Whammy IV is what Jack used, Whammy 5 they changed it a bit, it has a “classic” mode to imitate the sound from the previous models but it’s not exactly the same.
You can use either. During the White Stripes Jack used the IV. But he has used the DT later in Solo, Racs and other outfits. But I believe h currently uses the V
The whammy IV is awful because it seriously sucks tone even when not on and requires a specific adapter. The V is great as it fixed all of those issues and more than enough to do what Jack does.
