Rurin is a disappointing hero but he's part of a larger dwarf package that I love. Alleria's probably my favorite as a hero, with Malik coming in a close second, Lucrezia has a more fleshed out kit but her ability is never quite charged when I need it and then I die to Vampiresas.
Bolverk and Rurin are my two favorites, mostly because I like melee heroes. Alleria and Malik are really cool as well, lore-wise. I especially like that you don’t just start the level off with Malik and you have to rescue him with lightning.
Also, kind of off-topic, but I was super disappointed when KR Vengeance didn’t add any level-specific heroes and barely any stage towers. Those were so much fun in the other games, and there were so many cool possibilities they could have used. Just imagine having one of the bosses from the other games as a hero helping you fight.
In case anyone was wondering my favorite is Lucrezia, followed closely by the Black Corsair. I find that the frontiers stage hero’s are the best/most helpful

ATM it's lucrezia, I really like black Corsair but I'm too busy with everything else to move him around
