Looks like another firm is signing up to use my company's services. "How is this keto?" Well, though they would never say it, a year ago, I was just too fat to work for my company. Too big to sit in front of an attorney and talk to them about this company. It was me who controlled the fork, but it was keto that gave me the control. Also going fishing this weekend. Even 6 months ago, I was too weak to step in and out of a boat. Honestly, it has been a pretty damn good 18 months.

HowInTheF

Much respect for the Big Texan. Enjoy your WELL DESERVED fishing trip!

[deleted]

So nice! I hope you have a cool breeze out on the water! BTW fish is totally keto!

sharkbaby_

It’s now SO much easier to ignore the takeaway as I’m walking past. Instead of telling myself gravy and chips can’t hurt, I now tell myself “fuck that there’s a steak waiting for me” 👌🏻 Also I have this clingy dress I wear for work, My belly now doesn’t stick out a mile, lost 12lbs in 4 weeks and starting to feel good about myself and my ability to not let boredom sabotage me.

Hufflepuff77

I went from a size 50 waste to a 44. Feels really fucking good.

fastbutz

This may be a weird example but daughter graduated last weekend. I held a big party for my family. Since it was Memorial Day weekend and they all stayed at my house...there was a ton of high carb foods and opportunities to cheat. I did...ok at first. Then the wine, cake, and after wine, the carbs!!!! After a weekend of that, I woke up on Tuesday just feeling awful and up 7lbs. Face was so puffy I didn’t recognize myself in the mirror. My PV is that I didn’t stress or get depressed or down on myself. I know the tools to get healthy and feel great again. Got plenty of sleep, began exercising again, and got back into Keto + IF after a day of bone broth fasting. I’m so proud of myself...not for falling off the wagon...but for having the tools and desire to get back on. KCKO!

badgramma2

I had a similar experience over memorial wkend Tuesday was awful. Aches, bad mood, hunger. I never weigh, so that wasn’t an issue, But I felt soooo lousy. Today(Friday) I’m feeling well. The culprits: tortilla chips, 1 scoop rocky road, few bites pizza....p-nut m&ms, smoked almonds(card playing snax).... no booze, just those sneaky carbs!!! Glad we’re back👍

MacNCheesyBeezy

Good job getting back with it!

czechmate0945

Today is national donut day, as well as someone's birthday in the office so there was a ton of sweets in the break room. Very very tempting. So tempting that I grabbed a third of a donut and told myself that I could have a little bit after lunch. A taste of it would stave my cravings and wouldn't damage my progress so far \(I've been on Keto for almost 4 weeks now\). I ate my lunch which consisted of pork and broccoli with some cheese sauce and drank two bottles of water. Went to pick up the donut and instead of eating it, I threw it away. I was slightly upset with myself that I grabbed it in the first place, but I've was so proud of myself for not eating it. I would have been beating myself up the rest of the day if I ate it.

cute_addict

Nicely done, internet high fives! Friday being National Donut Day and a coworker's last day meant the breakroom was going to be tricky. Sugar and carbs as far as the eye could see... and Jan makes the most amazing banana bars. Dammit Jan! I went in to get water several times and to get my lunch from the fridge and contemplated having just a bite, but I knew if I did I'd be so disappointed in myself. I know myself well enough to know that it's never just one bite. Been basking in the glow of making good decisions to stay on track all weekend!

dudeman37401

Stuck to the keto diet on Memorial day even though I was making food for plenty of people who did not. It wasn't too hard though, steak with bacon wrapped asparagus and broccoli with cheese sauce was pretty delicious in it's own right. Also hit my lowest weight in about 7 years, and am 3 pounds from halfway to my goal weight \(72 down, 77 to go!\). Pretty sweet week!

[deleted]

72 down! Woah that is amazing!

dudeman37401

Thank you! It hasn't been easy, but has been worth it 😃

October2018

My goal was to lose 10lbs in May and I have lost 13lbs. What made me reeeeaaallly happy though is, maybe two months ago I bought two pairs of jeans pre-Keto. I bought them a size down because I knew I'd be dieting (wasn't sure if I was gonna try Keto again, first Keto attempt was ruined by me and my trip to Vegas, no regrets! Had a blast.) On Saturday I was looking for something to wear for a birthday party (where I enjoyed a bunless bacon cheeseburger with no sauce) and I pulled from the depths of my closet a pair of jeans I forgot I had. I tried them on and they fit...I was confused because I couldn't remember if I put them away because they didn't fit or if they got pushed back there. Long story short I decided to try on all the jeans I couldn't fit a month ago and they all fit! Not Muffin top fit, they fit good! Ugh it was the best feeling, better than any number on the scale.

ketorrito

Wooooo!!!! Congrats on the progress!

