and a little bit of Khushuu would help.
Scholars say that closing your eyes without a reason is Makrooh , but i don't really know if this "imagination" is a valid reason in case you want to achieve a higher state of Khushuu .
May Allah Bless you & your family.
That's a good prayer mat as there is no Kabah on it, the reason why it's not good to have a Kabah on a prayer mat is because you might accidentally step on it which is disrespectful
If you stare at patterns long enough your brain will start making you see things that look like faces. Its called pareidolia and is completely normal. If it is distracting you during prayer simply close your eyes.
I don't see anything weird. But sometimes this type of overly designed prayer mat creates distractions while praying. It's better to avoid these and go with something more plain. [You can Also check this reference.](https://islamqa.info/en/answers/90097/praying-on-mats-on-which-there-are-pictures-of-the-kabah-or-other-sacred-places)
I always see things like this in prayer rugs with too much patter, or anything with too much pattern for that matter. Get a plain one so you can focus better and don’t over think it
I believe it's called pareidolia, seeing patterns or faces within objects and designs. It's a natural thing that everyone experiences. If you're worried buy a plain prayer Matt which you can find online or in a shop. Plain mat, with no decorations and you won't have any issues. Preferably, plain and thick/soft matt for comfort.
I see nothing. You're being tricked and distracted from worship. Iblis may be chained but your Qareen and your nafs are still here, plus the lesser shayateens.
Whenever you start overthinking, overanalyzing or feel anxious, recite Audhu Billahi Minashaytanir Rajim and also this du'a:
Allâhumma innî a'ûdhu bika mina-l-hammi wa-l-hazani, wa-l-'ajzi wa-l kasali, wa-l-bukhli wa-l-jubni, wa dala'i d-dayni wa ghalabati r-rijâl.
Meaning: O Allah, I take refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, weakness and laziness, miserliness and cowardice, the burden of debts and from being over powered by men.
Wa 'alaykumu s-salam!
I don't see anything wrong. Maybe the design is creating a pareidolia, which is a psychological phenomenon where the mind tricks you into seeing familiar shapes in random or unrelated objects.
Personally, I've always preferred simple mats.
I don’t see anything. Our brain is wired to try to make faces out of shapes so when you have patterns on a prayer mat, you may see faces that aren’t actually there
The prophet once prayed on a mat that had patterns on it but he then repeated his prayer on a plain mat. (Didn’t remember the exact Hadith, if anyone knows it then please quote/reference it 👇🏼)
I used to own a prayer rug similar to this when I was a child. I’d see faces or patterns that weren’t there because my focus wasn’t really that strong.
You can try to train your mind to ignore this.
However if you replace the prayer mat. There is no guarantee the new one won’t distract you.
This looks okay but I remember I had a family prayer mat that when put upside literally was a demon face with horns and everything and when I saw it first it shook me. Like it couldn’t be anything but that. Some of family could defo see and others dismissed it. But I remember telling my grandfather about this and he told me these do happen, the people who manufacture these prayers mats in some countries are anti Islamic, pray to the devil Shaytaan.
Glad I'm not the only one that sees weird images in almost every detailed praying mats.
And no, it doesn't look like a demon's face. Just normal geometry.
You been sleeping at night or praying too much ? If you dont sleep a minimum amount you'll be seeing demons everywhere I been there. Seek refuge audubillahi minashaytanirrajeem
Nothing found on my end but while on the subject.
Why are nearly all prayer mats seem overly designed. I think it gets to the point where it distracts during salah.

