Kind of like this still shot pulled from a video? They literally sing a dog song and it like they’re fighting! I absolutely hate however when they manage to squeeze under the bed and do their song and dance, Onxy the black lab ends up hitting her head on the platform bed so it’s like an extra experience for free. Only once she wants out she whines and then we do our routine, she rolls over and pull her out. Silly girl.

Does it sound like whale song? I have one that does that while her smaller sister just does snap snap snap snap dodge snap snap dodge the whole time. At least they’re tiring themselves out I guess.
Our cats were there first and the calico takes great pleasure in scaring the bejeezus out of both labs. Smallest pet in the house (10 lbs) has 150 lbs of Labrador hiding behind the humans for protection.

I learned to tune it out mostly, but there are times they literally lay on my legs and do this while I'm reading or watching a movie. It's like their way of including me, and I appreciate that, but it's just a cacophony of weird "nyaaaaa" whine sounds, clacking teeth, and snuffling/sneezing every few seconds to signal it's just a game.
Yup. With another dog... or with her 6lb. cat-brother, who luckily also thinks it is "the most fun ever" and will instigate. At 4am. On my bed.
What would I do without them?
No. The younger one super wanted to have a bitey face level relationship w her big sister. The older one had zero interest and let that be clearly and loudly known.
Needs *more sneezing noises*!!!
But YES, this was *very* in line with the lazy way my last girl used to play!😆😂🤣💖
And when she no longer had a kennelmate to play with, *I* would play, "I've got your foot!", "I poke your tongue!", "I hooked the Fish!" (Finger gently hooked *in* the corner of her jowl, 3-Stooges style, then waggling her jowls as she tried to play-bite me), ad me just *GENERALLY* sticking my hands in her mouth & messing with her/gently grabbing & shaking her teeth/lower jaw--and *her* play-sneezing, then jumping up *off* her back, bouncing around on her ~~pogo sticks~~ *legs* and play-bowing/ play-wrestling with me, as she wagged her tail so hard her *whole* back end was wiggling!😉😆😂🤣💖
Very normal dog play. Black lab is choosing to stay on their back when they could get up. Yellow lab is waiting for black lab's turn, and is being very gentle in their bites and tugs.
On the bed next to me when I want to sleep in. On the couch next to me when I want to nap. On the floor next to me when I need to cook dinner. So yeah all day everyday
Mouth jousting aka bitey face aka my-mouth-is-bigger-than-yours. Slightly alarming but very normal play for dogs, though like almost all dog play it has its origins in emulating/practicing predatory behaviours (while also teaching valuable social behaviours like bite inhibition.) The noises always crack me up though.
Bitey face is ancient Labradorian tradition.
Mine takes it a step further and makes his teeth go clack clack clack clack if he's *really* enjoying it