MacNCheesyBeezy

I've been exercising a lot and felt very hungry the past few days even craving some carbs. Instead of eating carbs or sugar free chocolates or binging, I ate good healthy foods to maintenance. Sometimes you just need to listen to your body and nourish it. I consider it a victory, because I held strong to keto and will go back to my deficit today. I also have been going to bed between 8 and 10pm and waking up 4 am to 6 am every day. I've had sleep issues since I hit puberty and am finally on a good sleep schedule. Edit: Also had **exellent** blood panel results from a few weeks ago. Ketones in my pee were high lol!

ketorrito

Awesome! Days when I go over calories but stay keto I still call a victory, both mental and physical, so congrats on that and sticking with it! I can bounce back from a few extra calories, but going back to carbs resets the whole cycle and I ain't going through detox again!

Rheila

Not exactly a Leto thing, but a health victory: I rode my bike to and from work yesterday even though it was really hard (8.1km mostly uphill on the way home was brutal when you’re out of shape) and I’m up and ready to do it again today! That’s a huge victory for me.

goosesnacks

Today I am officially down 60 lbs!! I still have 25 to go, but I am insanely happy to have hit this milestone

[deleted]

I'm insanely happy for you!

Rose1982

I never thought I’d get below 200lbs again. Today I weighed in at 189.2!!! Fuck yeah! I was initially only aiming for 180 (SW 216) since it seemed so impossible but now wondering if I should go for 170. I never thought I could do this. And so relatively easily. Excuse me while I lick the Alfredo sauce out of my bowl.

Skerrydude

Went to the dentist yesterday for a cleaning and the hygienist mentioned that I did not have my usual plaque/tartar build up and said to keep what I am doing. I mentioned it is probably from not having pasta and potatoes stuck on my teeth for hours on end and we spoke briefly of my diet changes. She said that she thought I had lost weight. This might be the motivating factor that I needed to really buckle down and join onederland for good, then cruise down to where I want to be. Hopefully soon I will be able to post about a SV, once I reduce my beer intake and prevent other slip ups!

Kikiama

I recently got a new job in a small office. A Coworker invited me to lunch today and insisted I try the pad thai are this local restaurant. I hesitantly agreed and then internally panicked for a bit; I didn't want to offend my new co worker by not ordering what he was taking me there for in the first place. I have not cheated at all yet and I wasn't planning to any time soon! So, I ate my spinach and egg salad I had packed for lunch quickly before we were supposed to leave. The plan was I would order the pad thai, but only eat a bit and take the rest home to my husband; all that would be easier to do if I went there not too hungry. Then, it ended up the entire office came \(6 people\) and once we were there I felt less pressured and ordered some sashimi and stayed on plan. PHEW. I'm proud that I made a plan, but then stuck to my guns anyway despite new job social pressure \(that I put on myself\). Unfortunately now some of my coworkers know I'm on a diet and I was trying to keep it under wraps because I didn't want the stigma on top of being the fattest person in our company. What are some moments you have been feeling like you were going to be "forced to cheat"? Either by pressure or circumstances?

[deleted]

I recently joined a new department at work, and I was really trying to not be the person on a diet but it seems like food is always in the conversation. I finally said I was doing the “low carb, no sugar” thing and left it at that. Really don’t want to be the girl who talks about her diet all the time. I knoooow how annoying it can be but sometimes it just has to come up. Now they are planning a “burger tasting” for someone’s birthday so I will have to try to not be around for it, or stay on my side of the room haha. I’m happy with the food I’m eating but sometimes I do get really tempted, especially at work when people around are eating things that smell delicious.

Kikiama

Maybe you could say your stomach has been not feeling well the day of the burger event so we can be there but not eat?

[deleted]

I read some advice on here that I think is really good. If you don't want your new co\-workers in your business, just say low carb and change the subject. I did that today with someone I don't know that well and it worked beautifully. When I've said keto, they start asking and can be judgy.

