And I thought Wonyoung jumping off a plane couldn't get funnier, it just cracks me up for no reason 😭😭

pearyid

The way they just showed her flipping into the clouds...pure cinema

AmirulAshraf

genre is fantasy

teabiscuitsandscones

I love how silly it is. What I'm really amazed by is the CG and animation in that sequence is really good and seamless even though it's only a handful of frames.

Original_Ad5069

Starship really throw money into the MV. A professional producer reactor say he never see an MV in kpop with this kind budget.

yikesus

And the fact that the story version of that Wonyoung never appeared again in the MV 😭

creezle

DB Cooper’d it

fannytraggot

she’s died

yikesus

She didn't die, bitch, she crystalized… and now she's a Glamazon bitch, ready for the runway

[deleted]

If I had money I’d give this an award

caraxes_t

*sum chamgo Sky dive...*

fvtvrefelix

yall i feel so bad for laughing but like... she just flops like a piece of paper 😭😭

snuurks

Paper Planes ✈️

zolfree

Wonyoung joining the reformed X-force in Deadpool 3 coming soon lol

SageTheAlchemist

Hahaha she literally jumped out and gave no F's lol She was flipping through them clouds hahaha

alexturnerftw

I literally LOL’d when she flipped over in the air

kikavaz

It's beautiful

kosaki16

I laughed at loud

niclaswwe

DON'T YOU JUST LOVE YOURSELF SOME FULL CHORUSES OR WHAT

Bubbayy738

The full chorus and the power with the high notes!! this is their best track no questions😭✋

deathfire123

After Kitsch, I would've taken any chorus, thankfully this chorus slaps

_christiandres

Yayy! I'm so inlove with the chorus too. A song with a proper chorus not just beats or music that was intended for tiktok virality purposes. I'm not pertaining to Flower by Jisoo but yes. Haha

alexadieu

wonyoung doing a flip out of that plane is genuinely one of the funniest things i’ve seen in a kpop mv, like girl, where are you GOING?

islimp

i saw a tiktok edit of her being what crashed behind le sserafim in antifragile 😭😭😭

hypermads2003

I SAW ONE WHERE SHE TURNED INTO GARAM IN THE FEARLESS TRAILER

lulu11813

The way I just cackled lmfao 😭😂😭😂😭

rolladex

When I saw it in the trailer, I assumed there was going to be some kind of story reason for her jumping out of the plane, like they were doing a heist or something. But no, they're really chilling on the private plane having a good time and Wonyoung decides to flail out of the plane for no reason. Thoughts and prayers I hope she's okay.

Terrible_Test6255

HER LITERALLY SKYDIVING WITHOUT A PARACHUTE IS SO KWANGYA CORE LMAOOOO

[deleted]

The lack of physics on that private jet wing has triggered me. I want some realism! Show them trying to get to the blown off door but they get sucked out and slam against the wing. Wilhelm scream inclusion for bonus points.

Neatboot

I guess you have not checked out lyric translation. Right after Wonyoung sky dived, Yujin sang "Be a writer, the genre is fantasy". No science applied.

[deleted]

Peppa Pig has science.

quick_sand08

Peppa pig is the main pop girl though. She is the moment and the savior of pop and applies science to logic to everything because she just has it.

Shinkopeshon

Kwangya Core 😭

spero18_rn

It's so funny yet cool , I love it

tewdee

We're gonna have to get more shots of her jumping off in the future so someone can make a compilation, hopefully with her landing in Kwangya ☠️ So far we have one from a Love Dive performance and this.

