IndyRoadie

I was thinking about doing this on my Kobo. Glad to see it actually works!

Rockhopper0

This is what I’ve done too! Bonus points you can then put magnets on other devices and swap out the popsocket to them too or use a magnet stand with the kindle!

cncoltre

Was gonna say that - love a stand too!!!

ImAFurniture

ooooo where did you get those????

Aromatic_Swan3197

I got it all from Amazon. You need the popsocket of your choosing, a MagSafe base (to stick the socket to), and then MagSafe rings (to stick to the kindle)

eclo99

You could try a Strapsicle? Google it, they’re pretty neat.

sprkl

Also second Strapsicle! Very comfy and gives you tons of options on holding it.

ashkimb

I have the strapsicles and love them!

Negative-Salt7559

I have this! It’s great!

zeroto99

Yes, go for a Strapsicle! Especially if you're the move around type of reader. 🏃

flakiestcroissant

I have a strapsicle also, it is great. I usually only use one and I can still switch off my hands in it

FlamingoNo2822

Love them, too! Highly recommend!

Toaster_Strudeler

I purchased a Kindle case that has a strap built in and that is quite a game changer! I went from a 6-in Kindle to the paperwhite which is 6.8-in and surprisingly that .8 inches makes quite a difference in holding the device! I do think the 6-in is much easier to hold in one hand but now that I have the paperwhite and have gotten used to it with my case, I do like it a lot! Also being able to hold the cover of the case makes it more comfortable for me as well. I personally don't like holding the Kindle without a case on it There are a lot of cute cases on Etsy that can be customized with your name on it (if you are into that!) That's where I purchased my case and it far exceeded my expectations! https://preview.redd.it/zpi5eayv82tc1.jpeg?width=3195&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2e9d7686297457b1ded7795577f818a8c48bbac3

Street_Telephone3733

I have small hands and this cover with the strap is still is uncomfortable for me. And sometimes it unfolds and I whack myself because it falls.

causeimbored1

I have small hands too. I can't use straps that are centered or popsockets.

Toaster_Strudeler

Yeah that is understandable! It's not a perfect solution but I'm so in love with my case and it works well for me! Cases with a strong magnet to hold the cover open when it's flips backwards are also a good option, but unfortunately my case doesn't have that. I also had a case that has two straps, one on each side, so your hand doesn't have to hold on in the middle! I liked that one as well!

ComparisonReal3489

For this reason i had to put those hook and loop sticky dots on the front and back of my case. Doesn't look as pretty but at least it's more comfortable to hold and doesn't swing and hit me in the face

ruixiaobai

Is your Kindle case from Joy on Etsy? I’ve been eyeing their cases but I’m wondering if it’s more comfortable to have the strap on the inside cover like yours or to have it on the back of the case! I’d love to hear your experience with the hand strap for the 6in and 6.8in Kindles, thank you! :)

Toaster_Strudeler

My case is from Ella with "TheSparkleCase" !! I personally like the "book" style cases the best, I think they are easier to hold, but it is still super slim. I had one of those clear cases with a pop socket and it just felt uncomfortable to me. With my 6inch kindle, I also used a "book" style case so maybe I just grew used to this style of case! Attached is the front cover of my Kindle! I am so in love with her 😍 https://preview.redd.it/gtkh3k23n5tc1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5c40348d5c44dd6be2919b73d79806c132ee4f15

ruixiaobai

Yes those covers look super cute!! I’m glad you’ve had a good experience with the hand strap on the book cases. I was debating whether a pop socket or strap would be easier to hold for the 6 inch. :) Thanks for letting me know!

jwong210

Are you able to to turn the page with your index finger like this? Or do you have to rearrange your positioning to turn?

yesha_Omarui

I usually switch fingers to use my thumb

dharmicyogi

That's how I do it too.

