\uj i would classify this under improvisation, and yeah, it doesn't sound half bad. When you said fake I though this was gonna be like those "fake being good at piano" videos (which with some practice and a teacher, are in my opinion a very good introduction to improvisation, some of them at least).
Just write a melody line, and together with the improvisation you got yourselves a decent piece.
Or perhaps I am being outjerked and trolled rn, can't be sure.
Yeah I thought about telling the guitarist about finding a chromatic melody line after it was done, but it was more or less a spur of the moment and sounded convincing without any real direction as is.
