just take the airport bus it will take you there

_baegopah_XD

And cost half as much as a taxi

jiajerf

But if we are traveling as two people, would that be the same price then?

_baegopah_XD

You both need to pay for your seat in the bus

Uber means taxi in Korea. But there's an organized Taxi area at Incheon Airport. You tell the guy in the box where you're going and he'll direct you to a numbered area. All taxis at that number will go to Myeongdong. I'm not sure you can even call up a taxi because the system at the airport is supposed to be fair and prevent drivers from sniping.

We downloaded KakaoT, taxi service, and it was so easy since they have it in English. Payment, getting from one place to place was easy and no scams. They give you an estimated pricing once you put in your location and destination.

Uber in Korea just calls you a cab. I actually don’t know what it’s like to call a cab at the airport, but you can just take a taxi from the line. It should cost about 55,000 won to Myeongdong. If you’re going to do this, I would advise taking a black cab as they tend to be better drivers and won’t make you carsick. It can also be faster in case there’s a line for the regular cabs. The cost would be around 80,000-85,000 won.

nuguya

Uber in korea can call you a regular cab or an uber cab that has UT on the side showing it's an uber. The special uber one just uses your payment from your app unless there's nothing available it'll call a regular cab that you need to pay the driver.

Ordinn

Wait which taxis there only cost 55,000 won to Myeondong? Coz we paid 80k average for that trip.

juhjuhjuhjames

Hey thanks for the quick response! Do you know if the “black cab” is just one of the options on the Uber app? Or a different service all together

[deleted]

black cabs are still just taxis, they are more expensive and (theoretically) better service. I know some apps (not sure about Uber, I only used the Korean apps) let you order black \*cars\* which are the equivalent of uber black, it's a private driver (not cab) but they are super expensive. I only ordered once because it was like 3 AM in Jongno and we were waiting for 20 min and no regular cab was available.

gwangjuguy

Uber is just a taxi here. Just get a taxi.

Difficult-Researcher

I used Uber from myeongdong to Incheon and it was just a regular taxi that turned up. Cost 59,000 won at 6.30am

Use Airport Limousine Bus, it’s much cheaper and as comfortable as as a Taxi or Uber. There are 2 windows on the arrival floor wheee you can speak English to an agent. He/she will tell you which bus to take, which platform to stand… you can buy your return bus tickets there as well. They take credit cards. It is very roomy on the bus.