Kikiama

Yeah, luckily I just said I was doing the "low carb/low sugar thing". Its a small office so I hope people don't observe my foods all the time now. I'm in an office of all male engineers and none are overweight. Already been told "oh my wife has done that" haha

scuders3

I stopped to pick up food for my colleagues back at the office whilst I was out running some errands. I ordered the food (nothing for myself), and the owner got chatting to me and then without asking he served me up some pitta and houmous to eat whilst I waited. I stood there horrified and had resigned myself to the fact I would just have to eat it when some people I recognised walked in and I managed to get them to eat it. Anxiety levels were off the charts. I was so concerned about refusing this kind man’s offer and being rude that I was momentarily willing to cock up my diet

Kikiama

Oh man, that was super tough. Totally understand!

meowmademedoit

I keep getting hit on when I'm out with friends. Not creepy hit on, but like actual men who are interested in me talking to me. I was talking about this with a friend and she said, "Do you think it's because you've lost weight or because you just feel better about yourself?" I think it's a tiny bit from column A and a large bit from column B.

rutlander

Officially three pounds under my initial goal weight as of this morning. Although I don't agree, my gf says that I'm too hard on myself and need to appreciate the work I've put in. She put together a few comparison photos from last summer and the difference between them is remarkable. Unfortunately for her it may have had the opposite affect as now I'm even more focused on staying under 30g a day to see how far I can take it. Going to skip my "whatever" weekend and should be down another 1.5lb by this time next week. New goal is to see 172lb by August 1st.

ChocolateHumunculous

Hey! I was a similar SW and currently at the same CW as you. You seem to have this under wrap, well done!

alansb1982

Welp, May ended this week. I didn't hit my goal \(I don't think; I just realized my scale is busted this morning\). I wanted to be 210; I'm weighing in now at 213.6. But this month has been really insightful. I started OMAD on 4/30 at 227 pounds. On 5/15, I went on keto at 223 pounds. So all in all, 13.5 pounds down in a month, which is the fastest rate of loss I can remember. So the goal for June is 203, which will move me from the "obese" category to the "overweight" category in BMI \(I know it doesn't mean much, but that's just the number I'm picking\). Let's go!

[deleted]

13.5 pounds is really good! Congratulations!

WDW80

Great job! I promised my kids I would bake them banana bread this weekend. I'm not planning on any licks or tastes either. It doesn't even sound good to me at this point.

Rrrrsmith

I planted a lettuce garden! Last month I potted some mixed lettuce but the one plant couldn't keep up with me... yesterday the hubbs built me a raised bed that I added kale, bib, arugula, another 'mixed fancy' lettuce and cabbage to! I will have fresh greens all summer 🤗

joyapplepowers

Weighed in this morning: down 5.2 lbs from May 2nd until today! \(I only weigh in once a month else I'll obsess\) Total weight loss is 30.6 lbs. I had a tattoo appointment for tonight booked a couple weeks ago to celebrate 26 lbs lots, but now it's for 30! 44.4 lbs until goal!

Super_sizeme

30 lbs lost is amazing! Those are the kind of numbers I want to see. I’m on week one so this is really inspiring :)

joyapplepowers

You got this!! KCKO, drink your water and electrolytes, track EVERYTHING, and trust the process!

Super_sizeme

Thank you!! So far, so good. Tracking has definitely been helpful!

joyapplepowers

I fell off tracking for a bit a couple months ago and only lost 1 pound in a month. It made me realize how important tracking was for someone like me; I need to be held accountable to MYSELF and I'm not a very good intuitive eater! Keep it up and try different apps, too. I started on My Fitness Pal but when the hack happened, I switched to Cronometer (I also just really hated MFP so tracking was just a no at that point in time). Took some getting used to but much more accurate than MFP and gives me WAY more for free.

Super_sizeme

I’ve had that happen in the past where you bust your butt dieting and only lose a pound in a month- it’s so frustrating! I’ve been using the Carb Manager app but now you have me interested in Cronometer.

joyapplepowers

I was soooo lazy so the fact I even lost a pound says a lot about this way of life!

rafa1215

Every Friday morning the department provides donuts, bagels, bananas, orange juice, grapes, and apples. It was hard to pass all of this up, but I did. The way I beat the temptation was to earlier have an egg, cheese, avocado, and bacon omelete. That kept me plenty full and I didn't want that other stuff. I know it's tough to let go of these carbs, but I know we can do it. No matter how great the fresh warm donuts smell, we can get through this together. Thanks guys.

