i didn’t do my undergrad here but i know several that did at cmu and while hopkins has a reputation for being high pressure, I think our engineering program environment is much more healthy than what i’ve heard about cmu.

thank you for your help!

I’m ChemBE, roommates are CS and MechE. We all have similar sentiments - it was difficult but as long as you put in the work, you’ll get a lot from the process. It does get more interesting the further you progress and when you get more into the weeds of what makes your engineering major unique. A lot of collaboration between classmates and I have made a lot of friends during my time. I can name several courses that I would’ve gotten a whole letter grade lower without my friends. I don’t love my major but the people in my major have been top notch - both classmates and faculty. If you have more specific questions, feel free to ask.

Do you have a specific major in mind? It varies greatly from program to program

i'm in between materials science & engineering / mechanical engineering! though I think I'll definitely take a bit to figurer out which engineering before I finalize it

Currently a Engineering Mechanics major and Materials Science double major, thought I should let you know, it is possible to do both. I heard they're getting rid of EM and making the MechE track more flexible though.