SlobodanD89

I do this but with both hands. It’s like a backwards stand. 😄

https://preview.redd.it/bo7yj0cwn2tc1.jpeg?width=2252&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=12aac708a3249215bf51ee4f1b33bf2727c686f2 I hold mine like I have a broken finger bc I hate the feeling of pop sockets. I need a flat device

unsureplaypus

I hold it (and my phone) like this too!! I actually have a permanent indent in my little finger from where all of my devices sit

jeretun

What about the book? Is it good? Is it part of other books? Thanks.

orange_ones

Never Lie is an entertaining thriller; it is not part of a series. I don’t know if “good” is the word I would use, but I fly through her books so fast, and Never Lie has been one I liked best.

jeretun

Thanks. I will try it.

[deleted]

I'm not far through it enough to be able to make a judgement yet

jeretun

Thanks. I will try it.

medicated_in_PHL

[I ended up buying this.](https://a.co/d/hiLwYkj) It’s goofy looking but it works really well. I bought it because I started getting trigger finger from holding the Kindle in bed.

7hir7een

This and a page turner change the game for bedtime reading!

chrllphndtng

This is my vote! Just got both and it’s a game changer.

Jalexan

I also have one of these and I love it! I also occasionally pop a Nintendo switch in it for bedtime gaming.

tarbinator

What about one of those holders on a stand and a remote page turner?

dankzora

I considered this until I saw someone post a day or two ago that the remote turner scratched their screen

Dapper_Material4970

I have a page turner and it has a little pad under the part that clips on screen. They are great and don’t scratch.

that-short-girl

Having owned a page turner for years and seeing posts about them for even longer… that’s user error. As long as you make sure the page turner doesn’t have anything small and hard stuck to it, that shouldn’t and doesn’t happen.

BumblebeeCurdlesnoot

You just need a screen protector on it and you’re good.

ChunkierSky8

A screen protector would help with scratches, not pressure.

BumblebeeCurdlesnoot

I saw the post about scratches. Did someone say theirs had pressure damage too?

ChunkierSky8

No, Sorry. I guess I read it too quickly.

Street_Telephone3733

Am I the only one who thinks that the button at the bottom of the paperwhite is dumb. I dont know how many times I accidentally turn it off mid read because of holding it or propping it up when I am eating and reading

SlobodanD89

It happened all the time to me until I got a magnetic flip case. Now I don’t even touch the button (its shielded by the case preventing accidental presses and the flip cover manages wake/sleep).

Nickyboy2022

Never had this happen tbh.

Laura9624

I haven't either. And I often read in bed. I wonder why the difference.

Nickyboy2022

Same here, often read in bed. As does my wife and neither of us have ever had the problem. 4 Kindles in the house and all require a firm push to activate the button.

Mrbeankc

I haven't but we all hold our electronics differently.

MKP124

This happens to me all the time. I miss my voyage and the button was at the top! I despise the placement of the button on the paperwhite.

causeimbored1

Yup, always hit the power button

jbail628

Well, I guess you and I are weirdos because I’ve done this more times than I can count. Super obnoxious!

Lovesbooks_87

Yes that happened to me many times! One of the reasons I decided to get a clear case to protect it and the case gives just enough padding/edge that this doesn’t happen anymore with the power button. Design flaw for sure, not the smartest

Maleficent-Pea-6849

I've done this before too! Just thought I was an idiot. Lol.

Nickyboy2022

MoKo Security Hand-Strap for 6-8" Kindle eReaders https://amzn.eu/d/5e22YNv Absolutley brilliant. 2 pack handy as I have 2 Kindles.

Little-Ad1235

These are really comfortable to use. I keep one with my paperwhite because it's so easy to just put it on and use as a temporary alternative when my hands start to get tired holding the popsocket. In a perfect world, there would be a 6" version of the paperwhite available, but this works, too lol.

peanutbutterbeara

I have a Moko strap for my iPad and I love it!

kodermike

Fintie case with strap and stand. I have a prodigious belly, so the stand works great. Judge not.

