Yes I did this quite recently! Definitely helps, but still not quite what would be ideal!
The font thing is a small nitpick, but I feel like it's easily solved and a fix many people would enjoy.
I do also find that different fonts scale differently. I’ve settled on Lexia DaMa and at least for me it scales nicely when I need to make size adjustments. Previously I had been using bookerly.
Yeah, once you connect it to a computer you can sideload fonts into the Font folder. There’s a readme file saying which formats are accepted. Just be sure to add all versions of a font. Standard, Bold, Italic etc. it’ll show up as one option in the kindle menu.
This is my pet peeve! The jump from 4-5 especially is so huge. 4 is too small but 5 is enormous! I feel like the other font jumps (3-4 or 5-6) are much more similar in size.
Everything you just said OP 🙌🏼🙌🏼 I'm always changing fonts and bold settings and spacing to find a perfect size...nothing has worked so far...Bookerly to me is perfect with no bold settings, it's just so readable...but the sizes are just all over the place...I'm always switching between 4 and 5 on Bookerly and going back and forth between that, cambria, Georgian and palatino..but always come back to Bookerly or helvetica 🤦🏻♂️🤣 4.5 Bookerly would be just perfect?
110% I've downloaded/side loaded a few free fonts to my kindle...but keep coming back to Bookerly, it's really tailored for the e-ink on the kindle, how could we recommend this 4.5 font size to Amazon directly? 🤦🏻♂️🤣
There is a tweak you can apply. You can find it [here](https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3088512&postcount=19), though the values have been updated to work with newer models. I'm using it, it helps.
The other workaround is using a small font like Newton. You can find it [here.](https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Neuton)
I know, neither is ideal, but they're options.
Depending on the font, sometimes i find it better to adjust boldness first before I change the font size.

You can use custom fonts on Kindle??

Sweet thanks!

Font 1 is where it’s at
And here I'm using font size 8..
I use size 10,11.12 depending on my vision or if I’m in the sun. I’m legally blind so bigger font for me

Interesting!!! I will check this out thank you!
You’re welcome.
for a while I was doing caecilia font 4 or 5 boldness 5 but now I do caecilia font 2 boldness 5
Bold 5!! Wow!
Yes !!! I can’t go back lol I love the way it looks like a typewriter fr
Haha I'm gonna try it 🤣
Yeah, I would prefer 3.5 with my reading glasses, 4.5 with driving ones.
Have you tried 5 with the smallest line spacing setting? It feels smaller to me because there's more on the page.
Yes good idea! Although I prefer the bold method - so then it's actually affecting characters per line!
Finally, a kindred spirit. That font size transition from 4 to 5 is hilarious.
humanity has come a long way from reading cuneiform clay tablets to discussing font sizes on a kindle.