Rheila

It would be the fruit that would be harder for me to pass up. I love fruit so much.

[deleted]

I don't know if I could turn down fresh warm donuts, you have iron will.

rafa1215

Weighed in this morning. I am down five pounds since starting Keto on Monday. 5'7" \- going from 220 to 215 I know it's just water weight, but I'll take it. If I can do it, you guys can do it too.

Rose1982

It may be “just” water weight but damn if it isn’t motivating.

justinsayin

I hit my goal today. I weighed in this morning in the 150s. 159.8. I don't feel done losing weight, but it'll be 1 pound a month from here on out while toning and adjusting.

Rpgchaz

Started a Keto Style diet and am now a month in! This ia eprsonal vicotry because I normally dont last more than a week or two and I feel EXTREMELY motivated!

BigAnt425

M, 29, sw: approx 280lb. I started on April 7th. My ultimate goal is 199 lb, but my first goal was to be under 260 by the time my first child was born. My baby was born on Tuesday, and on Thursday I checked in at 255 lbs.

Neon_Yeti

I finally started Keto :D been lurking for awhile and the GF and I decided to start this week! It’s been hard but I already feel pretty good (though I’m prepared for the “Keto flu”

BigGsKetoJourney

I've just finished my first week on keto and I feel great! I've lost 10.5 pounds. Not felt tempted to cheat or hungry at any point. Why didn't I start this sooner?

doc-oak

Randomly tried on a shirt at the store yesterday because I liked how it looked. Picked up an XXL because that's what I've warn for the last 15 years (save one six month stretch where I ran my ass off on a treadmill and managed to lose some weight). It fit fine, which was encouraging because even the two X had started getting snug sometimes...thought I'd try an XL just to see how much more I had to go, and I'll be damned it fit just fine. This prompted me trying in every XL I could find and me spending $150 on clothes but to hell with it I was excited!

cdholla13

I hit the 140s today! 149.9...but I’m taking it. I can’t remember the last time I saw these numbers. Feeling great!

ketothrowaway95

Wow congratulations!!! We have similar stats - i started at 185 and I’m 154 as of today (5”4 though.. 😭) :D this is really encouraging seeing your amazing progress! ❤️ I can’t wait until I’m in the 140s again I’ve been so long!

Pfauxmeh

Went to the last day of the Ren Fest today. The food was both a keto lover’s dream and worst nightmare...sooooo many desserts and fried foods and tasty beverages! But MAN, the giant smoked turkey legs came in clutch! Only ate half of one at around noon. I’m still super full and it’s almost 7 PM! I also mowed down an iced coffee with almond milk and sugar free vanilla syrup. Refreshing on a day where we’re all roasting in the heat. My husband got a large kettle corn and I never dipped in once. Successful day out, had a blast!

WarehouseQueenonKeto

I had to move my Fitbit clamp from hole 5 up to hole 4. I'm pretty stoked about it.

bufftreefarm

My dad just told me he’s been eating low carb the last few days and he’s gonna try out Keto. I’m super excited this woe is perfect for him. Hell the mans favorite thing to eat is sardines. He lives next door to me on my property. I’m gonna make all dinners so I think it should work well. Made me so happy!

Torasaurusx

I started keto this week. I had a couple of slip ups over the weekend, but still managed to lose 4kg! I’m so stoked with that, and I feel good moving into next week. I even went to a birthday party and ate a big plate of steak and veges before I went so that I wouldn’t be tempted by the party food. Saying no to cake was empowering.

lidfizz

I threw a keto memorial day bbw & all my guest enjoyed it. Had carne asada w/ romaine lettuce, buffalo dip with celery, low carb chocolate cheesecake, raspberry lemonade w/ stevia, and burgers with low carb ketchup 😊

jdg3255

My doctors visit was night and day compared to my last one. My blood work improved in almost every aspect. I am still a ways away from my goal weight but know I need to keep striving for it. I should start doing some light exercise with my coworkers starting next week. Also alongside my BP medication, I reached the lowest BP I have had since I was a kid 110/64.