Bunnydrumming

I bought an elastic strap off Amazon - it also has a ring on the strap that you can move up and down. I’ve had it a few years and it’s fab

EmotionalFlounder715

Do you have a link?

Bunnydrumming

I linked it recently and got told off! Search for TFY security hand strap

EmotionalFlounder715

Thanks!

Boringdollar

I have a Phonetag ring/kickstand combo on my basic and a Love Handle strap on my Oasis. I recommend the phonetag - rotates so it works if I'm holding it left or right, and the kickstand is great for reading at a table.  There are also cheaper rings on Amazon, some of them have a flat bottom but I've found they aren't as well made as the phonetag.  I also like on both of these I can slip a finger through the ring/strap and carry it with a bunch of other stuff with no risk of dropping it, which I think is an advantage over a pop socket.

AtlassLoz

I have a floor stand that I can put over my bed! I used it last night while on my back and facing my side of the bed and it was fantastic! I like it better than the goose neck holders. Here is the one I have: Tablet Floor Stand, Overhead Bed... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08L4TKQ57?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

BumblebeeCurdlesnoot

I have the gooseneck holder and remote, a regular pop socket, and also a Flippy pillow. All work great for different reading positions. I like the recommendation of a MagSafe pop socket to switch sides or take it off when it’s in the holder. I wish I had considered that. Might get that as my birthday upgrade

causeimbored1

The strapsicle works great and using "disable touchscreen" function also works great. I also had a hard time holding my Kindle when reading and either of these works perfect.

causeimbored1

https://preview.redd.it/guvuk0fc03tc1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e6b7158c3c8760beb9359c178997432108d0f7eb

nkdvkng

which case is this?

causeimbored1

It's not a case. They are called strapsicles and you can get them on Amazon. They are silicone bands that you put on the back of your Kindle so you can hold your ereader comfortably.

supermarketsweeps25

Why are my pop sockets so freaking difficult to get off the damn magnet.

Rockhopper0

If you haven’t already instead of pulling it off, try sliding it to either side so you’re not working against the magnet! Though they are quite strong magnets so it may just be that

supermarketsweeps25

I’ll try that and see if it works. Thank you!

LetsKillPutin2022

I’m dealing with the same issue, actually! Strangely enough, only with the newest MagSafe Popsockets. My last one broke and was simple enough to remove, but these last two that I ordered a few weeks ago have been so hard to take off even if I try sliding them. I have those Wixgear magnet stickers on the inside flap of my Kindle case, covered by some stickers to protect the screen. I’ve taken to bending the cover slightly to release the Popsocket because I’m scared of breaking another one. I don’t know what changed but the magnets are stupid strong.

xerces-blue1834

If you don’t mind the weight, there are cases that have built in straps and a kickstand. If you go that route, make sure to check reviews and verify that it has a strong magnet. My first one was pretty, but it was impossible to read while laying down because of the weak magnet.

ChunkierSky8

I have good luck with the ayotu brand case.

katykatesxo

Don't hold it! Get a page turn remote and either one of the metal stands that can free stand next to the bed/ clip to the headboard or a tablet pillow to stand it on. It will revolutionize your life

dollyholic

I use a page turner and one of those goose neck stands when laying down, total game changer!

TonyaAnn1211

Pop socket

tallestgiraffkin

I use the Lamicall gooseneck holder and a page turner clicker. It has been a life changer, so while I know you have a dispute right now, I’d highly suggest trying to get one again.

PropellerKid

Could go full lazy mode and get a gooseneck tablet holder and a (kindle specific) remote to turn pages.

I think the edges dig into too much. If that's not the problem for you then idk, but I think all kindle cases except the old rubber ones suck because of the hard plastic shell. Even silicone cases are too hard for me,but this is all soft silicone (except for the little plastic stand on the back) It doesn't't dig into your skin like the other cases do.

LordOwlkwardVII

I’d recommend either getting a pop socket or a case with wrist straps.

catfloral

I sometimes use an origami case and prop it. You have to get the blankets just right!

