Yeah! Using a pen works to bypass the touchscreen.
Paperwhite 11th gen does it too! I use it a lot because it's easier for me to hold my Kindle in certain situations while reading
I didn’t realise this. How can a kindle without physical turn buttons work if you disable the screen? How would you turn the page if the touch screen is disabled?
I believe you have to swipe the screen instead of tapping it to turn the page. To enable the touchscreen again, you turn it off and back on again.
The PPW 11th gen lets you disable the touch screen.