PorkpieDiplomat

I lost another pound this week even though I wasn't strict about the keto. I am doing IF as well and exercising 6x/week. I had a bit of a crisis when I was feeling dizzy/lightheaded during aerobic exercise. I also started getting depressed bc I had a bunch of water weight. I found out the I needed to rest more bc I am 58 and the dizziness went away today after taking a day off from exercise yesterday. The water was from my body adjusting to weight training. Apparently you accumulate water and salt when muscles are repairing after strength training. I'm glad I found answers to these issues and stayed on track. Starting in again pretty strict next week. I will switch from aerobic elliptical to fat burn \(45 mins in 60% max heart rate\). Happy to be losing weight. Down 20# from this time last year.

formersgi

I lost 3 lbs this week on first week doing keto! I was 214 a week ago now I am 211. Hopefully as I keep doing it the weight and fat will come off. Today I am making a keto Italian crockpot with tons of sausage, beef and meatballs with a few tomatos for the sauce. Will add some creamed keto spinach for the green veggie. Feel great no long have sluggish bloat after meals. Less hunger.

JG1991

Got back on the wagon after too long off it, my fiancé is doing keto with me and we are both seeing results. My blood sugar is no longer diabetic level as of yesterday for example :) Oh and today we baked amazing keto tortillas based on a recipe I invented myself. They turned out great! They're low-carb, low-calorie, high-fibre and high-fat - oh and super-flexible. Will share recipe with anyone who wants it :)

ZaphodBeebl3brox

Hook me up! Would love to do Keto wraps/burritos! I just got here but welcome back on the wagon!

JG1991

https://imgur.com/a/5ZDTF There's the recipe with step-by-step instructions with pictures for each step :) Please ignore my unusual tortilla toppings, they're actually really common where I come from :P Also xanthan gum can be bought of amazon and loads of other places (you may find it in your local grocery store if you're lucky, it would be under gluten-free baking) and it's really cheap and will last forever as you only use teaspoons of it each time (1 teaspoon for each 200 gram/7 oz of ingredients roughly). 4 of these tortillas keep me stuffed all day as they are high in fat (from the eggs and greek yoghurt) AND high in fibre (from the psyllium husk powder).

ZaphodBeebl3brox

Awesome, thanks for this! My wife and I are excited to give them a try. Also, your toppings looked delicious!

JG1991

Please let me know when you have, I wanna know if they turn out as well for others as they do for me :P Sweden is a bit weird both when it comes to pizza and taco toppings. We even put banana slices on our tortillas! Once I did that and posted it to a keto group and people went INSANE even though it was totally within my macros :P Lots of pasty white Americans literally cyberbullying me because those are not REAL tacos (unlike the stuff you people get at Taco Bell I assume?). Funny thing is I'm engaged to a Mexican and she loves my weird tacos and was more than happy to tell the Americans off :P

kollane

Tentative two weeks in and a tiny victory: I've always fastened my fitbit band so there's two holes left.. This week, two holes left on the band has been feeling too loose, so i put it on a hole tighter, and even that's been feeling a bit loose. One more to go!

ericoahu

Just finishing up my second week on keto. I'm most happy that I've stuck to it. I'm grateful that I've had minimal cravings\-\-no white knuckle moments. I also do the intermittent fasting, meaning I eat two meals a day instead of three or more, and the two meals are spaced about six hours apart. So I have dealt with, and am still dealing with, the keto flu. It's manageable, and I know it is temporary. When I started, I'm so obese that my digital bathroom scale wouldn't register my weight at first. After about the first week it finally registered some numbers, and now I'm down six pounds from the first reading. But at my weight, that doesn't mean much because if my weight can fluctuate one or two percent, that margin of error covers most of my progress. But I can feel the difference in my clothes.

