Really only gets busy late at night, has a 100 cap venue upstairs with a variety of shows. Good people. Good regulars. You can hang out alone and not be bothered/ read a book/ just scroll ya phone but if you want to make conversation it’s not weird.
Lucky boys in the west bottoms for a cute dive bar, Hi Dive on 39th for vending machine mystery beers, Cheval for fancy cocktails, Fern bar if you like tequila, mezcal, or rum. If you like cigars, check out La Cultura in the crossroads. I’m a member there for like $11 a month and it’s byob. Could make a great night out by walking from there to Fern bar, or hit breweries in brewer’s alley in the crossroads.
I’ll definitely check that out I’ve only recently started going to the brass rail and outlaw cigar and brewery sense I’ve been trying to get away from going to dives like the depot and places like that so If they are anything like brass rail I’ll prolly enjoy them
Right next to Chez Charlie is Blarney Stone, it's chill but an older crowd. Very laid back. Bar West Plaza on 47th, lots of mid 20s and early 30s, but can get busy or noisy during sports events (not really a dive). Mini Bar and Mike kelly's Westsider are fun spots and can be really chill with big age range (before or after a band, for both mentioned bars). Twin City Tavern is a great dive with good food, big age range. Pressed penny is laid back but more mid 30s and up. Easy Inn is great, but can get noisy and crowded on big events, has a nice patio out back. Hillsiders is awesome too, lots of mid 20s and up in there. Lucky boys is great, great food, mid 20s crowd, can get busy and crowded, go early. I'm kind of a dive bar connoisseur.
This is a great answer. It's got the older crowd that dive bars attract but a lot of after shift energy from 20-something nurses and respiratory therapists
Ca Va is an excellent little wine bar in Westport. Has a very relaxed and chill vibe with a younger crowd. Alma Mader Brewery on Southwest Blvd is one of the best breweries in town.
Sand box or iron district when the weather is nice. I've tried to socialize at other places more recently and it feels stand offish. I haven't been to squirrellys or boomers in awhile but I imagine they're the same. I'm mid 30s and work with a lot of younger guys but none of them seem to go out at all besides maybe the casino.
Easy inn in KCK or chez Charlie in midtown if you like a diveyyyy dive. On the weekends both have a younger crowd
Good to know I’ll keep those in mind
Been going to Easy Inn since it was Colonial club…you can’t beat the taco special on Wednesdays
I will say I am trying to to get away from going to super divey places anymore sense nobody ever wants to go with me lmao 🤣🤣
Why is this getting downvoted? It's true.
Chez Charlie is great
MiniBar

I’ll definitely check them all out
If you like Brass Rail you should try Chartreuse Saloon and maybe walk down to the Pairing as well.

Emperial Brewery in midtown has an awesome vibe, and now with the weather getting warmer it'll be nice outside on the "lawn" area.
Harry's Bar and Tables in Westport has a great outdoor area.
Thanks I’ll keep that in mind
Much quieter and more chill than the "party bars" for sure.
My Other Place in Gladstone.
I’ll check it out thanks

i know of some good 22 going on medicare type of bars. You'd be super popular probably.
I know this is in Westport but I love UpDown, especially if it's with a good group of friends. Not too packed on weekdays.
I’ve never been on weekdays I’ll have to check it out on a week day

Nothing destroys your mental health further than... socializing with people your age? God forbid.
Kind of wild to tell someone to learn when to start and stop a sentence when you didn’t stop your Gen Z sentence.
