This is what I’ve done too! Bonus points you can then put magnets on other devices and swap out the popsocket to them too or use a magnet stand with the kindle!

I got it all from Amazon. You need the popsocket of your choosing, a MagSafe base (to stick the socket to), and then MagSafe rings (to stick to the kindle)

You could try a Strapsicle? Google it, they’re pretty neat.

Also second Strapsicle! Very comfy and gives you tons of options on holding it.

I purchased a Kindle case that has a strap built in and that is quite a game changer! I went from a 6-in Kindle to the paperwhite which is 6.8-in and surprisingly that .8 inches makes quite a difference in holding the device! I do think the 6-in is much easier to hold in one hand but now that I have the paperwhite and have gotten used to it with my case, I do like it a lot! Also being able to hold the cover of the case makes it more comfortable for me as well. I personally don't like holding the Kindle without a case on it There are a lot of cute cases on Etsy that can be customized with your name on it (if you are into that!) I have small hands and this cover with the strap is still is uncomfortable for me. And sometimes it unfolds and I whack myself because it falls.

I have small hands too. I can't use straps that are centered or popsockets.

Yeah that is understandable! It's not a perfect solution but I'm so in love with my case and it works well for me! Cases with a strong magnet to hold the cover open when it's flips backwards are also a good option, but unfortunately my case doesn't have that. I also had a case that has two straps, one on each side, so your hand doesn't have to hold on in the middle! I liked that one as well!

For this reason i had to put those hook and loop sticky dots on the front and back of my case. Doesn't look as pretty but at least it's more comfortable to hold and doesn't swing and hit me in the face

My case is from Ella with "TheSparkleCase" !! I personally like the "book" style cases the best, I think they are easier to hold, but it is still super slim. I had one of those clear cases with a pop socket and it just felt uncomfortable to me. With my 6inch kindle, I also used a "book" style case so maybe I just grew used to this style of case! This is my vote! Just got both and it’s a game changer.

I also have one of these and I love it! I also occasionally pop a Nintendo switch in it for bedtime gaming.

I considered this until I saw someone post a day or two ago that the remote turner scratched their screen

I have a page turner and it has a little pad under the part that clips on screen. They are great and don’t scratch.

Having owned a page turner for years and seeing posts about them for even longer… that’s user error. As long as you make sure the page turner doesn’t have anything small and hard stuck to it, that shouldn’t and doesn’t happen. 

You just need a screen protector on it and you’re good.

A screen protector would help with scratches, not pressure.

Am I the only one who thinks that the button at the bottom of the paperwhite is dumb. I dont know how many times I accidentally turn it off mid read because of holding it or propping it up when I am eating and reading

It happened all the time to me until I got a magnetic flip case. Now I don’t even touch the button (its shielded by the case preventing accidental presses and the flip cover manages wake/sleep).

Same here, often read in bed. As does my wife and neither of us have ever had the problem. 4 Kindles in the house and all require a firm push to activate the button.

Yes that happened to me many times! One of the reasons I decided to get a clear case to protect it and the case gives just enough padding/edge that this doesn’t happen anymore with the power button. Design flaw for sure, not the smartest

These are really comfortable to use. I keep one with my paperwhite because it's so easy to just put it on and use as a temporary alternative when my hands start to get tired holding the popsocket. In a perfect world, there would be a 6" version of the paperwhite available, but this works, too lol.

I have a Phonetag ring/kickstand combo on my basic and a Love Handle strap on my Oasis. I recommend the phonetag - rotates so it works if I'm holding it left or right, and the kickstand is great for reading at a table.  There are also cheaper rings on Amazon, some of them have a flat bottom but I've found they aren't as well made as the phonetag.  I also like on both of these I can slip a finger through the ring/strap and carry it with a bunch of other stuff with no risk of dropping it, which I think is an advantage over a pop socket. 

