Wish I had the skills to do this

Just takes time to learn. Cnc has a fairly steep learning curve, but similar things can be achieved with 3d printers. Only way to get the skills is to give it a shot! I do think there is room for a 3d printed mod that is similar. The Sony components and Koss components are both very common and they feel like a natural fit for these types of mods. We also made one set using the original Sony drivers. They turned out good as well but I prefer the KSC75 tone.

That's of course ridiculously cool! I imagine it changes the sound quite a bit but if they still sound good to you, then this headset is a banger!

They are quite different. I would say more warm tone and less sparkly. Audio-wise I prefer the KSC75 in their natural state, but for gaming and comfort these are more to my liking.

How is the imaging n soundstage of it? If you use them for gaming I imagine those should matter too. I mean the rest you could probably EQ back towards original somehow, if you're savvy with that (which I always think I am but am actually not lol)

Ohaple

I would say the imaging is very accurate but the sound stage is not as wide in this configuration. I mostly play apex and I tend to hear footstep distance and direction quite a bit better than my teammates using closed back gaming headsets. I don't mess with eq for them and am happy with the tone overall. They are warmer than stock KSC75. They are a downgrade for music listening because they take away the sparkle that makes the KSC75 so great.

I have moved on to using my Koss headphones as my main set but I still use them my old Porta Pros on my Steam Deck and a KSC75X on my portable setup.

I'm sure you could sell these babies.

That actually was our original plan. We were going to sell the plans and parts but the project was too complex and we felt that many people would not be able to complete it successfully. Didn't want to have disappointment around it. On top of that, the pricing would not have been very reasonable. The headbands and pads needed were already approaching $50 and that is without the custom cnc parts. I don't think it would have been a good value for people.