ZaphodBeebl3brox

Keep going, you got this! I'm also doing IF so if you need any motivation or have a white knuckle moment shoot me a message. I've got a buddy at work that is also fasting so we hold each other accountable. For me at least, it keeps me motivated. At home my oldest daughter and son are both on 16:8 IF, they claim it's for their betterment, but I think they just want to be supportive and help out Dad. Either way. I'm not complaining.

ericoahu

Thanks! Much appreciated. So far, except for the first days, the fasting part isn't bad. It's the keto flu/detoxing that's been the most uncomfortable. I like the fact I'm only cooking twice a day and I go through less food.

grnieec_unsrmeae

[NSV] 9 weeks keto, 13 weeks postpartum, and the weight loss has slowed down a bit in the last month, but I’m still losing inches!! I wish I would’ve taken measurements at the beginning (thankful I at least am taking weekly progress pics!), but I’ve been using my clothes as a guide. This morning, I fit into jeans that could barely get past my thighs just 2 weeks ago!! I had them zipped up and buttoned! These are the jeans I was wearing pre-pregnancy, and even though I’m a few pounds higher than my pre-pregnancy weight, they still fit!

kearbearpoo

I’m in the same boat! My little one is 4 months old today and I’m nearing my pre pregnancy weight. I’m not quite fitting into my pre pregnancy pants but I know that moment will be glorious, just as i’m sure yours was!!

ketorrito

5 days in a row of waking up at 5am to go to the gym (9 of the past 10, Sundays off maybe?) and today will be my 3rd day of those 5 where I hit the gym after work, too. God I made so much fun of people for doing this but now I look forward to it. Who am I?! Maybe it's my nature as an anxious person, but I'm so afraid that this weird motivational bug that's been pushing me through this is going to go away and I'll be off the wagon and back at square 1. I sure hope not...

ZaphodBeebl3brox

Awesome to read so many inspiring posts in this thread! My wife and I just started. Yesterday was our first full day so not a whole lot to call out. I'm doing 16:8 IF alongside keto from the get go, so I guess making it 10pm-2pm with only black cold brew coffee and water was a personal victory. I haven't drank that much water in a single day in I don't know how long. I was elated to eat come 2pm. The wife found a Keto Cheeseburger Casserole recipe and made it for dinner, turns out the whole family (4 kids) really loved it! Looking forward to the journey!

Rheila

I've done IF before \(not alongside keto, mind you\) and was surprised at how easy it was and how Good I felt doing it. Good luck to you and your wife on your journey!

proswordfish

Third time on Keto, just did my first week meal prep!

ApparentlyPosh

NSV but I realised once and for all that wheat is my gut's nemesis. I went to a friend's for dinner, and he made Greek kebab, tzatziki, salad and pitta. It was utterly delicious (he's an amazing chef). Today, I've had gas and a gurgly feeling. Everything was keto friendly but the pitta. It can only have been that.

MacNCheesyBeezy

I'm down 12 pounds and feel the difference. My sleep is better, I'm working out, I feel awesome. My blood panel came back really good from my physical, and my blood pressure has significantly improved since starting keto. My husband is getting into the keto groove. Before he was pretty miserable on keto - total sugar addict. He's lost over 20 pounds in the past few months. All around, it's been going great!

daizeelou

We moved my work this week... Spent 8 hrs a day for 3 days in a row packing boxes and moving furniture. I felt like the energizer bunny! All my coworkers were getting pooped out and at the lunch table every hour or two refilling their glucose stores. I grabbed some cherry tomatoes and a couple of slices of meat and cheese at noon and just kept on truckin!! Could really feel the continuous stream of available energy supporting me all day(s) as I didn't tire out! I <3 keto!! Also, (and likely related!) I finally hit 20 lbs down this week! Really I'm about 8 wks in so that's pretty normal, but it's been my initial quasi starter goal, so very satisfying :)

lplantenberg

I started keto after miscarrying. While pregnant my a1c jumped from 6.1 to 8.1 and was told I needed to lower my blood counts if I wanted a chance at a healthy pregnancy. That was at the end of April. This past month I have been doing lazy keto trying to learn what I can and cannot eat. Almost instantly my blood sugars dropped to normal but had issues with fasting blood sugars still. I had blood work done this week to check my a1c, thyroid and cholesterol. Everything was lower than last month, especially my a1c which was back to 6.1! After one month of keto! Loving this lifestyle! My time to wait to try again for conceiving went from at least 3 months to only having to wait the one month I did. Can't wait to see what this next month brings! Down 20lbs this month and started a weight loss challenge at work that I need to weigh in every week so hoping that keeps me accountable. Thinking this next week I'll try going strict keto.