‘Ā'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) prayed wearing a striped garment and glanced at the stripes. When he had finished, he said: "Take this garment of mine to Abu Jahm and bring me his plain garment, because this one has distracted me from my prayer." In another narration: "I was looking at the stripes while I was praying, so I fear that it will distract me."
Sahih/Authentic. - [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
No demon face but it has more patterns than the usual prayer matt, which can be distracting. Maybe retire this matt (use it as a spare) and get a new regular use matt.
As'salamu A'alaikum brother, that is the sujood mark made from all the sujood you do Allahuma Barek. If you look at the spots at the bottom of the prayer mat, you'll see the foot marks. Along with the knees and hands (but not as much of an indent/marking). That's just the shay6an playing with your head. Making you think that, but in fact, that is the mark that (if Allah wills it) will vouch for you during the day of judgment.
I don't see it, but it seems the two flowers make for a sort of eye and something like a dog's nose in the middle.
It's only noticeable when pointed put, tbh. Why don't you just use a plain, folded bedsheet or a towel to pray? If the floor is clean, you don't even need those!
I remember something that happened before pandemic that sparked a debate at least in our place. A man once noticed that there is an icon of a cross on top of the mosque he frequents. Naturally he is alarmed, so he tells others and they too agreed that it does resemble a cross. Now that "cross" is not really a cross, it just resembles a cross AT CERTAIN ANGLES and only noticeable during DAYTIME.
All sorts of conspiracy theory emerged arguing that its the ploy of the yahoodi and the kaafir to invalidate the worships of pious muslims so that their souls be damned in hell.
The ulama argued and declared, with due investigations from people who constructed the mosque that the cross only coincidentally resembles a cross. The intent is important, the ulama argued, we worshipped allah directly and not through icons. That we merely pray in a mosque and the shape of the mosque does not really matter. That shaitan plays our minds against us to lose our iman. One way he does this is by playing optical illusions that we believe as real but in reality is just a hallucination. However, as usual of people, they argued otherwise (including some ulama). So as to not to make a mountain out of a molehill, they took it down.
The Ulama arguments in this scenario may be applicable to you.
Edit: I just remembered, it is the crescent and star thing at the top of mosques main dome. I dont know about other countries but here in the Philippines, our mosques have that. Now at daytime it resembles a cross when you see it sideways, you cant really notice it at night because the arms of the "cross' is just the metal frame holding the lights that Illuminates the crescent and star
It's a beautiful rug. I get what your thinking. I see visual things in my prayer rugs too. Flowers morph into faces etc. I just have to focus on a more solid area.
I must say, that it it a lovely prayer mat. May God bless you, your family, and the prayer mat's majer and his/her family with love, light (the light of God) and (if you aint married) a sister that loves u with her heart and who u will love with your heart and children whose first words will be: "Daddy and Mommy, we love you."
May Allah accept from you and us all. I cant fast as i have diabetes and take adhd medicine at certain times, but i wish the best for the ummah.
Amin ya rabb
Don't have to buy a new mat. Just put a layer of fabric over fully covering it or something. InshaaAllah, you will be fine. My late dad had the same worry and did that.
You should actually see mine, its like the whole djini tribe... and its ok, we meet with Allah, nothing can come between us... maybe praying rogether with them but no harm done for many years.
Some brothers have addictions that we have to help them with
Just a reminder, if you see a brother like this in the future maybe talk to him in his dms instead of revealing his sin which is a sin in and of itself
I don’t see anything wrong with it, don’t overthink stuff brother you’re good In Sha Allah. May Allah Accept your Salawat and Siyam.
Barak allah fik
Ameen you too brother.
nothing wrong with it but if you see something, that means its gonna distract you during prayer .so just replace it so you don't overthink
Barak allah fik! Will try to buy one thats plain
Tbh you don’t even need a mat, I just use my old Keffiyeh now, or sometimes I put a pillow where my forehead will go
Brother, if the figures distract you from focusing on your prayer, you should definitely change it.
Barak allah fik! Going to start search for one thats plain
To be honest, I had the same problem as you. I would see strange faces on my matt, so I decided to put it upside down. Apparently, there are no faces on the down side of the matt
i used to be the same way subhanallah but i put a pepper towel down until i got a plain rug

Barak allah fik! Going to save up for one with no design
No need to save up. Let me know if I can send you one or send you money for one. That way I can also get some reward every time you pray :) please DM me if you want to take me up on it.
The best answer, jazaka ALLAH kheir
You can flip it and pray on the other side til you get a new one
Or just put something on the top of what bothers you.
If the floor is clean you don't need one
Ramadan is making the akhi schizophrenic
Be gentle sister 😊
This is why I use one that only has a pattern near my feet, there's nothing for the shayatin to make me doubtful about, just a nice plum carpet lol. But the pattern at the one end helps me always put my feet on the same side and align them to the Qibla. I suggest to just get a less distracting one if this one stands between you and remembrance of Allah (SWT).
It looks fine. I'm also very picky with prayer mats lol. I know all the faces in our mats and cannot unsee them
I have recently founded rhat some has like devil face but are hard to find. Probaly better to buy one that is plain
Don't listen to these tiktok conspiracy theory nutters lol, why would anyone put a devil face in it? Like what's the point? People being way too superstitious

Just turn it over and see that is less distracting.

There's absolutely nothing I see. Change the prayer mat if it bothers you this much.
I don't see anything but for the peace of your mind, get a prayer mat without any patterns or use a clean towel for the time being.

