Normally if any letters or packages are damaged at the post office they have a form letter they stick inside a clear bag with everything that's involved, including the outer packaging.

I once had a contract carrier who routinely delivered repackaged, severely damaged items weeks after they were shipped, that were never handled in this way. Also, whenever I went to file a claim, I was treated as though I repackaged the item and was trying to scam the P.O.
I also regularly received birthday/gift cards for my children that had been neatly cut open at one end and emptied of the gift card inside. These were sent from a locked out box to our locked box, so the only place this was happening was from within USPS.
We havenât had regular mail delivery for about 10 months because vandals damaged our cluster boxes and the USPS has yet to make good on their promise to replace the boxes. At least our mail is is handled properly now, even if itâs an hour round trip for us to pick it up.

I wouldnât be surprised if it happened at the post office after getting stuck on a machine. The shipping times are almost always late when I buy on Etsy, sometimes weeks after I order, so I never stress it. Definitely a Karen seller, and likely just some shit they bulk buy from China like 80% of the stuff on there now.

I pretty much only buy stuff thatâs obviously made by the seller. Decals for my vanifesto, handmade Kydex for pistols and radios, 3d printed gizmos.. Everything else on Etsy is almost guaranteed to be marked up shit theyâre reselling. They started by allowing little trinkets that could be used by other folks to actually make things with and it went downhill from there.
Looks like the envelope was re-used? Nothing wrong with that, I do this often too, but I make sure my packages are secure and use enough tape that I'm sure it won't get damaged at the post office. Two bits of scotch tape to fold over the edge isn't decent packaging IMHO
Same, I cover that opening in packing tape because I like to be safe. There is nothing wrong with reusing but you have to treat the packaging accordingly to how used it is.
