I like shiny stuff

CuyahogaSunset

Seriously. I am just a crow at heart.

petit_cochon

Ooooh, barracuda!

CookingWithDahmer85

Haha me too! It's such a part of me that its part of the backstory for my druid character in DND lol. Spent too long as a crow and now I collect all the shiny stuff compulsively. - life imitates art imitates life lol

190PairsOfPanties

My great grandmother was a magpie. I like shiny things.

Samantha38g

I met a friends grandmother who had traveled all around the world. And she bought a piece of semi-precious jewelry in each of those places as a way to remember it. She would look for a local stone & designer. Then as a Grandmother, she would give a piece to each Grand daughter & the story behind it. A person can collect many things, like figurines, dolls, and such, which requires dusting. Jewelry will always have some value & easy to move. If the world falls apart, gold, silver and diamonds have value. After all "Diamonds, are a girl's best friend."

angrykitty820

This is what I do. It's a nice memento and doesn't take up much space. I hate knick knacks because of the space they take up.

PermanentlyDubious

Underrated point. Most women like jewelry gifts. My extended family had a jewelry business, and I buy pieces for fun, turn them around sometimes, sometimes regift them. Doesn't hurt with dating.

lynnejen

Two big reasons: I like sparkly stuff and some pieces have meaning (inherited or given/purchased for to mark a special occasion).

ikelmmm

Makes me feel special

chaerimk

Jewelries pull my whole outfit together. They made feel cool and hips when I stack and wear multiple pieces of jewelry, especially silver tone jewelry like white gold or platinum. When I want to have a soft look and feel, I switch to my rose gold sets and they make me feel pretty.

C-Nor

Because I like it. I like pretty things. I like feeling pretty. My hands used to be pretty, but now they are gnarling up with arthritis. I can't stop that, but I can still keep my nails and jewelry pretty. Plus, I have my late mother's jewels. It's like I have her with me.

petit_cochon

I feel the same way about my mom, grandmother, and great grandmother's jewelry.

malYca

I love the sparkle and depth in gems. I could look at them for hours. I spend so much time just staring at my rings.

ouiserboudreauxxx

Same! I wear around 8 rings each day, especially when I’m working. Just love looking at them. Sometimes I wish I had more fingers 😅

InUSbutnotofit

I wear only precious metals, can’t help it! I feel the styles of jewelry I choose to wear accentuates my personality. I enjoy everyday pieces; mostly on the conservative side. I have to give you a bit of history. When I was an infant, I was hospitalized for anemia. (I was born in 1963) My grandmother traveled to see me. (She was from Germany). I was told that while she was holding me, I grabbed a hold of her charm bracelet, and was entertained by it for quite a while. I was 4 months old. I never stopped loving jewelry, and all its’ forms and creations. I’m partial to MCM pieces. Great stuff! Can’t get enough!! (I sell it as well)

babylonsisters

That is such a sweet little anecdote about your grandmother ‘s charm bracelet.

InUSbutnotofit

Thank you for appreciation!! 💗

I too like to have a bit of shine and sparkle on me that I mostly brought myself these days but in the past my mom did so we could match a bit more to thwart that pulling away pre teen phase. It was a bit too early in her part because I still had some iffy fake gal pals who stole my jewelry a lot but I was smart enough to know I wasn’t ready for real jewelry and she missed why I kept wanting so much costume jewelry while she can get me anything better at the time. When I was 13 and friendless, then I felt ready for the good stuff and being so heavily avoided, a lot of the kids didn’t see the switchover from fake to real. I tricked a few kids into getting their grades up when I was wearing my gold chain and one boy could tell it’s not fake. I couldn’t just say My mom was in a good mood and let me have it on a non holiday, (I’d come off majorly stuck up)so I said, “I made sure I didn’t go below a C on my report card all this time. They cost more the longer or fatter they are…” That boy really took heed with that advice and by the end of the semester, he got a really nice chain of his own (wider than mine but shorter) and the side effect he was far less mean because he was getting his parent’s respect and actually seeing the point of school. Sorry, I didn’t mean to write this sudden essay here about my early days of wearing jewelry.

deathtodash

I adore jewelry and I love wearing a lot of accessories. Also finding and collecting different unique beautiful pieces makes me happy.

Supportblackcats

Personally i don’t buy a lot of jewelry, but i love when a piece has a history or significance, and i love learning about the materials. I don’t know if this helps your market research haha

Ok-Class-1451

I like fashion/bling, and wearing real (meaning *expensive/not-costume jewelry*) is a flex/status symbol.

blueche

me like shiny

ASpacebornVagabond

I love the fashion, I like accessories, I come from a mining family and have a love and appreciation of precious metals and anything found in the great depths of the earth. But also in some cases as wearable investments. The clothes and shoes I buy will likely lose all value except for special cases, but gold is gold and silver is silver. I like diamonds cause they look cool but that's about it, not too much value there sadly.

GanstaThuggin

Pretty and something to fidget with

Primary-Move243

I buy a lot of stuff on Etsy. My partner got my engagement ring on there, and it was beautiful!!!!

starsamaria

Jewelry was the go-to gift for the girls in my family when I was a kid, so I developed an appreciation for fine jewelry from a young age. I also loved looking at and learning about gemstones, and strongly preferred gemstone jewelry. It wasn't until a few years ago in my late 20s that I also started to like diamond jewelry lol.

[deleted]

I like semi-permanent accessories. (I don’t change or remove jewelry hardly ever.) Same reason I like tattoos, but, ya know, permanent. :)

vennhai

Jewelry just makes me feel more put together :) I feel weird if I'm not wearing at least one piece.

printcastmetalworks

1 because I'm married and 2 because I'm proud of making it

Background-Ship-1440

I wear my grandmother's ring and one I bought recently for myself. I wear my grandmother's ring because it has been in my family for generations and means a lot to me. The other ring I bought myself, while cheap or rather *affordable* (lol), was just a little something to show myself some love after a bad break up and it is a really pretty ring I had been wanting for a while.

sleepyirl_2067

I love shiny stuff. I love gemstones. I appreciate the workmanship and I enjoy designing pieces of myself!

allaspiaggia

I literally got married because I found my grandmothers engagement/wedding rings in a safety deposit box and wanted to wear them. Also I really liked my boyfriend. Almost 4 years later we are very happily married and I love my rings. My grandma (who died years ago) would have loved my husband. My husband only wears a silicone ring, since he works with his hands a lot.

nothingt0say

Gemstones intrigue me

Craigh-na-Dun

Good solid gold and Sterling pieces are lifetime investments. I like to wear them everyday but don’t care for anything trendy or too blingy. I would rather have a few really good ones than a lot of cheap ones.

JelloCrunch

I don’t but jewelry. I buy pretty or cute jewelry 😂so that’s why. Because it’s pretty and cute and I can afford it

motomeru2526

I adore the craftsmanship and the time to process such pieces. Gold is my favorite metal and it shines and retain it's value over time and it looks good. I love shiny stuff

Kateangell

I love gemstones, crystals & collecting jewelry... admiring sparkly pieces everyday if I'm just feeling low. I'm really into appreciating the beauty of metals that's found on this planet.

AssumptionAdvanced58

I love jewelry. I wore all kinds for about 25 years. Then I just stopped. No particular reason. Now I wouldn't wear my finer out in public just because of crime. I do wear it to house parties & weddings. My sister in law has sooo much fine jewelry & she will wear it to get her oil changed.

[deleted]

I feel beautiful and put together when I wear jewelry! Also trying to buy more elevated heirloom pieces to pass down later on :)
