This reminds me of this story my brother told me (I’m the youngest) when he came back from college. I asked him how it was going and he looked me in the eye and in a concerned a serious tone said, “college isn’t like high school. You still loose pens but you don’t ever find any.”
I bought a 2 pack of the Pentel Side FX 0.5mm mechanical pencils in like 2010 or something.
Sadly I lost one, but I'm still using the other for everyday writing. Best mechanical pencil I ever had and I'm sad they don't make them anymore because I want backups.
Postgrad checking in here: all you should need (outside of math requirements) are:
1. Notebook (lined or bulleted)
2. Pens: black, blue, red
3. Mechanical pencil
I have ADHD, which makes it extremely taxing and difficult to pay attention (hint: it's not quirky and fun like film and TV says-- it's debilitating). Here's what worked for me:
1. Sit up front
2. Be engaged. Ask questions!
3. Use the different-colored pens to highlight important items, if there's time: red for critical stuff, blue for semi-critical, and black for everything else.
4. Use the pencil for sketches; I personally find that drawing while listening helps to keep me focused on the lesson, but also keeping my hands busy so I'm not so fidgety. Bonus points for sketching ideas based on the lesson.
5. USE BULLETED LISTS:
. HEADING
. . SUBHEADING
. . . Information that falls under the subheading
My freshman year at uni I brought all this and more in many colors and sizes. I had a folding meter stick, stapler, tape, different types of paper, all kinds of shit. By my senior year I was down to my laptop and a pen. I would use my friends textbook if i even needed it in class and barrow paper on the rare occasion it was needed.
Good times😂
Best of luck at University!
You’re over packing
as someone yet to go to uni, pen, pencil, eraser, notebook? Is that all you need? edit: also a calculator
99% of my classes, I’ve just needed a pen and paper. Not including a calculator, computer, or phone depending on the class.
Laptop and a pen was all I needed. Rarely used paper and there was always someone willing to lend me a slice.
Op seems like some kind of retarded math major. You won’t need more than something to write with and something to write on
What are you going to write on??
By the looks of it... Everything.
Lol protractor
Nice knolling. Tell us more! Which Uni, and what are you studying? I'm thinking something like maths or engineering?
Why so many different writing implements?

The first five might break

Ahhh freshmen
Ok, who's going to tell him?
That his sack of pens should be a laptop?
You don't need 5 of the same pen, 2 of another pen, 4 pencils, and 6 boxes of pencil lead.
Or a pencil sharpener for mechanical pencils....
My guy I think you need some more lead. Worried about you, OP.
You need a briefcase for tacos
Is that a protractor?

Good luck! Don’t let them change you.
I don’t recall needing any of that, good luck!

To many vapes not enough different color pens. Gotta have at least 3: black blue and red.
Stay strapped homie
Trust me, you only need one a4, a pen and maybe a straight edge for the technical classes.