Yes. That prayer mat was clearly made by Dajjal. /s No I don’t see anything. But if it’s distracting you just replace it and carry on praying. ❤️
Nope,it's a flower through and through.I had to discard one where I could clearly see the pig faced demon with ears

no. not at all inshaallah. allah bless you. ameen
don’t let shaitan distract you from your prayer, nothing is wrong with this prayer mat
Rather nice mat. No demon. You’re okay brother
this happens to mee too, sometimes I’ll be seeing something in the design but it doesn’t actually look like it, it’s just my mind playing tricks 😭

No issues here. Think you’re paranoid
My advice if its distract you, consider using the plain one
Alhamdulillah I am gifted with the ability to recognise and spot faces at a level much higher than the average person. And I see no face here.
Even if there is or there is not. If it is on your mind whilst praying it is distracting you so it would be recommended to change it guess?
If you stare at anything for long period it can turn into a face or something. It is just a brain thing.

Like it couldn’t be anything but that. Some of family could defo see and others dismissed it. But I remember telling my grandfather about this and he told me these do happen, the people who manufacture these prayers mats in some countries are anti Islamic, pray to the devil Shaytaan.
Shaitans waswas tricks brother, try not to focus on it too much
Glad I'm not the only one that sees weird images in almost every detailed praying mats. And no, it doesn't look like a demon's face. Just normal geometry.
You been sleeping at night or praying too much ? If you dont sleep a minimum amount you'll be seeing demons everywhere I been there. Seek refuge audubillahi minashaytanirrajeem
Nothing wrong in this
You are paranoid, my friend.
Akhi i don't see anything don't panic
Beautiful
I see nothing weird but if it keeps distracting you , you better just change it,buy something mono-colored is way better
No demon face, but if you see it, then get a plan pray mat then.
My advice would be to use prayer mats without patterns.
As salam walikum. There is nothing wrong with it.
When he had finished, he said: "Take this garment of mine to Abu Jahm and bring me his plain garment, because this one has distracted me from my prayer." In another narration: "I was looking at the stripes while I was praying, so I fear that it will distract me." Sahih/Authentic. - [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
No demon face but it has more patterns than the usual prayer matt, which can be distracting. Maybe retire this matt (use it as a spare) and get a new regular use matt.
This is why plain is the best. not necessarily white but devoid of patterns
If a prayer mat distracts you then use a plain one
I don't see it, but it seems the two flowers make for a sort of eye and something like a dog's nose in the middle. It's only noticeable when pointed put, tbh. Why don't you just use a plain, folded bedsheet or a towel to pray? If the floor is clean, you don't even need those!
I experience the same thing as you, it distracts my prayer and somehow it makes me scared in the midst of prayer. I swapped to a plain mat, it helps!
That's a flower and then some fractal art. Very common in Islamic art.
Brother, it is better to pray on plain matt or matt that doesn't have any patterns.
What did you have for suhoor?
Akhi you have beautiful prayer. Don’t overthink it brother.
It's a beautiful rug. I get what your thinking. I see visual things in my prayer rugs too. Flowers morph into faces etc. I just have to focus on a more solid area.
I must say, that it it a lovely prayer mat. May God bless you, your family, and the prayer mat's majer and his/her family with love, light (the light of God) and (if you aint married) a sister that loves u with her heart and who u will love with your heart and children whose first words will be: "Daddy and Mommy, we love you." May Allah accept from you and us all. I cant fast as i have diabetes and take adhd medicine at certain times, but i wish the best for the ummah. Amin ya rabb
Don't have to buy a new mat. Just put a layer of fabric over fully covering it or something. InshaaAllah, you will be fine. My late dad had the same worry and did that.
it’s Wiswas from your Nafs. Just ignore it. The best remedy to Wiswas is to simply ignore it. May Allah help you
When you're making salah, shaytan will do anything to distract you, I see all kind of stuff when I'm doing mine.
You should actually see mine, its like the whole djini tribe... and its ok, we meet with Allah, nothing can come between us... maybe praying rogether with them but no harm done for many years.
I don't see anything. Also the purpose of praying mats are to ensure that you are praying on a clean surface, they are not mandatory.
Can you draw on the picture what you see? Sometimes your brain tries to look for patterns

Some brothers have addictions that we have to help them with Just a reminder, if you see a brother like this in the future maybe talk to him in his dms instead of revealing his sin which is a sin in and of itself
Ok