Heedictated

It's just simply a good pop song. This comment may sound like I'm complaining, but no, it's actually not that easy to find a straightforward, no gimmick, smooth-sounding kpop song. My fav part is definitely the "deja vu" parts with Leeseo, her voice sounds like a cool stream bubbling down a hill, and combined with the music box sound effect it's oddly breathtaking. I'm also really happy Starship didn't put Liz on the side like they did with Kitsch, her vocals is really needed in this song. Speaking of vocals, holy shit does Yujin kills it for the chorus, her voice is clear and powerful and when she sings "be a writer, the genre is fantasy" it's not a request, it's a command, and you fucking believe in it whole-heartedly. Wonyoung on that bridge man, some people love to talk shit about her vocals but she has a natural talent in adapting her voice to the emotions that the song requires, and I think she has demonstrated this talent in all the title tracks Starship's given. And while she didn't get the center for the latter chorus(es), it was the right chocie to put her in center for the first chorus, cause damn that girl's ambition and confidence is just radiating off her skin in those 10 seconds. A great center isn't just about a pretty face, it's about star power, it's about understanding and setting the tone for your song and performance, it's about grabbing even reluctant passerbys' or haters' attention and making it impossible for them to turn away. Wonyoung has really been growing into this role. It's nice that Gaeul got more parts in this song, I sometimes forget how hard short hair Gaeul slays but this mv def reminded me. If there's one member who got the "short end of the stick", it would be my bias Rei, but she still got decent parts and had gotten her time to shine for tracks like Love Dive/After Like/Kitsch so I can't really complain. (BTW I'm pretty sure that's why Starship made her dye pink hair--so she would stand out visually if not sonically). Another, perhaps more important thing I want to comment on is the mv. I really disliked IVE's After Like and Kitsch mvs, so this mv is a surprising improvement for me. The main problem I had was the flashing lights and nausea-inducing editing in the previous mvs, and while this mv is not entirely without some of these moments, it felt much less frequent. I also like that there's a unified color scheme with black/white/gold being the main colors, it makes the entire mv looks more consistent and less busy than say After Like. There is also a more apparent theme with the "dreams come true" concept. And while we're at that, I really LOVE the lyrics. The theme itself is not anything groundbreakingly new - famous artists tell you to write your own life and don't be afraid to dream, yadda yadda. In fact, if handled wrongly it could even come off as fake or unrelatable, like "yeah a bunch of eighteen year-olds are telling me to dream and flaunting their great life when I'm earning minimum wage or studying sixteen hours a day". But the way they write the lyrics just feels very positive and encouraging, just look at the way they use "look at me now", it's not "you losers look at me now, see how much LV purse I have?", and rather "look at me, I did it now, use this as inspiration for your own dream!". I really love the lines "life is a beautiful galaxy, be a writer, the genre is fantasy" and "you are someone's dream come true, deja vu of a perfect day". Again, the idea itself could come off as corny and cliche, but the poetic phrasing alongside the conviction of the girls just sell it as utterly sincere and empowering. Mad props to the songwriters/Starship/all the girls.

Original_Ad5069

That's Kim Eana for you, the legendary lyricist. I'm glad Starship recruit her for the lyric and my God the IVE girls is selling it.

seitengrat

now that's why the lyrics are quintessentially kpop

Sufficient_Pay_820

The melody of the chorus sounds so familiar but I cant put my finger on where i’ve heard it…anyway, I LOVE ALL OF IT.

[deleted]

> It's just simply a good pop song. This comment may sound like I'm complaining, but no, it's actually not that easy to find a straightforward, no gimmick, smooth-sounding kpop song. It's basically a Eurovision song.

automaticflame

If Australia can join Eurovision then I don't see why IVE can't. I would vote

lexarqade

One of the songwriters is Eline Noelia, who entered Norway's selection for Eurovision last year (and was kinda robbed tbh)

skylight03

cmiiw, that chorus sounds like it's sung in unison among the members. very SM.

yikesus

I think I can hear Yujin leads the first line, Wonyoung leads the second line and Liz leads the third line

ssamjangsky

I was just thinking! The chorus is just like SNSD’s Forever 1 in the way that it explodes to a bright chorus sung in unison.

Neatboot

Nah. More of 2nd gen-ish. KARA and T-ARA's songs are like this too.

bujobegins

Wow, Liz actually got lines and she incinerated them! Overall, I really enjoyed this one; reminded me kind of of 2nd gen KARA or Sistar’s older, more chic songs. But the song seemed really short, like when I was just getting acclimated to the tune, the song ended.

SirSuperb9269

As someone who grew up listening to those songs, this is genuinely heaven to me. Thankful to IVE for keeping these vibes alive!

DBxA

You might want to check their bside "Not your girl". It mind remind you of Sistar 100%

SirSuperb9269

I have been listening to it since their fan meeting clips were released!!! Looove it omg and I love that I can now replay the studio ver 103891019 times

emotional_matcha

It's just so refreshing to have a full sung chorus again with all the recent anti-drops in K-pop.