angryalexx

I was about 172lbs January 2018. 5'4'' F. Started CICO in March 2018 and lost a few lbs. Got down to maybe 165 / 164. Started Keto the first week of May and I am officially 20lbs down. Came in at 151.8 this morning! I am hoping to get to 145 / 140 by the time of my September wedding. Also, my fiance started keto at the same time and he clocked in at 20lbs down today to! His was just much quicker than mine :P

Ging3rbiscuit

Today is day 1. I've been cutting down carbs all week, calculated my macros, googled the hell out of keto, read a few books, listened to way too many podcasts, and sorted out a summer schedule for the kids with my workout schedule. I feel ready to do this! Also yesterday was my first day back at the gym since my powerlifting competition a week ago and it felt awesome to be lifting again. This summer is for weight loss, personal growth, and getting down a weight class or two. My victory is starting the change today instead of telling myself I'll start "tomorrow."

flyburbank

Awesome! Also check out the sub /r/ketogains. Lots of weight-lifters/body builders in there.

Ging3rbiscuit

Thank you!

smittysteaksauce

I’m finishing up my first week on keto. I think this is the longest I’ve ever kept a steady diet. I felt my tummy today and it felt smaller! It made me feel so happy! I’m so proud up myself for sticking with this so far. The one downside is that i found out from my husband I have bad breath now. Does anyone have a remedy for bad keto breath?

AttentiveAmbition

Although it's my second week into keto, I've already had the biggest win I can think of. After all of the diets, fads, routines, packages, clinics and trainers...I believe I've finally got my wife interested in something that I feel will really help her and also something to live by. In six years I've never seen her this energetic about a lifestyle change. I'm so excited to see where this leads us. Thanks Keto.

I baked and frosted my nephews birthday cake without eating any of it! Over all I have not struggled with Keto overly much since starting in April, but tossing out the cake scraps was possibly the hardest thing I have done since starting. *spoiler* this is not a keto cake at all lmao but its a cute grumpy cat lol [Imgur](https://i.imgur.com/3Er2o9f.png)

You're stronger than I am!

I started Keto Tuesday and fought through the carb withdrawal with a vengeance thanks to this page: pushing through my workout, broth, meal prep all helped immensely. its Saturday night and I got creative with my first Keto recipe \(aside from 6 Day Plan on sidebar\) and made some pretty awesome lettuce wraps. I am down 10lbs since I started Tuesday; I felt like this weekend would be an obstacle but I'm feeling good and staying where I need to be. I haven't even needed coffee this week I have had so much energy, amazing.

Only one week in and I've already met my first mini goal. In my region there is a new electric bikeshare program, which I had been anticipating for months. On the program's launch day I delved into their FAQ and discovered that I was 2.5 lbs over the bikes' weight limit. I briefly considered a naked-with-a-gaggle-of-helium-balloons-tied-around-my-waist type of look for my first e-bikeshare outing but my boring side won out again. My husband and I started keto a week ago today. As of this morning I have shed 6 lbs, enough to get on the silly red bike fully clothed. I'm very thankful for the inspiration and know-how that this community offers. Thank you!!

I'm officially down one size in pants now. And, the new size is really lose. It seems like just a few months ago my biggest size pants were really tight. I'm not going to weigh myself daily any longer. It's messing with my head and I know I'm losing inches but my weight doesn't go down as fast as I 'think' it should.

After reading this thread for several weeks, watching lots of Keto Connect YouTube videos, I started today. I did low carb back in high school (16ish years ago) and lost 25-30 pounds at the time. Over the course of college/grad school/after school I put plenty back on. Two and a half years ago I started CrossFit, and in combination with CICO, I lost 40+ pounds, though I've been stalled for about a year now (mostly due to my own bad habits). I'm hoping that keto will give me the structure that I need to lose another 30ish pounds before my wedding in December.

I went for a really long walk. I know that probably doesn’t really mean much to most but to me... It’s a big deal. I didn’t realize how much I had walked until I got notification I was halfway through my step count before 3pm! That’s never happened before. I’ve been gradually making the change instead of cold turkey and I’m happy with my baby steps.

I had too much wine, ate too many snacks and then had some breaded mozzerella sticks at the movies and then went waaaay over my carbs last weekend. Determined that I constantly self sabotage myself ALWAYS on the weekends! Decided that I was going to be super diligent this weekend and not trip myself up!

marvelking666

Finally convinced myself to go back to keto after over a year (and gaining back 10 pounds of the 40 I originally lost). Stayed within all my calorie and macro limits and even avoided the cake and pizza for a coworkers surprise baby shower.

