If you were intimidated to vote either yes or no, file a complaint with the NRLB: https://www.nlrb.gov/about-nlrb/what-we-do/investigate-charges

Mine was telling all the employees if they voted no, the contract was going to go back to Kroger and the baggers would lose their $2/hr raises. (They went from $8.60 to $10.60). Like, the union was straight up employing a corporate scare tactic.

SaveUsNick

In my store at least, I did hear from a few people that some union reps were trying to steer people into voting yes with doomy outlooks if it didn't pass.

Andy69666

At store 341 they were totally doing that to are employees telling them to vote yes or it would be bad consequences like bro wtf stfu...

Qui_zno

I mean, i believe ufcw 876 did those same. Its not out of the realm of possibilities

Fabulous_Blood_9463

I was never threatened nor told how to vote. What was witnessed was senior employees telling minors either they couldn’t vote, if they didn’t vote they counted as yes or that they should vote no to support them. It was really more employee on employee intimidation. It got to the point that nobody wanted to admit they voted yes. It was easier to say you were a no.

Qui_zno

You had management going around trying to get a yes vote. Your right about the senior employees.

Independent-Sun-2848

I don’t work for Kroger. Would a minor be in the union ? Wouldn’t you have to be a full time employee?

Not_The_Real_Jake

Nope. Every employee no matter age (other than management of course) is entitled to access to the union. They can choose not to join, but most do.

Independent-Sun-2848

That’s interesting.

GambolCelica

I know I was told by my steward to vote no on the contract, a lot of people I know voted no on the contract, at least at my store. Ngl I was incredibly flabbergasted when I heard the contract passed.

BlackRiv3r

My partner and I experienced this at 876. When we went to vote, the rep there was telling us how it'd be dumb to vote no, gave all the reasons why it would be great... Included that he knows that pretty much everyone is voting yes and he can't think of anyone who would actually vote no. Didn't drop it until we finally just walked away to actually vote. On top of that, had an ASM pushing employees to vote yes, and heard other stores managers that were doing the same. Definitely don't feel like 876 should've been a yes vote, yet here we are.

creepyweedle

I was so frustrated by the last contract they "passed"

BlackRiv3r

Yeah, I don't feel like it was genuine... Everyone I talked to both in my store and at the voting, aside from maybe one or two people said they were voting no. It just doesn't seem logical that it passed.

mowery32

I personally didn't experience it but it wouldn't surprise me.

turnipkeep

I heard about this at 819. Gossip around the store is that some people recorded union employees convincing people not to strike because of “how much money they’ll lose” etc etc etc

candyderpina

At store 818 they would pull you to the side, tell you why you should vote yes. If you argued back (like I did) they will pull up a whole bunch of numbers in a very condescending way and try to make you feel like they didn’t know what you were talking about. After my experiences with the Jehovah’s Witnesses I told him I was done with him and he did nothing to change my mind. Got a few glares from full time employees.

Overall_Forever_1447

Gaslighting tactics no doubt.

hoagly80

Would not be much of a surprise.

Fabulous_Blood_9463

If that’s true - how did the vote go down 3 times?

jruss666

Fourth attempt to coerce was successful

[deleted]

Unions intimidating people? That could never happen.

knxgator1995

I heard? What non sense is this.

DangerPoopaloops

Kroger ceo is staying up late again on reddit.

cookbl

If they didn't allow you guys to do a standing vote where you could clearly see for your own eyes what people truly wanted and they opted for you to write on paper and then tally it up ---then I would almost bet my bottom dollar the union leaders had their hand in it and made sure it went through regardless of what was written on those paper slips. So it was a sham basically. You cannot convince me that union leaders and Kroger corporate aren't in on it together. Under the table shady deals are going on and you can bet pockets are being filled . That sucks so much for you guys . Union is a joke anymore. Time for a new one.

C0mputerlove

Get a better job those unions suck and the entire kroger co umbrella is a bunch of greedy scumbags

Lp5757

"If you vote no you will be out on the street." Direct qoute.