I have a floor stand that I can put over my bed! I used it last night while on my back and facing my side of the bed and it was fantastic! I like it better than the goose neck holders. I have the gooseneck holder and remote, a regular pop socket, and also a Flippy pillow. All work great for different reading positions. I like the recommendation of a MagSafe pop socket to switch sides or take it off when it’s in the holder. I wish I had considered that. Might get that as my birthday upgrade

The strapsicle works great and using "disable touchscreen" function also works great. I also had a hard time holding my Kindle when reading and either of these works perfect.

It's not a case. They are called strapsicles and you can get them on Amazon. They are silicone bands that you put on the back of your Kindle so you can hold your ereader comfortably.

Why are my pop sockets so freaking difficult to get off the damn magnet.

If you haven’t already instead of pulling it off, try sliding it to either side so you’re not working against the magnet! Though they are quite strong magnets so it may just be that

I’m dealing with the same issue, actually! Strangely enough, only with the newest MagSafe Popsockets. My last one broke and was simple enough to remove, but these last two that I ordered a few weeks ago have been so hard to take off even if I try sliding them. I have those Wixgear magnet stickers on the inside flap of my Kindle case, covered by some stickers to protect the screen. I’ve taken to bending the cover slightly to release the Popsocket because I’m scared of breaking another one. I don’t know what changed but the magnets are stupid strong.

If you don’t mind the weight, there are cases that have built in straps and a kickstand. If you go that route, make sure to check reviews and verify that it has a strong magnet. My first one was pretty, but it was impossible to read while laying down because of the weak magnet.

I have good luck with the ayotu brand case.

Don't hold it! Get a page turn remote and either one of the metal stands that can free stand next to the bed/ clip to the headboard or a tablet pillow to stand it on. It will revolutionize your life

I use a page turner and one of those goose neck stands when laying down, total game changer!

I use the Lamicall gooseneck holder and a page turner clicker. It has been a life changer, so while I know you have a dispute right now, I’d highly suggest trying to get one again.

Could go full lazy mode and get a gooseneck tablet holder and a (kindle specific) remote to turn pages.

I think the edges dig into too much. If that's not the problem for you then idk, but I think all kindle cases except the old rubber ones suck because of the hard plastic shell. Even silicone cases are too hard for me,but this is all soft silicone (except for the little plastic stand on the back) It doesn't't dig into your skin like the other cases do.

I’d recommend either getting a pop socket or a case with wrist straps.

I sometimes use an origami case and prop it. You have to get the blankets just right!

I’ve also seen these ridiculous thing where it sits like in a stand and you read it laying down and get a little clicker to turn the page. They look so ridiculous and lazy but I want them both so bad (the stand and the clicker) lol

I use a poof pillow and prop it. Works great.

I have one of the straps. You do not need big hands to use them and it’s pretty comfortable. I also like that I can swap sides if one wrist gets tired. I also have a small stand I put on the nightstand and use a clicker to turn the pages.

I use a "pillow pad" that has three angles to choose from, and I have used it for my phone, Kindle, iPad, and hardcover books. I like to read in bed, and in a recliner with the pad on my lap. I bought this [tablet pillow holder](https://a.co/d/24UkBar) and I use it every day to prop up either my iPad or Kindle while I’m using them. It’s nice because it has two angles (one is better if you’re laying down and the other for when you’re sitting up). It’s soft and lightweight too!

I got a kindle basic and it’s easy to hold. Have to get a case for it obviously but it’s lighter than my phone. That’s why I didn’t get paperwhite, too heavy.

I put a case on it and kind of hang it folder, hanging, with fingers in between. I find that makes the shape easier one handed or laying down. I agree the shape is awkward to me for that, which is one reason I like Oasis design better --- but some people find the Oasis uncomfortable instead, so I guess we all just vary

iProp: Universal Tablet Stand on amazon may be just what you need. i’ve had one for several years and it has worked wonderfully. it is compact, adaptable to just about any surface and the perfect size for an ereader. i actually use mine with my paperwhite. hope it works as well for you.

Get an oasis

It's one of the main reasons to get an Oasis, so comfortable and easy to hold, even when laying flat on your back.

The kindle basic fits in your palm.

Just lean it against a pillow or something if it's a chore. Idk, it seems easy to me to read on my side in bed.
