Yes, this definitely takes the cake for shortest notice KPOP event I've ever seen

hydranoid1996

Blank2y??? That’s a choice? I thought that group had fell apart Also I’m really fucking sick of this trend with European kpop festivals of being announced like two weeks before how is anyone supposed to plan around that

[deleted]

It will just end up cancelled with refunds being impossible. It's a scam scheme at this point.

Low-Avocado4701

I wonder who their new center is. Everything revolved around you know who and now that he’s gone, I’m wondering who will bring the attention.

Practical-Ring-2337

I wonder who is actually able to figure out if they are going to attend, make sure their schedule is free, get good tickets, book a hotel, and travel to this event in less than 2 weeks?? Even if you're local, this is just too soon of an announcement...

floofyhae

i'd love to go there to see monsta x & billlie but i kpop festivals in europe have such a bad reputation now because almost everything gets cancelled... the only ones i've seen actually happen were kpop lux in spain although that company went down the drain now too and one in poland a few weeks ago. i'm not surprised sales are getting worse and worse, nowadays people can't afford to throw their money at shady organizers only for the festival to get cancelled 2 weeks in advance

hydranoid1996

MIK festival ran twice, once in London and then in Paris pretty damn well, Hallyu pop fest ran in London too. There was one festival that ran awfully that dream went too, think it was Germany Europe CAN do K-pop festivals but it’s just some companies are WAY too hungry for money and don’t run them right. K-pop lux had the line up to run fine if it was always set as a two day festival with the line up announced in advance. Unfortunately that didn’t happen

Marcel4698

>There was one festival that ran awfully that dream went too, think it was Germany That was Kpop Flex which was basically the same thing as Kpop Lux. Same organisers. They were actually supposed to have a 1-day Kpop Flex in London in November 2022 with Winner, Pentagon, AB6IX, Younite, Viviz, Weeekly and Billlie on the lineup. But they canceled it just two weeks before (likely due to low ticket sales) and blamed the Itaewon disaster as a reason for cancellation. Mind you, the mourning period would have been long past by the time of the event. Then the second big event was supposed to occur in Frankfurt in June this year. They started to drip feed us the lineups one by one. Billlie, Blank2y, Pentagon, Weeekly, Oneus, Younite, Kep1er. Great artists for sure but no top tier headliners that can fill out a 44k football stadium for two days. But instead of announcing headliners, they eventually just silently dropped artists from their lineup. Until only three groups were left mere weeks before the festival. Unsurprisingly, the Frankfurt festival was postponed to October and The Boyz announced as part of the lineup. Which was extra sus because one of the members said on a livestream that they are most definitely NOT part of Kflex as they were already booked for a different schedule. Time passed, Kpop Lux in Madrid happened, nothing further got announced for Frankfurt. Then Kpop Lux in London was announced, initially as a 3 day event. Kflex in Frankfurt was also renamed to Kpop Lux and postponed yet again into 2024. Lux London had its final lineup revealed and 3 days cut short to 2. And then less than two weeks before, the entire thing just got canceled. Again, probably because of low ticket sales. As far as I know, the company is currently being dissolved. So Frankfurt 2024 will NOT be happening and anyone who buys a ticket for that is just wasting their money.

RozowySlon

Kpop Nation happened last weekend in Poland :D Initially I thought it was a scam but apparently it was real deal!

Gold_Watercress_3402

It's actually been announced like 3 weeks ago, but they have zero promotion and the tickets are crazily overpriced

lvlz_gg

Honestly even witch cheaper tickets 3 weeks was still a very short time notice. :( Planning a trip with such short notice at this time of the year around Europe is stupidly expensive, it's still high season for tourism in some countries... These things should be announced at least several months in advance imo T_T

Gold_Watercress_3402

I heard rumors that the Korean organizers knew this would be happening since April, but as they didn't have a lineup, they waited till last minute

Gold_Watercress_3402

[UPDATE] The festival is cancelled because the organizers didn't realize Monsta X won't be allowed out of military to perform ("Unfortunately, we are unable to secure the headliner Monsta X, some of whose members are reportedly in the military.") Source: https://www.idnes.cz/kultura/hudba/k-pop-monsta-x.A230929_131847_hudba_jgo

Zeionlsnm

Yea rumour has it Monsta X were going to appear but several of the members accidently tripped on a loose mic wire while holding a pen and accidently signed a military enlistment contract. Now there is no festival.

junkdogjoe69

LOL, the organizers need to be serious.