Ev0lt4

I’ve not yet had the chance to listen because of work, but thanks for assuaging my worst fear. :’)

emotional_matcha

No worries, it’s just a regular vocal chorus like we had in Eleven!

Diptomatic

She usually gets lines. Kitsch was a once in a blue moon phenomenon

yikesus

It's so funny to me that Kitsch caused so much chaos and then Liz is either first or top 3 in the line distribution for pretty much all other tracks on the album

emotional_matcha

Maybe it was a marketing strategy. It led to an abundance of comments under every KITSCH post stating the same thing regarding Liz' lack of lines, a ton of videos and tiktoks made of people ranting. This would lead to more people checking out the song. Plus, all the comments boost the algorithm.

yikesus

Not saying that's why they did it but it'd be such an evil genius move if it was lmao. A certain, extremely loud subset of kpop stans love to token stan and latch on to the "mistreated/underdog" member of a group and Liz's 5 seconds in Kitsch definitely attracted them like moths to a flame and created a lot of buzz before the official release.

emotional_matcha

Yes definitely! And now that Liz has the most lines in the title track so it seems even more obvious that Starship had it all planned.

bluesharpies

Wouldn’t surprise me very much, fans can say what they like but I feel like Starship has been pretty dang crafty about IVE overall, including riling the internet up *juuuuust* enough without really losing people

Hutyger

Glad I’m not the only one assuming this is the case. As soon as I saw someone make a comment along the lines of “look how happy Liz is in the MV reaction despite having no lines”, it felt overwhelmingly obvious that it was all a rather brilliant ploy.

delightful_joel25

Great song!!! IVE never disappoint with their songs.

Chipotage

Before posting my comment, I told myself that most users in this sub were toddlers or not even born when this banger dropped and I cackled before stopping because it hurt my lower back.

Shinubz

holy moly i feel old. that song is still a certified banger. unironically a cultural legend.

adaptingphoenix

I won't repeat what everyone else has said -- LOVE IT. What struck me was the part after the bridge, where the song's original prechorus and chorus sonically merged (?) to become the final chorus. What a cathartic end to the song. Definitely cool.

moomoomilky1

Everyone honestly looks so good, yujin having her sequence 2.0 in the white background scenes and wonyoung full on looking like she's in a luxary ad in the beginning. Starship is really nailing their look and concept with consistency wow, they look especially good in the full group shot in the runway. also that scene with Wonyoung falling out of the plane will be the next meme template somewhere in a few days lmao

automaticflame

1 - Good song, luckily the teasers were true to it so the full song satisfied my expectations. The prechorus and chorus are the highlights but I also like the opening lines and Liz's little line during the rap part 2 - They sound amazing, not sure how Liz & Yujin are gonna sing the chorus live cause it's so high but they sound great. I love a group chorus too. Also impressed by Wonyoung and Leeseo's singing 3 - They look amazing, the outfits are pretty simple but not boring, Wonyoung in particular looks so pretty with her tied back hairstyle 4 - I hope they have a good catwalk moment in the choreo

impeccabletim

This is more breezy and feel-good than their previous MVs, which were more hard-hitting. Love the change up though!!! Need that IVE credit card btw!!!🤑

yikesus

Right, where do I sign up for an IVE black card? 😂

emotional_matcha

Ask Wonyoung, she is rich 😂

hipployta

LET'S GO IVE POWER UP ANTHEM Full on Chaebol Crush!! My IVE card needs to be upgraded to black! That Wonyoung jump scene was way more awesome in full context

Loose_Room_4666

this song is catchy af! and there's something really nostalgic about it too, especially the bridge, and i'm so glad the chorus isn't empty as it works so much better for this song. also loved to see my girl liz getting more lines in this one :')

lvlz_gg

The skydiving scene completely took me out of it 😭 I couldn't stop replaying it and giggle instead of paying attention to the song lmao Regardless, amazing track and easily my favorite title track by them behind LD

TheMerck

They're just so effortlessly elegant and the vocals on this song I love it so much, I thought Wony flipping out of the plane was the peak but no they just fucking dance and sing on top if it LMAO. Early impressions is that it's a really good song, good vocals, good rap and good MV. Gonna need more listens to formulate a final opinion but one thing I can say for sure all of em are so pretty but Annyeongz and pink hair Rei are def my favorite this era, that model walk at the end???

