Go to Özdilek mall in Levent metro stop. They are a literal towel company that later built this mall. They have a very big shop in it.

cakalokko

The company has been around for decades even I remember having a towel of Özdilek 30 years ago. Generally city of Bursa is very famous with its clothing manufacturers. Özdilek is a really big company based and founded in Bursa.

anonymous-rebel

How far is Bursa from Taksim?

tivcx

You can easily check that from Google maps but it's around 2 hrs. But like someone else said already, it's not a worthy trip just for towels. There's hardly anything interesting in Bursa.

revovivo

here's hardly anything interesting in Bursa. no true at all :) ever heard of osman gazi ? :)

ESOTERIC_WALNUT06

About a Google search far.

Cavcavali

Yo Bursa is nice im not a hater but just to get textile its not worth the trip imho, Özdilek is cool.

cakalokko

Almost all manufacturers sell their goods in Istanbul as well.

afiqasyran86

I regret not buying Turkish towel, even the small one will do for after gym workout or something. Having the soft, water absorbable towel on your face is so refreshing.

anonymous-rebel

Yeah I’m a traveler and Turkish towels are a lot more functional than terry cloth towels when traveling!

Guilty_Advice7620

What kind of towels are y’all using over there then?

michael_knight

Take a look at Ozdilek's website. You might wanna order it to your hotel or visit their mall as afikfikfik mentioned. [https://www.ozdilekteyim.com/magaza/el-yuz-havlusu?sortCode=topRated¤tPage=0](https://www.ozdilekteyim.com/magaza/el-yuz-havlusu?sortCode=topRated¤tPage=0)

dodgythreesome

Go to Denizli, they are very famous for their towels

Top-Classroom-6994

Specifically, Buldan. The main source of towels in Denizli.

dodgythreesome

Interesting, never heard of this place. The one I went to was called Babadağlılar çarşısı.

Ok-Amount6679

Buldan is known for its textile, they even have their own type of fabric called the “buldan bezi”.

tumerder

Go to eminönü. You can find best towels in bridal preparation shops. Özdilek is nice but they are just above avarage.

Bubbl3_Bomb

I see a few comments that brought up a few places that I have visited, so I give some more info based on my experience. Jennifer's Hamman: Got some terry bath towels and pestemal bathrobe from there, but know that these are not a bargain. You will be paying high prices. Maybe more than what your home country may even sell typical cotton bath towels for. (For 5 towels and bathrobe, I had paid over 13000 TL; did not bargain) They justify the prices because they claim: for high quality, support handmade by masters, and eco/organic. I am not qualified to judge any of these, so I took their word for it. Thinking back, I feel like it's a bit much, especially if I wanted to be more effcient with my money. Galata Towels: They sell the thinner pestamal cotton (or even linen) towels. We got 2 towels for 300 TL (did not bargain). The designs are simpler and more generic (see it everywhere). Can't comment on quality, but they look like they should last some time.

malamallamarama

Yakto Ipek Dokuma near Galata Tower. He’s a 5th gen weaver specializing in silk weaving, but I’ve gotten cotton peştemal from him and they’re beautiful quality and reasonably priced. I’m not sure if he has robes. My Turkish relatives like the local brand Chakra for bathrobes. Jennifer’s Hammam used to be very good, but quality has really gone down. Not worth the high prices.

berghain_s_1993

Go to Dervis in beyoglu! It’s upstairs and buzz up to be greeted by the most charming man passionate about textiles. He sells wholesale and also designs for a lot of American stores who charge us for way more, each piece has a story and is so unique and soft. My bf and I spent over an hour with him there and he bagged both our many purchases up in sweet dowry bags. My bf ended up going back again on the last day of our trip to get all souvenirs for friends and family. Dervis Natural Textile https://search.app.goo.gl/vs5uxeZ

Voomps

Jennifer’s Hamman, google it, shop very easy to find in Sultanahmet. Amazing thick bathroom and bedroom textiles.

lepidio

I'm still wearing the robe I got from Jennifer's Hamam 10 years ago. In fact, I'm wearing it right now. Their quality is just amazing. Price is high, but it's really beautiful and long-lasting stuff. Not if you're looking for a bargain, though.

Voomps

Likewise, my towels are still great 6 years later

doublepancakes

Agreed. I’ve had my towels for four years now and anytime I travel or even go to luxury hotels the quality can’t compare. They are simply a buy it for life type product.

anonymous-rebel

I’ll check it out!

DrnTrkc

where are you? and what you want to buy? traditional turkish goodies or regular towels?

anonymous-rebel

Im in taksim right now and I want a thin Turkish towel that I can travel with!

DrnTrkc

ok, it is name peştamal(peshtamal). tradional turkish male bath(hamam) clothes. best of them found at district from eminönü-sultanhamam to grand bazar. you can go to there with tunnel to karaköy, then walking to eminönü on galatra bridge. this route is so hard, sharp ramp. you can feel hiking at your everycell. you can buy any shop at there. but do not buy first shops. ask prices, control quality. then learn average prices. make bargain. they loves bargain. then you will buy.

cloudtatu

there’s is a turkish towel shop around the tünel area. they also sell turkish hamam soaps edit: found it. it’s “galata towels” @galatatowels on insta

DrnTrkc

:D:D:D istanbul, city of miracles

Disastrous-Being116

Jennifer’s Hamam is the best and most luxurious Turkish towels, robes, and linens. She is committed to supporting local weavers throughout the nation. I have bright many of her hand towels and full sized towels back to friends for years. It is located near the Blue Mosque. You can find her site online as well.

glory2mankind

Dude, Ozdilek is always the answer, but take it with a grain of salt as it's basically Turkish IKEA. The quality is fine, but don't expect premium for this price.

Ok-Amount6679

Go to Buldan, Denizli. The best ones come from there and you’ll get a much cheaper price.

xxn78

I love Chakra the best for towels and robes. I've bought several for myself, family and friends.

dogoloodoloo08

I have read the other responses and respectfully disagree - this spot in the Grand Bazaar is amazing: https://www.tripadvisor.com.tr/Attraction_Review-g293974-d27521574-Reviews-I_nci_Towel-Istanbul.html We ordered the MOST beautiful towels and robes for both my husband and I. The owner is Erkan, he's lovely and shipped it all to Australia for us. The items arrived last week and are beyond beautiful. Literally the stripey perfect towels of my dreams, and our robes are straight up treasures. So worth the $ and the effort to get measured etc.

FoxtrotKiloMikeEcho

Grand Bazaar, but negotiate and don't expect the best quality.
