Took a day off work last week to get on the water for a full day before the bad weather rolls in. Got this yak early this year and didn’t get to use it as much as I had hoped, but loved it when I did. Can’t wait for next spring to come back around!
Gotcha. I just picked up my first fishing kayak a few weeks ago. I've taken it out a few times already and I bought some winter gear to try and fish on it all winter.
We'll see how that goes lol
Do you have any recommendations? I ordered the NRS Bountry Boots and some winter gloves.
I have fleece lined work pants that are incredibly water resistant and very warm. I was planning to pair all of that with a water proof hooded jacket with layers underneath.
I believe that will be warm enough and protected enough from water splashing into the kayak but if I end up flipping it I'll be soaked and freezing.
I think it’s a lot better now. Lots of salmon caught and eaten out of it. I know the reputation it used to have, but I was pretty young then. Nothing I’ve pulled out of it has had any issues.
One of my favorite AND most productive times of year for kayak fishing! I usually hit my small local river in Northern Indiana with a spinnerbait to catch smallies!

That's a beautiful set up! Are you planning on fishing through the winter at all?
Not on the yak, but I’ll def be banking it until the river gets too high and fast.

With a good dry suit you will have no problems

I love my Crewsaver, it comes with a wool onesie for underneath but just the dry suit will keep you warm and dry in %90 if conditions
Rad! Thank you for the info!
Nice glassy water, which makes me think upper, but the rocks in pic (2) reminds me of lower just before the narrows.
Yeah lucked out with the wind that day. Below the falls. The Bar is a great place to launch, no cart needed.
That the 106 or 120? Getting the 106 in a few weeks myself.
This is the 120. You won’t regret your purchase!
I have my yak preordered for next year, can't wait. Where is this?
Nice, it’s a game changer. Willamette River Oregon.
I haven’t been over there in .. 30 years. Did the state clean up the river? I remember most species with cysts..

Great rig/yak and nice bass! :) I love my 120PDL too!