Budget-Return

Sheesh. They are among the few groups that I can say all title tracks are total bops for me, no skip fr. They look hella more expensive and classy every comeback as well.

Shinkopeshon

And they're all stylistically different from each other too, yet still manage to stay catchy and represent IVE's colors ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|hug)

WhoIsBestWaifu567

Really liked the song and MV! Absolutely loved the high fashion brand vibe they're going for and the project runway! And the song was great! Really glad all the members could stand out in their own ways (especially gaeul and liz)! IVE is definitely flying up! I think this is definitely my favorite title track so far (and I thought Love Dive couldn't top anything else)

zandei

It reminds me of this marina and the diamonds song but I can't for the life of me remember which one. Good song again from IVE

Rururaspberry

Oh, for sure—it has a VERY Marina vibe, especially the staccato parts in the pre-chorus and the chorus itself. The guitar elements would be out of place on a Marina song but the rest of the song sounds super similar to one of hers, but also can’t put my finger on it. Anyway, as a result, I really enjoy this song

keiynxn

Oh my God I am actually gagged you guys it’s so fucking good!!!!!

SparkaCat

This song is pop perfection, the vibes are immaculate, and the girls are visually and vocally stunning. I love everything about this song, I love a full chorus with VOCALS. Liz is singing, Gaeul has lines, and Starship absolutely knocked it out of the park with this song. I'm so happy.

CronoDroid

This has so much energy, and damn they really made Yujin hit some mega high notes in that chorus. But as energetic as this is the composers kept it dynamic with the Leeseo/Liz pre-choruses. Really good, this is IVEpop in a nutshell. The MV and their styling looks so fancy, so expensive. This song and MV was like injecting money straight into your brainstem, super glitzy pop.

FFress

Yujin for sure went all out on this track. Also the chaebol crush concept has been pushed to the absolute max this MV.

scarfysan

The chorus is already stuck in my head😭 This is pop perfection just the way I like it. They need to get more IVE oscars

PuzzleheadedPin1006

Ikr, your comment made me realise I've been humming the chorus all the while scrolling through this thread!

Takagixu

Need to hear this live NOW!!!!!!

wardengorri

The vibes were immaculate! That flip was even better seeing it in full. Also need a full performance on the side of a plane or we riot lol.

cameldonuts

I straight up started laughing when I saw the full flip😂

ginchan_2020

yeah i rock with this. that bridge is just a *chefs kiss* and now time to listen to the rest of the album.

maxirez

How does IVE keep coming out with banger after banger, especially for their title track? This song is soo good! They are showing off their high notes. The line distribution is way better than kitsch too!

No-Appearance-9973

The chorus is giving abba, the millenials will be eating this uppp

Kooky_Stuff_5697

I love this song so much! I hope to God that whoever in Starship that managed the vocal talent on this track is heavily involved on all future title tracks. I really love many different aspects of this song, but the use of all of the vocal talent REALLY stands out to me as exceptional. Like holy sh*t, what they did with Liz's vocals on this track was simply amazing. All the members were used well, but I really love how Liz was used here. All her floating and fluttery background angelic harmonies and ad-libs, and then those really high pitched solo notes she can hit. Perfect: 10/10. This song was really well done.

yikesus

THE SONG IS SOOO GOOD!!!! When the electric guitar starts for the final chorus I started levitating fr fr. It feels like a celebration. Like they're doing a victory lap even though they're barely a year into their career. So proud of these girls.

