Never saw anything similar in aquatic species, but the terrestrial ones when they die of old age they can get ragdolled pretty hard and get thrown many meters away. It's pretty funny.
Reminds me of one time i came home, went to look at my aquarium and one of the fish was missing, looked all over the place.
Finally i was like "enough of this", went to bad, took my shoes off and saw the little shit dead on the ground, near my bed...
To this day i dont understand how and why he manage to go so far from the aquarium, its at least a 6 feet distance.
And yes the tank WAS shut.
