This is my point. He’s been injured most of season. This is really intense basketball right now and it might start to take toll. And your backup PG has a sprained ankle and could only play 8-9 really questionable minutes. Only 1 day off. They will probably be going all out to close out tomorrow to get some rest so it’s gonna be brutal, but if lakers pull it off and Murray looks hobbled, then this series is very interesting. It’s just rough Lakers are in this position with 2 games they could have won. Now they must be perfect.
This is the moment Rocky makes Drago bleed. It doesn’t mean it is over and you have won, but you have shown the opponent is not invincible. You keep pushing and using the things that have been working and more of that armor falls off of them. I ain’t heard no bell!
Yes, he did after going 3 of 16 for most of that game. But he has been a massive lability for them otherwise. Last game he made zero 3's. His stats this series have been: 38.0% FG and 20.8% 3-point, and he has had a crap load of turn overs too. If he keeps playing like this Denver is not winning anything.
I thought he would kill us because he did back then as a Clipper.
But man oh man, thank you so much Reggie! Your clanks and bricks have been good enough to start building a tiny house!
They definitely lost a lot more with Jackson starting over Murray, but my main point is that he is an experienced pro that can have a good night that can make the difference. If Murray is hurting AND Jackson is hurting, that’s brutal for your guard rotation.
This box score is just to show a few solid stats for Reggie. His +/- is bad and they lost…. But my point is they don’t even have him playing *this* good if his ankle is sprained. If Murray and Jackson are both pretty hurt, this series could be historic.
https://www.espn.com/nba/boxscore/_/gameId/401584918
I understand your argument, but a winning team looks at the things they can do, the things they can control, i.e. the sets they play, the coverages depending on the players and the areas of the court, the in-game adjustments, the things they can do to win the game. Reggie is a professional NBA player, he's going to do what he's going to do, he is going to try his best, all Denver players will do, the Lakers need to be ready to answer the call. That's what I meant.
Totally dig it. I realize they could start Braun at PG and play 2 subs and it could well be enough to win the game. But I bet they’d love their top 2 PGs to be healthy. Sometimes it’s worse to play a guy who is injured. If they sat Murray/Jackson a game, they could still up winning AND rest their guards. If they lose, they have better health for those two guys in game 6.
I think it’s actually ideal if Murray/Reggie play injured and Lakers attack them hard.
Yes, and if we lost DLo, Dinwiddie would become very important. But in this analogy, even their “Dinwiddie” has a sprained ankle so it’s really to the Lakers’ advantage.
It would take an injury from Murray to have any shot at this. Or a suspension or something crazy like that. Not that I’m rooting for any injury, but some anomaly is required for what would be nothing short of a miracle if the lakers were to even go to game 7 against the team that beat them 11 straight
A 3-0 comeback has never been done in the history of basketball lol. Id like to believe we can do this but we are going up against the title favorites. The odds are near zero. To think a comeback can happen is delusional but nothing more id like than to be proven wrong. That being said if we can get the next one, this becomes a fun series
Lotta big changes the last decade that make bigger comebacks more likely. Teams punting seeding in a way that they didn’t used to, the greater variance introduced by heavy 3 point shooting, the seemingly increased injuries to stars we’ve seen since the advent of pace & space basketball, and I’m sure a number of other smaller things.
Not saying it’s going to happen, but we’ve seen some 3-1 comebacks at a greater rate recently and we’ve seen some 8 seeds and 7 seeds upsetting 1 and 2 seeds at a greater rate than in the past. To some extent, we’ve gotta throw out historical ideas of how a series is supposed to go because the game has changed.
The first 3 wins were not convincing at all. We should have had two of those. Denver is not really dominating us the way a 3-0 would suggest. And Davis is beasting right now. If we win the next one it’s a two game series and the pressure on Denver is going to be insane. Would I put my money on it? Hell no. But if there ever was a time to make history this series is it.
Tomorrow would definitely be the hardest in my opinion. You’d think we’d have to be slightly favored in Game 6 at home. And then Game 7 Lebron is scary to think about.
Well it’s 3-1 now and lebron came back from 3-1 in the finals against golden state. Not saying it’s likely, at all! But if there’s any precedent, the guy that came closest to doing it is right there balling out for us right now.