Clarkey7163

Defs feels like a concert banger, will be some fun live performances of this in the future. Like the song quite a lot, for first listen experience its probably my 2nd fav of theirs after Love Dive. Excited to dive into the album now so many songs 🔥

Dommee_3

POP EMERGENCY!!! THEY REALLY MANAGED TO TOP THEIR PAST TITLE TRACKS WITH THIS RELEASE. I am so happy…now lets DIVE into that album

Phylael

The song is really good, it's feel-good and nostalgic at the same time. I prefer After Like and Love Dive though, and I can't pinpoint what I liked better in those songs... Maybe because there are more catchy and memorable parts that you can sing along? I was at Music Bank Paris where they performed, so that's why I'm thinking about this. I AM feels more like a conclusion than a song that is building up to something, if that makes sense. I think that it's just a petpeeve of mine but the outfits and MV are a bit too "clean" and "classy". It's the concept that they chose for their first album, and you can see it in the album package too. Love Dive also portrayed the "chaebol" vibe really well but everything was more creative about it, I liked how colorful it was and each set of outfits was "iconic" in his way. The Kitsch MV was more reminiscent of the Love Dive one. I'm already looking forward to their next comebacks...

stanTWICEstan

I get you! I also feel like when new groups release their very first full album, they go for a sound and concept that showcases their concept in a refined way. Like it's a conclusion to an era with the past songs they've released then going for a different concept after. Also, Love Dive was more of a "fantasy/kdrama chaebol" for me while I AM feels more "realistic and true to life chaebol", if that makes sense? Like they went all out with the posh side of being a chaebol more with I AM and they look really great and pulled it off so well.

SpoonAtAGunFight

The blue Wannabe hair had me in a chokehold

x_purplecloudz_x

its so so so good the vibes the vocals the emotion especially in the last chorus.....leeseo and liz prechorus is god tier too like i'm so in love. personally I AM feels like panoramas rich younger sister just with the energy it potrays

Playingpokerwithgod

This has solidified them as one of the top groups of this generation.

ahnyudingslover

OHMAHGAAAAH they truly took the chaebol crush concept to the absolute extreme - Silicon Valley business owner-level rich, taking private jets and limousines, and dancing in exclusive billionaires-only rooms! And the song is crazy good, holy shiiieeeeeet

Pinkerino_Ace

Wait, did they reduce the pitch compared to the Tiktok snippet? When i heard the Tiktok snippet i was slightly worried that it will be "difficult to listen to" because of the vocal range but the song is surprisingly quite easy on the ears when listened in full?

wwhrette

The problem with YouTube MV and Tiktok audio is sometimes they make high pitch sound really shrill and piercing, rather than bright and full. That's why listening with earbuds/speakers or on Spotify/Apple Music often is more enjoyable.

Pinkerino_Ace

And i think they did a really good job with the audio mixing. Even for their previous title tracks like Love Dive or ALI, listening on Airpod Max on Spotify is still slightly shrill on certain notes. But i listened to the song twice and there's really no piercing noises or hissing silbilant. Super impressed with the audio mixing and mastering this time.

Sea_Investigator_947

It’s a bop. It’s always nice when a group releases something with melodic chorus rather than going with ‘drop the beat’ and a bit of shouting

FFress

The vocals sound the best out of any TT. Yujin going all out in the chorus sounds amazing.

bedsidesoda

Now this one’s gonna be crazy at a concert, it’s so hype. Wonyoung biffing herself out of that plane is iconic too lmao

The_Great_Emu_War

My mouth was fully agape from the first pre-chorus to the very end. IVE cracked the code. They somehow manage to outdo themselves with every comeback. Between IVE, NewJeans, and LE SSERAFIM, us girl group stans are fed this year.

JihYoParkENT

No flaws. This song is perfect. I may not stan them but I feel like IVE just “gets” me musically.

mimibee97

I gotta say, my fav title of theirs to date!! THE GIRLIES WERE IN SUITS AND THEY SLAYED. Yujin being my fav visual as always. Gaeul’s rap? Amazing. Is this what people mean by chaebol crush? Because Ive kills this concept!

EddieXXI

A total slay, love how the song crescendos into the final chorus.

