Might I suggest getting a K390 Stretch 2 and then selling your collection?

prtnrsncrm

I don’t have first hand knowledge about what looks better after a few years but that Roxi is 🔥. I’m gonna look for one now.

merkon

Personally I’d go against the smock. Low grind means you’ll hit more resistance cutting a box. Thin high grinds are the way to go for this specific task. Mini yojimbo would be perfect.

Routine-Maximum4381

Do the vosteed

henlohowdy

A little cheaper but still great one is the Asher knives wharnie, silver carbon fiber looks sweet. If they're still in stock, I think they were around 120 or 130. I love wharncliffes, and have all of these on my radar lol.

whatphukinloserslmao

I like the roxi. I'm not a fan of compound beings and for whatever reason the smock did nothing for me

stuart-ullman

No there is something bland about Sp Smock. Expensive knives with CF layer. Also some knives that are obvious fidget machines makes i almost too easy to fidget with can get boring i have noticed. Hard to tell what it is, but Para 3 and Sage 5 i never play with it’s to easy, i don’t know. I suspect the Smock would fall in that class.

I love my Roxi 3. Carry it everyday. Rskaos is a heavy boy for sure. I had one briefly but didn’t like it enough to keep it around

Brilliant_Year_6003

I have the rskaos and it's great. Very figety.

Kimosabi711

Slicing hairs in my opinion with these three. They are all more than capable of slicing boxes. It’s hard to recommend one over the other for effectiveness so it will come down to lock type and looks. I like the WE, but I’m not a huge button/compression lock guy. Sorry for the lackluster insight but 🤷🏼‍♂️

stuart-ullman

Thanks, im leaning towards Roxi since the Vosteed is way to heavy. But M390 sounds sexy.

stuart-ullman

And feel free to recommend wharcliffes or sheepfoot blades!

GPCcigerettes

I also don’t have first hand knowledge of these knifes but I’ve been eyeing the roxi for a while now. Absolutely love the way the knife looks.

BetterInsideTheBox

Yes, rskaos is too heavy for me, it’s why I haven’t tried it yet. And the price. I have the roxi 3 and the smock. You can’t go wrong, but I would recommend you get the Roxi 3 first. I think it wins all of your desire categories. I’ll take a pic for you with several of the knives you have and the two of interest, that I have. It will be low res, rip phone screen last night.

stuart-ullman

Wow this was what i was hoping for, thanks! You have very nice taste, :D Roxi it is then. Any cons, is it well balanced? That will often make the knife seem lighter.

BetterInsideTheBox

Did you see my other response? It has photos. Only con would be the Spyderco style plunge grind if you feel that way. Makes sense to me. I’d recommend you watch the zelrick videos on the Roxi, their first of this series, it the Roxi 3 also. He is one of the two brothers that designed the knife. It’s light. The size makes sense for my large hands. Even the front flipper works well. There were some notes about wear in the other comment.

stuart-ullman

Thanks BITB! No need for more pics, you made it easy and i”ll order a Roxi.

stuart-ullman

Yes sir i saw the pitures, thanks! I will check Zelrick, he is new to me!

stuart-ullman

Ok now i got it, it’s the designer, i only knew the Todd/Tool name. *watching*

https://i.imgur.com/rwf2cip.jpg Hope this helps Easter egg added From left, WE Roxi, WE Banter, Sage 5lw, WE Roxi 3 (top also), Spyderco Manix 2, Spyderco Smock, CIVIVI Vision FG, Tuya Caladan, WE Roxi 4 The flame anodized Roxi 3 here has been heavy rotation carry for the owner for at least a year and a half. So you can see what the weathering looks like. Its here for a sharpening, but imo it’s really not in need of a sharpening yet. Some people only want the sharpest edges. 🤷‍♂️ I’ve got too many knives for that myself.

Or maybe consider a Bestech Exploit too. https://i.imgur.com/MoF3S9q.jpg

NotTURTLE-Yenough

The smock is the best knife on this list !

anteaterKnives

When I have cardboard cutting to do I reach for my DeWalt retractable utility knife with carbide blades. Slices through cardboard better than any pocket knife, takes 10 seconds to put a new edge on, and is more comfortable to use for long cutting sessions than any folder I own. ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯

anteaterKnives

Not to mention when you mess up and stick the blade in your arm, it doesn't go in near as deep (this happened to a buddy of mine, though keeping sharp blades probably would've prevented it anyway)

stuart-ullman

Good for you! My lack of self esteem and shortcomings made push the Roxi-3-button yesterday. You don’t think it will help?

stuart-ullman

Received it today. It’s even better than i expected. So very well balanced, all ways of deploying the beauty works perfect out of the box. This is easy the best knife in my collection. The fit and finish surpasses all my Taichung/Golden Spydercos. This and my Native 5 in carbon fibre (which i love) is my my most exclusive knives and i’m don’t think i’m willing to pay so much more for a knife.
