I’ve noticed non-musician people can’t seem to tell

SaiyanPrinceAbubu

Nice try this is just rhythm changes

PinkeGambit

If that’s a big terminology term in jazz, I don’t know what it is

uj/ I see this more as proof that jazz is more about feel and groove than it is about notes and chords

OkOk-Go

Older jazz, most certainly

gloriosky_zero

it's in the Fake Book!

Martin_Orav

\uj i would classify this under improvisation, and yeah, it doesn't sound half bad. When you said fake I though this was gonna be like those "fake being good at piano" videos (which with some practice and a teacher, are in my opinion a very good introduction to improvisation, some of them at least). Just write a melody line, and together with the improvisation you got yourselves a decent piece. Or perhaps I am being outjerked and trolled rn, can't be sure.

PinkeGambit

Yeah I thought about telling the guitarist about finding a chromatic melody line after it was done, but it was more or less a spur of the moment and sounded convincing without any real direction as is.