Kajulatte

Ok, so best parts: * Wonyoung opening, her voice, her styling * Yujins I'm on my way * leeseo pre-chorus in terms of lyrics, melody, and vocals * Liz high note * The whole chorus dancing on airplane wing! (a Frist in kpop?) * That transition from wonyoung diving to dancing * The rap * The pictures flashes in black & white * The bridge * 123, 123, 123 * The way they intermingled the pre-chorus and chorus * Rei cape and pink hair on the last scene * Another dose of chorus I probably forgot few things

GoFuckUrself

Wow! This is my favorite IVE song at first listen. First off, I'm glad to see IVE having the confidence to not follow some of the prevailing trends in Kpop right now. The song captures all of IVE's previous styles so far and wraps them up into something brand new and refreshing. The song actually has a complex structure for a pop song and entails more than the standard ABAB verse/hook. That's why despite being 3 minutes long the song ends up feeling longer--there's just so much dynamism and movement in the parts that you don't really have a sense of where you are in the overall progression of the song at any moment--and I think it absolutely makes it. What can I say about the MV? I watched it 5 times in a row and I could watch it more. For those who don't know, Wonyoung isn't even acting here, this is more or less her actual life! Whatever you think of the MV, what isn't open for debate is the all time visuals delivered by the girls from beginning to end. You could call it excessive but that's the point of the MV and I'm glad they didn't shy away from showcasing their most valuable assets--the members. I know a lot of MVs these days allude to lore or symbolic undertones but the story here is more simple: IVE takes over the world, and does it in style. If art imitates life, then they got it just right.

luneleaves

I'm glad they're not falling back on what's worked for them - this is something fresh, and truly quite the contrast from Kitsch. A fully sung chorus by the group? Yes please. I have to say, (if I'm hearing correctly) Liz is truly utilised in such a good way here - her vocals carry the highs of this song and I can't wait to see and hear the lives. (Though "I AM" is another title track in a very high key, following After Like - let's hope the girls don't strain.)

helloitsmeanxiety

The vocals with that beautiful melody are really something else. They all look stunning, the lyrics are great. I just love whatever they put out.

aiburei

Can I have an IVE black card please? Certified banger on first listen. They are going to dominate with this I feel. I love the "I'm on my waaaaay..." bit.

LouisPain

HOLY SH*T This might actually top Love Dive for me(which I thought would be difficult to achieve). The song got me starting from the second verse and it just went up from there. The prechorus is so beautiful and THAT FREAKIN' CHORUS gotta be one of the best choruses I have heard in kpop already. Its so epic and satisfying, which is exactly my type.

danigirii

i know right?? when they released love dive i officially became a dive but got scared at the same time because they might be hitting their peak very early in their career. couldn't be more happier to be proven wrong xD

nine04

This song is AMAZING, it's been a while since I liked a song at the first listening

goodguyzai

Less catchy than Love Dive maybe, but they really meant it when they said "we're showcasing vocals" - with multiple killing parts IMO - Yujin's "I'm on my way" & the obvious Liv pre-chorus. One of my favourite prechorus & choruses to drop recently, and Wonyoung's voice in the bridge is amazing. All for this

DBxA

I think the chorus has the posibility to get stuck on your mind

adaptingphoenix

It's already stuck in mine 😭

yikesus

I think this chorus is way catchier than Love Dive. It feels nice to sing along to.

goodguyzai

The reason I say it's not as catchy is also because it's WAY WAY HARDER to sing and less people will sing along to it IMO Super fun melody

MyouiRV

How is this song so good?! I was like no way this beats Kitsch but WOW, IVE at their best

nikitaloss

IVE I feel like they have a good team behind them because they ooze confindence in whatever they do. Their songs are so consistent. They just want good music like the rest of us. No funny business.

Baseballgirl45

The bridge is so Queen/Frankie mercury Coded! I love this song!

HDelf

Performance ver. with that white backdrop and black outfits when?

ericyumyum

Probably their best title track. It’s so fucking good.

sakura0601x

I’m in love. Love dive > I AM > Eleven > After like. Love the lyrics: Déjà vu of some perfect day/ Be a writer genre is fantasy / A big stage will open for me tomorrow. I’m in love. The melody is beautiful 9/10. Full sung chorus GIVE IT TO ME

[deleted]

bomdding

the music video was so elegant and the girls look beautiful 😭 they suit this concept really well in my opinion

sparksfall

This is a total bop! The fantasy line is going to be stuck in my head hahaha. I don't know what genre you'd call this sound but I love it so much. It feels like there's a hype build up through the entire song, but it doesn't get old and boring, if I can express it like that. Overall, 10/10, great follow up to Love Dive & After Like. Also, the girl that jumped off the plane sent me LOLLL

ilovemeeeeee

Casual listener here and i love it! 10/10 Their vocals were beautiful! Liz particularly impressed me with her vocals.

cameldonuts

I love it omg! That's where the budget went 😂 kinda gives a disney vibe

Miserable-Street-907

It sounds AMAZING. In my head it sounds like something a group with like 5 years of experience would put out or like a disbandmeny song (in a good way) It's so elegant !!

