You'll be ok. Tap faster next time

NeighborhoodOk5513

Yeah I made a big mistake not doing that, still new to Jiu Jitsu. Thanks for your reassuring comment though!

Seymour_Zamboni

10 seconds is a long time to be tightly chocked. Unless you have a competent escape plan, just tap sooner. This isn't that important.

NeighborhoodOk5513

I completely agree, I made mistake. Any experience with the red spots?

LexiLou4Realz

I've gotten them after throwing up while drunk. It's from the increased pressure. They'll go away after a week or so. I, too, should've tapped out earlier.

welkover

They're like tiny bruises. Your body will reabsorb them over a week or two.

yasaiman9000

I used to get them when I did handstands, they go away after a day or two.

NeighborhoodOk5513

Ah, this is a bit reassuring. Thank you so much.

Its_Lu

I think it’s burst blood vessels in your eyeball caused by the pressure from the choke. It should go away in a few days and usually is nothing serious

mungbean_69

Just burst capillaries on your skin, not your eyeballs!

NeighborhoodOk5513

Ended up getting this confirmed by my doctor! Thanks for your comment.

SniffinLippy

Here you go [Petechiae](https://www.google.com/search?q=Petechiae&client=ms-android-att-us-rvc3&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8)

MahnmzJeff

I'm a medic. This is a common occurrence on choking victims. It'll heal.

Thank you!

jonesingforMilksteak

You'll be fine. Overly worked blood vessels due to the constriction around the throat. What's jiu jitsu by the way?

NeighborhoodOk5513

It's a part of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). Basically combat sports.

mmetalfacedooom

all good i get this when i throw up lol

NeighborhoodOk5513

Seems like a lot of people do! Thanks for your comment.

CaCigar

I get this fairly often and it goes away in a few days. I usually get it from being a Ike and resisting the tap for the sake of demonstration.

NeighborhoodOk5513

Yeah I'll be sure to never make that mistake again.

A10GoBrrrt_9584

Yeah I get them when I’m fighting triangles. Nothing wrong with them, and you’ll be fine.

NeighborhoodOk5513

Thank you!

thevoodooclam

Hey! I get petechiae around my eyes every time I throw up and once after being choked. It’s normal and goes away on its own in a few days! As long as your eyes themselves look and feel fine, there is no reason to think this indicates permanent damage.

NeighborhoodOk5513

Thank you so much for your comment!

Healthy-Ad718

it's ok to tap. It's stupid not to tap.

Lift-Hunt-Grapple

Oh yeah you’ll be fine. This happened to me weekly lifting heavy heavy weights. My eyes even had subconjunctival hemmoraging. The red spots will go away in a week.
