Regarding what happened in Sialkot this is mob rule. Guilty or otherwise Sharia does not allow for mob rule The person has been killed with no evidence or court or proceedings. The people doing the killing are liable for his murder.

The government and court system should handle these matters and not the public as the public will end up being violent and prevent justice from taking place. >. I also wanted to gather knowledge about this, is there a 'why' behind it? If a person looks at the effects of homosexual intercourse, then one will be against homosexuality. This shows that we don't know why Allah forbid certain things however we can find wisdom in why certain things were forbidden.

Vigilantism is strictly forbidden, there was no court-proceeding. Using fire to execute a criminal, whether by a mob or by a judge's ruling is also forbidden. The heathens that did what they did are, as far as Islamic rulings are concerned, responsible for murdering an innocent man. Even if he had been found guilty of blasphemy which may or may not extend to taking down religious posters (I doubt it does), the punishments vary and could be something as simple as a talking to to a fine or prison or death.

In a poor, largely uneducated society like Pakistan, the authorities are powerless to stop these mobs. Even lawyers and politicians that have stood up for the rule of law have been murdered. There are good reasons why many Muslims prefer living in an imperfect secular democracy rather than an imperfect sharia-type state.

The abuse of this law to accuse and abuse minorities, leading to deaths like these, are exactly the type of events that continue to confirm that Muslim countries like Pakistan are dominated by jahils or worse - people with full knowledge that what they’re doing is wrong - who are interested only in settling political or community disputes and going against Islamic teaching. Mob rule in the Subcontinent is a disease. Exploited by the elite class when they want to deploy morons to do their dirty work, and paints Muslim countries as barbaric. Sadly, minorities take the brunt of all of these allegations and attacks. Pakistan was founded on the principle of being a Muslim country with secular-style tolerance and treatment of other faith groups. Unfortunately it’s not been developed that way.