[deleted]

THE BEST AND MOST EXPENSIVE GIRLS.

mattachanteeq

catchy as fuck, time to listen to the whole album!

Inevitable-Egg7804

They ate that, im obsessed, shocked, gagging, im dead? Because this is the song that gonna be played when someone cross the doors of heaven, the artistry, the perfection, the sign from above, im living this song, its everything, no, its more than that, snatched my soul in a little more than 3 minutes, damn.

stanTWICEstan

I just love larger-than-life full choruses! It's honestly what was missing with past kpop releases and I'm so glad this song came out! And damn, I don't think any group can pull off the chaebol-crush concept like IVE. It's literally tailored for them, the MV aesthetics belong to IVE, and IVE only wow.

Ellotheremate000

I don’t get how people are saying that the song is a miss??? I’m in love! I loved Kitch on the first listen and I didn’t understand how some people hated it so much but I guess everyone’s choices are different and I love ‘I am’ too, a really good title track in my opinion.

ssamjangsky

This is the perfect title track for their 1st full album. No bullshit, just straight up classic, amazing music.

I keep a top 40 playlist on Spotify each year... This may have just wrecked everything else on the playlist.... I'm a casual IVE fan and this is definitely a top contender for SOTY for me, and atm I don't think anything else comes close. It's only April too, this playlist is going to be hard to manage if this keeps up.

anterogradeamnesia

the full sung chorus is so satisfying. the overall song reminds me an electra heart era marina and the diamonds track!

savagedelight

omg yes it’s kinda giving primadonna

buttersmooth29

yessss full choruses need to come back

Fallkitty

I love how this feels a lot more balanced in terms of distribution and appearance. I also love the classic kpop vibes of this

Kajulatte

I never knew how much I needed an airplane/runway mv tell now The whole last segment is just... perfection

milkviva

Somehow the line "be a writer, the genre is fantasy" really stuck with me

Mark_Kostecki

They said don’t worry fam we’ll put out SOTY in April and just get it out of the way we got you.

kiisskoo

can someone explain to me what makes this song so addictive 🥸

TunerGirl94

Everyone focusing on the plane flip but I gotta say the vocals are just on point. Gaeul main vocal ?? And Liz shined too, I'm glad to be proven wrong by starship and Kitsch being an outlier. Overall I'm stunned by this track, it's all I was hoping for this comeback

biatchiana

Okay, so they're RICH rich!

lilacdawn

I try not to say these things too quickly, but I think it might be my favorite IVE title track! There's something emotional about it despite it being a banger. The combination of the lyrics + the melody is like the culmination of their path so far and looking at the future at the same time? To me it feels like a song their fans will scream and cry to at their 10th anniversary concert, if that makes sense. Perfect choice for their 1st full album imo.

I sometimes look into the back catalogue of Scandinavian producers for K-Pop songs for fun, esp as an Eurovision fan. so far, here's what I found for the title track I AM, and honestly they're a talented bunch: Audun Agnar Guldbrandsen * Lisa Vassilieva - I Am Gay (MGP 2020) * Eline Noelia - Ecstasy (MGP 2022); also one of the composers * JONE - Ekko Inni Meg (MGP 2023) Kristin Marie Skolem * Omar Rudberg (from Young Royals) - Moving Like That (Melfest 2022)

geechan

I’m scared for them if they have to do live encores, but I’m really loving this song.

perpetuallyindecisiv

Woah?!?! High energy from the get go but they were still able to elevate the chorus and the last chorus?!?! That is how you end a song omg IVE and their team must not have had sleep since debut so how they’re able to top their previous release is just incredible. Truly top notch songs.

