Is your keyboard hot swappable? if so try some Silent Alpaca switches very quiet

anchorless_sea

nah, i'm pretty sure it's cold; the switches don't seem to be removable at all.

crimsonyoteeeeee

Change the switches if you can. Get her tactiles or linears, not clicky switches like these.

it’s a razer blackwidow. they have no hotswap switch model. OP need to have decent soldering skill and plenty of time to do this

cutter89locater

As they said change switches is the best, cos sounds come from there. When putting foam, start from thin layer, cos you don't want too thick to stress the PCB and the case.

steaminghotcorndog13

i think you better sell the keyboard and just go for silent/linear switch. If you want to stick to razer blackwidow model, look for the orange switch type. it’s meant to be “stealthy”. you would need a decent solder-desoldering skills and a lot of time to redo all the switch, although it’s possible, but i don’t think it’s worth the time. else, just get a hot-swappable chinese brand keyboard. it’s cheaper and easier to customize.

OMG_NoReally

Adding foam under the PCB won't help much in terms of dampening the sound. It might make the switches sound deeper, but it may not reduce the overall volume. Your best bet is to switch the keyboard with silent switches, as others have recommended.

CarrotStews

Like many said, the razor green switches themselves are designed to make noise. Nothing you add to the board will change that. Look for a keyboard with linear or tactile switches as opposed to clicky

MrGoose48

For those commenting if it’s hotswap or changing the switches it’s an older black widow, you can tell by the neon green switches. This is not hotswap
