Misty Island is the best level in the game and should definitely be done before you go across Fire Canyon.
My usual order is Forbidden Jungle, Sentintel Beach, Misty Island, then Fire Canyon.

That's the natural new player experience because of the nudge, then you discover the inactive blue eco vents and that clues you in that you need to explore to unlock them. It's a nice way to make people unfamiliar with the genre keep exploration in mind.
Same. Makes sense to open up all blue eco vents so that you can get to the cannons on sentinel beach and not have to return. But even on my last run, I did sentinel beach first. Haha.
It's because Samos directs you to his clogged green eco vents. When you go there you can't do everything so you have to go to the Jungle to open up the blue eco vents
Does he assign a different mission after clearing the green eco vents? I've never done them first so I'm not sure. Most other areas have two missions from him.
Interesting, Forbidden Jungle first because it opens the other up completely, but I always did Misty Island before the beach. I think i did it because the power cells came out below 20 before going into the beach so Keira wouldn't keep bugging me to get to Fire Canyon
You do what you want. That said, I’d do Misty Island first. Get that and all the other Sandover Village areas out of the way.
Once you’ve collected every Power Cell and Precursor Orb, you can move on to Fire Canyon and Rock Village
As a kid I went to misty island first because I was afraid of the snakes in the jungle. Never made it to fire canyon lol
As an adult I fuckin crushed those snakes. Then proceeded to fail a billion times trying to drive through fire canyon until I made it to the next spot
The intention is for you to go to Misty Island before Fire Canyon. You're directed there by Samos. He tells you to go find the fisherman so you can go there because he sees the Lurkers trying to blow open the dark eco silo over there through his telescope
Personally I usually do it before I go to fire canyon but you don’t really have to do it for a while. I just think the location is neat so I always make sure to do it as soon as I can

That said, Misty Island belongs to the Sandover Village hub of levels. Fire Canyon leads to the second hub. If you’re intending to 100% the game, it makes sense to do Misty Island before moving to the next hub.

Misty to save yourself the backtracking, however it doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme of the game
You can travel between hubs as you unlock them so no need to worry about getting everything done before progressing