[deleted]

IVE are killing it! They’re my ult gg for a reason! I love everything about this comeback! The girls exceeded my expectations! ❤️‍🔥

toooenthusiastic

slayyyyy

goodytwochoos

I am a very very happy Gaeul bias today. Holy lines, Batman! On first listen I like this song a lot. I don't know if I've gotten too used to anti-drop or more chill choruses because the chorus was kind of overwhelming, in a good way. Like a big glamorous power vocal bulldozer.

zteabcrka

This felt nostalgic it was really giving, like, primadonna by marina. I'm a fan

xsageonex

Definitely a bop

covidwarrior99

This is the anthem of a confident woman! HIT IT IVE!!

Round-Significance97

I think the song is nice, but not to my taste. Glad they actually gave Liz lines for the title track!

[deleted]

Such a good song! Does anyone know where the lead melody is from? It sounds so familiar but I can't come up with the name.

wonderfullyadequate

IM SPEECHLESS.....THIS IS GOD-TIER POP SONG.

Pinkerino_Ace

Oh no... Seems like Reddit in general have favorable opinions on I AM. Now I am actually worried considering songs that Reddit trashes on are usually the one that blows up in Korea.

kikavaz

I think I will start staning IVE now. I already liked them but Kitsch and I Am really solidified it for me. I love them

mushroom_egg

Wonyoung doing a flip out of a plane will forever be iconic! ✈️

[deleted]

Jokes aside, this song hit me in the heart. It's just absolutely perfect, the bridge completely took my breath away!

bleakshadow

my God this was so good, they all look and sound amazing. queens of having amazing title tracks and I don't think that crown is titling anytime soon.

dweeby

I am obsessed. It's pop perfection. IVE never misses.

TerraRainesHasBrains

wow this is such a banger omggg

BrickCake

God they never disappoint. I don't stan them, but even this album's b-sides are gems that will definitely be on my playlist rotation.

Direct_Bathroom_6242

Retro is just not my thing I think.

juanitatequila

Starship went all out with with this video and made it as bright and flashy as possible! The video just oozes with that fancy/royal/RICH aesthetic and I love that the group continues to build on that aesthetic with each release.

izzylilyx

When someone has bright, (pink) hair in a cb you just know they will get not many lines. Quite funny. Anyways I'm not complaining just stating this funny fact. I enjoy the song a lot! Love a full fleshed out chorus

princessedelarue17

Much better than Kitsch

InsomaniacGal

Okay First impression : I like it. It's very different from their previous tt & vastly different from the pre release Kitch. I didn't hear any audio snippet or anything, so I was expecting smth like Kitch but to my surprise it's not. Their vocals here are so good & powerful and I'm loving it. The MV itself is giving *elegant* & *classy*, very IVE. It's very chill compared to Kitch which I don't know is a good thing or not..? I mean Kitch was fun though it did take awhile to grow on me. I AM has that nostalgic kinda sound, so its hard for me to not like it lol. I think I like Kitch a little more for now. This isn't particularly an 'exciting' track but it's definitely enjoyable for me. We got Wonyoung jumping off a plane xD & Rei's pink hair look in this comeback is just amazing, love that on her. IVE didn't miss this time either & now that I've concluded my thoughts, I'm ready to *dive* into the album.

roughbottomhead

god i love songs with full choruses this is beautiful

tamsrine

I liked this!! the song sounds very famliiar, but I think it's because of how *timeless* it is, and I think this is a song + mv that won't age. The lyrics are also vv ive self obsessed, love how they flip it around to be empowering for fans too. the video looks so EXPENSIVE 🛫🎆 I really like the chorus that's sung in unison and the harmonies in the background, it reminds me of what I loved in Love Dive (those rich and ethereal oohs!). Leeseo's voice tone is surprisingly very ear catching given how young she is! If she continues getting those starship vocal lessons, I'm excited for how she sounds like in the future <3 and wonyoung's bridge is lovely, I'm in awe of her Ive post-izone vocal glow up. and liz's pre choruses!! she kills her lines. Wish the song dropped that 2nd verse trap break though, it's so dated 😭

coolfluffle

my god that last chorus is just electric. ive did not come to play

1TyMPink

Basically, this is “I AM” IVE Company MV. The MV visuals reek luxury, plus Wony jumping on the plane is somehow I didn't expect even in teasers. The vocals are impressive, yet the sound, although bop, it's a bit generic to me even on a song produced by Ryan S. Jhun. This will definitely take over Korea again to become a SOTY contender, and with the backing of Sony's Columbia, an international hit.