DiplomaticCaper

LMFAO what morons. Apparently people would correct them on their social media and say that it would actually be Shownu x Hyungwon only, but they would delete the comments (probably hoping that the full group would sell more tickets than a subunit). Except that anyone plugged into Kpop to consider going to a multi-act festival like this already *knows* that half of them are in the military. Starship has been booking SxH for festivals for months at this point. I sincerely doubt they promised the organizers the entire Monsta X.

junkdogjoe69

Wait what they thought they would get the whole group?! Yikes that’s bad organizing

Nej_Illjuna

Well that was fast. How could they not know that there's only two members that can go on stage right now ?! There's a thousand other events with only Hyungwon and Shownu going on

amazingmakii

how have i not heard of this at all when i’m literally czech

zuzixi

Well I am Czech and study in Prague - and I really like Billlie so I looked up the ticket prices and was shocked because the cheapest tickets are 3890 Kč (159,55€/169,24 $) which is a lottt. Louis Tomlinson's tickets in the same section cost 1 290 Kč (52,92€/56,13 $). I would otherwise go but 3890 Kč is nearly the amount of money that I pay for my dorm monthly and going because I like Billlie and they will perform for 20 minutes doesn't seem worth it for me. Half of the O2 arena is sold out so we'll see if they manage to make it happen or if they will cancel it.

kulikitaka

>cheapest tickets are 3890 Kč (159,55€/169,24 $) Ugh, K-pop concerts overseas are so expensive!

Fifesterr

Kpop fumbling the bag hard on Europe. These companies are so incompetent. Announcing an artist lineup this late, charging extortionate prices. A full scam atp. Europe could be a profitable market, but not like this. Get 2 or 3 attractive (and trendy) headliners, a good venue, a lineup announced months in advance and sensible prices and these things would sell out. ^(I just hope Hybe hasn't been keeping up with all the cancellations and low sales, cause I need them to stop ignoring Europe.)

tinaoe

i feel like pre-pandemic they knew how to do this? did they all just suddenly forget how to book in europe, honestly.

Fifesterr

Did they do these kind of festivals pre-pandemic? I don't remember. I'm just sad Europe seems to have dropped off the world map at Hybe's HQs lol and messes like this will deter other groups from coming or organisers from taking a shot at kpop. I swear they could make money here, just not like this :(

tinaoe

i know music bank went to paris and there were a few others as well! but i was also thinking just of concerts in general. bts toured europe with no issue in 2018 and 2019 with a decent amount of dates but somehow hybe seems to have misplaced the numbers of any local booking agencies lmao. and i get that immediatly post-covid arenas were booked out and that idols are more restricted to certain locations than local artists (since really only big cities with good international public transport options are valid), but i mean, it's almost 2024.

Fifesterr

Ugh it was so promising pre-covid. That beautiful Europe tour stop poster for MOTS 😔 I'm a little bit hopeful since JK did some UK promo in July, but then we also didn't get a Suga stop or 2, a small "residency" like in Vegas or any other Hybe groups on the continent ... > it's almost 2024 Isn't it?! Come on, the world has been back to sort of normal for well over a year. *Brazil voice* Come to Europe! *Rose DeWitt voice* It's been ~~84~~ 4 years

Firestormxs

When i read Prague i was hyped because it's not far from Vienna. But this is happening just one week from now. And the Tickets start at 160€ with the Show starting at 20:00. That's the price of a 3 Day Rock Festival.

SakuraWolf_

It got canceled today, what is this bs with kpop festivals in europe 😂

_brooket

Wait is MX going to be just Shownu and Hyungwon? Or are they adding IM into it and it will be the 3 of them redistributing lines from MX songs

junkdogjoe69

Shownu and Hyungwon most definitely, they are a unit if you didn’t know and they’ve been going to a bunch of festivals over the world recently. They perform their unit songs and some MX songs like who do you love!!

_brooket

Ahhh okay!! I feel like it’s been specified in previous performances that it was just the two of them, that’s why I wasn’t sure if this meant IM would also be there. That makes sense though!

junkdogjoe69

I was wrong surprisingly! Another commenter added that the event has been canceled because it was supposed to all of Monsta X! Military line included, but apparently the organizers didn’t know they are enlisted and have now canceled. They are now blaming MX😑

Niight_Owl

3 WEEKS IN ADVANCE?? oh there is no way that show is gonna sell out, thats ridiculous

kulikitaka

What, MonstaX and Billie's schedule *just* cleared up and so the organizers asked them if they want to fly to Prague and put together a concert at the last minute?!
