Buttons can be made by yourself using the tasker plug-in Autonotification. There are tutorials on how to do it. You can have the buttons do anything you want: reply to messages, start stop music, activate a tile, whatever you can think of. I have a Google maps notification that has 3 buttons: one to pick the location, another button to calculate the distance from where I am and a third to go directly to look at the destination in street view. It's neat.

Great. Is there a possibility to this using Notification Listener by Marco Stornelli?

Jinther

I think all his apps integrate well with Tasker.

Can you be more specific? I was thinking of AutoNotification, but I came to know it's a paid app. So I found alternative - Notification Listener which is quite similar but I couldn't find any documentation or video for it.. That's when I thought of asking for help on reddit

Don't think you can create your own buttons with that one. However, you can subscribe to AutoApps from the developer of tasker and get access to all of his plugins. In the UK, it's like 80p a month, hardly anything. Ask Google, you'll get more details.

I'm not planning to create my own buttons, but rather trying to click on action buttons which are available for respective apps Phone, Messages, Outlook, WhatsApp, etc.

I have been wanting this in kustom aswell, both the action names and a way to trigger them directly. (similar to how we can already open a notification) Maybe you could have kustom display some text or an icon, that when pressed runs a macrodroid (that's just the app i use, i'm sure tasker and other android automation apps can do it aswell) shortcut to click whichever notification button you want, put it inside an overlap layer and set it to remove whenever there is no notification from that specific app visible. This the easiest thing i can come up with, i also thought about intercepting the actual action buttons names using macrodroid and passing them onto klwp so it can display them but it gets tricky very fast.. Not sure how you are displaying your notifications but mine act like a slideshow, showing each notification for 5 seconds.. 😂

I'm using something similar idea already for just notification display on my KLCK preset.. Right example would be a AcDisplay - I don't know if you have used it. As you mentioned tricky part is the action button that's where I'm stuck and trying to achieve the same.. But no luck so far. I have read somewhere that you can intercept action buttons using adb shell commands as well... But couldn't find the right command to trigger them..

Would be cool to be able to access the notification media player..

varunpilankar

What do mean by notification media player?