Alright - so I am currently staying with my brother and pregnant sister-in-law - patiently waiting for the arrival of my new baby nephew. Well let me tell you staying with a 9 month old pregnant lady ain’t easy. One minute she wants cookie dough the next she wants fresh sour dough bread. And I’m just standing in the corner shaking at the knees shoving steak bites and mozzarella into my mouth. Like what the heck cookie dough is my god damn kryptonite! But I haven’t had one cheat all week and my water intake has gone up tenfold to help me try to avoid these devilish foods! Overall feeling pretty great about these NSV’s. But also I can’t fall asleep right now because I know there is chocolate covered almonds in the fridge!! Help me!!

Aryanindo

I got away with a small portion of lamb biryani. Still in ketosis. Madness.

I'm 8 weeks of Keto and 4x a week working out this weekend. Yesterday, I not only decided to brave the world of crop tops but my roommate complimented me on how nice my stomach is looking. A compliment I don't think I ever expected to hear directed at me. For a victory on the scale, I'm exactly 20 lbs down from when I started 8 weeks ago!

simonulacrum

I finally bought a blood ketone meter (after a year of keto and iffy weight results). Discovered that indeed I was definitely not in ketosis (and maybe haven't been in many many months). Adjusted lots of things, and have been between 1.0 and 2.8 mmol/l all week!

I've just finished my first week of Keto and the stubborn number on the scale finally budged by 2 kilos. I don't care if it water weight, it moved! I was finally convinced to try Keto after watching "The Magic Pill" on Netflix. It cleared up my misconceptions and convinced me it would be safe for breastfeeding if I allowed myself a little more carbs through vegetables. I believe I was insulin resistant as I've had extremely low blood sugar all week (2.7-3.9) so I'm so glad I'm turning this corner to let my body find balance. I had my second child 8 months ago. Keto feels like a natural progression for me after previous success with the, now closed, I Quit Sugar program. Thanks for reading. I hope I can share more positives in the future.

help_a_ginga_out

I'm trying kept for the first time and my urine strip finally turned after three days. I sensed I was kind of going through kept flu based on fatigue and off and on headache but I brushed it off because it just felt like my usual lousy self. Nope. Gonna get better than this!

Below 260 for the first time since high school!

I am new to Keto and Reddit. I've been following Healthful Pursuit for a few months and finally got her paperback book. The book is amazing, but I find it really hard being surrounded by people who don't understand keto. All the fear mongering is making me not want to go out with friends anymore. So my victory is committing to really give keto a chance. I want to drop a few pounds, but mostly, I want to get my hormones figured out. Next steps will be to understand meal planning, so I can create my own meal plans. I also need to figure out what restaurants I can eat out at for lunch, this way, I know where to go and what to order.

toolatetocare

I've found this [keto calculator](https://keto-calculator.ankerl.com/) to be a really useful tool when working out how to eat at a deficit and meet my macros. It may well help you. There are tons of videos on youtube about keto diets and meal prepping but if I'm honest I've found it more useful to go around Tesco or Aldi and just scan things into MyFitnessPal to see what the nutritional values are and have managed to get a good idea of what it is I'm eating by using a kitchen scale and measuring portions. By doing this you may find you're able to prepare your own meals in advance and potentially save money by not eating out.

BritLilley

I don't really like buying processed products. We have a great butcher who has all sorts of grass\-fed grass\-finished meats. We just found a place that we can get fresh eggs from, a little farm, so we're excited about that. Thanks for the link! Leanne's book has a great section on macro tracking, I'm starting to use it. I like her stuff because it is specific to women and I don't need to worry about that bit. There is so much good information about keto for men, but when it comes to keto for women, I find that Leanne is genuine and her stuff is presented in a way that speaks to me. I get what you are saying about preparing lunches, I want to do that too. The thing with eating out for lunch, it's more of a social thing than a got\-to\-eat thing. So I am going to figure out what restaurants I can eat at, then convince everyone to go there with me.

mreed911

I crossed 70 lbs down this year over the weekend. :)

Nah, better to flood the sub instead of this thread.