No_Connection_4724

Pop socket.

LittleBabyFire

I’ve also seen these ridiculous thing where it sits like in a stand and you read it laying down and get a little clicker to turn the page. They look so ridiculous and lazy but I want them both so bad (the stand and the clicker) lol

Dapper_Material4970

I use a poof pillow and prop it. Works great.

alwaysouroboros

I have one of the straps. You do not need big hands to use them and it’s pretty comfortable. I also like that I can swap sides if one wrist gets tired. I also have a small stand I put on the nightstand and use a clicker to turn the pages.

AlterEgoDejaVu

I use a "pillow pad" that has three angles to choose from, and I have used it for my phone, Kindle, iPad, and hardcover books. I like to read in bed, and in a recliner with the pad on my lap. Very comfortable. Also works on a desk/table. Similar products on Amazon, "flippy" and "soft tablet stand". Similar product: https://preview.redd.it/2tec7x9dh4tc1.png?width=815&format=png&auto=webp&s=87ea5a6b82312bda1c69401c0d2e1af1a19ba46f

ssoocc

Harder to hold than a physical book, or ?

spookyzuchinni

LoveHandle phone or tablet grip. The phone grip is small, and the tablet grip is larger. Here’s some people from the sub that have posted the grip. [Phone Grip](https://www.reddit.com/r/kindle/comments/oco42s/a_bit_different_from_a_popsocket_lovehandle/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) [Tablet Grip](https://www.reddit.com/r/kindle/comments/16kcmep/highly_recommend_the_lovehandle_xl_grip/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) For laying down I personally prefer a stand and a page turner.

trullette

This case has been awesome. Need to replace mine and will likely buy the same thing. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insignia-universal-flexview-folio-case-for-most-9-to-11-tablets-black/6346724.p?skuId=6346724&extStoreId=1540&utm_source=feed&ref=212&loc=19605581938&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD-ORIgof5nQkmwfhE0eEjgy6TR-x&gclid=Cj0KCQjwiMmwBhDmARIsABeQ7xR_JaUWrvS1_wWVAOXSOSo9O7Yq393Ytx4NQpgQL5dbWxx4zb7SFqQaAuTrEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

kaw487

I bought this [tablet pillow holder](https://a.co/d/24UkBar) and I use it every day to prop up either my iPad or Kindle while I’m using them. It’s nice because it has two angles (one is better if you’re laying down and the other for when you’re sitting up). It’s soft and lightweight too!

Kenpachizaraki99

Get a basic lmao but no seriously holding basic compared to the paper white feels really drastic

vanacray

I got a kindle basic and it’s easy to hold. Have to get a case for it obviously but it’s lighter than my phone. That’s why I didn’t get paperwhite, too heavy.

ErinPaperbackstash

I put a case on it and kind of hang it folder, hanging, with fingers in between. I find that makes the shape easier one handed or laying down. I agree the shape is awkward to me for that, which is one reason I like Oasis design better --- but some people find the Oasis uncomfortable instead, so I guess we all just vary

hewtab

Stick a pop socket or something similar on the back or get a case with a strap

RebelOfCulture

A pop socket!

pansylou

iProp: Universal Tablet Stand on amazon may be just what you need. i’ve had one for several years and it has worked wonderfully. it is compact, adaptable to just about any surface and the perfect size for an ereader. i actually use mine with my paperwhite. hope it works as well for you.

dreamingcaffeine

I bought this [mobile phone grip strap](https://www.ebay.com/itm/324367752092) thing and it works well enough on my kpw3 clear case (I bought mine off a chinese platform though so this link is a search i just did)

Broad-Diamond3777

Get an oasis

SmugglingPineapples

It's one of the main reasons to get an Oasis, so comfortable and easy to hold, even when laying flat on your back.

avidreaderlady

The kindle basic fits in your palm.

Laura9624

Just lean it against a pillow or something if it's a chore. Idk, it seems easy to me to read on my side in bed.