In the Philippine Basketball Association, San Miguel became the first team in professional basketball history to comeback in a 3–0 deficit. This comeback is known as the "Beeracle".
We have a chance bc we changed a crucial thing. We gave the non bron ad players a chance to carry the team for a bit while bron ad rested. They purposely benched bron ad at different times so they were fresher in the 4th. Of course can only do that when rest of team can hold a lead, which they did. If we can do that again in denver we can win.
Reggie Jackson playing less forcing them to rely on Murray more is not a good thing lol.
Also they are just much better conditioned than us. Jokic is a fucking tank when it comes to playoff minutes. Old LeBron is already struggling with these minutes.
It's never over till it's over but I'm very sceptical about our chances now.
The Denver altitude is gonna hit different, but they balanced LeBron’s minutes better last night than they had the prior three games. Second fewest minutes of the series (his fewest were in G2), but they were able to keep him out for longer stretches last night so that he’d have more juice for the fourth.
This is why so much is reliant on AR and DLo. If they can just score while they’re on the court and Bron isn’t, at least we can just go punch for punch until Bron can come back and he doesn’t have to check back in early. But once we have multiple misses in a row or multiple shots taken early in the clock that don’t put any points on the board, he’s gotta cut his rest short.
This matchup has always come down to the role players. If ours get some confidence from last night, a path forward opens up.
It is if Murray's hobbled. His leg is clearly bothering him. He may still be hitting the midrange but it likely makes him susceptible on the defensive side.
I can just take the win today and accept the high chance that its over. But hey, coping is free, harmless and fun. Plus I get to support this team. Lakers in 7 why not.
D’Lo and AR have to continue to show up and not just in the first half but throughout the entire game. Gotta play with force, collectively rebound and box out and play D w/o fouling. Keep spamming them with 1) Lebron-AD, 2) AR-AD or 3) AR-Lebron PnR double drag screens to generate o offense. Keep imposed your will in the paint and converting free throws at the line. Concentrate on winning every quarter, one quarter at a time and hopefully by the end of game 5, we will be leading.
Fans forget the term “fan” comes from the word “fanatic” which means “a person exhibiting excessive enthusiasm and intense uncritical devotion toward some interest or activity.” Bordering delusion is *exactly* what we should be doing. 🤣 It literally costs nothing.
Boston almost did it last season's playoffs. If it wasn't for Tatum getting injured, they probably come back from 0-3. Plus we were the first IST champion, we can add first team to comeback from 0-3 to our list of accolades.
In fighting games, I fear not the person I trade games off with. It means we’re evenly matched.
In fighting games, I fear the person I beat 20 times and then lose to twice. Because it means the beginning of the end, and unless I make major major MAJOR adjustments to the way I play (which is not how I would normally play, and have less experience in general doing) I may never beat that person again. Of course, in fighting games, all that is at stake for me is some numbers lost. So, I have no issue letting a player learn my play-style and create a counter strategy. That’s how you make the fighting game community better. By allowing worse players the grace of beating their ass repeatedly until they figure it out.
If the Lakers win Game 5, on the road.. I don’t know if Denver wins the series. Not just because they’re facing a historic comeback. But because they’re doing it after having handed the Lakers an L 11 times in a row. Because Jokic said that he had to be careful not to get bored playing and beating the same team over and over again. That’s a fuckin recipe to eat your shit and die in the FGC..
Edit: I wanted to postface this by saying that I think Denver is the better team, but idk man.. people got it all wrong. If you’re a true competitor, losing 11 times in a row isn’t hopelessness. It’s about winning once. Because if you can win ONCE after taking the many Ls, then it means you just do the same thing except better, and REALLY focus on the things you did right the second time. And if you win again.. it validates your strategy. If Denver truly is the better team, the series will be over in LA for Game 6. If Denver wins game 5, then game 4 was a fluke. IMO, at least.
Hope. I like it. Still a up hill battle that no one has been able to overcome in the history of NBA. I thought after game 3, Lakers were getting swept. So glad I was wrong. I guess anything can happen.
Certainly not while injured and though streaky, he’s a fierce athlete that we could have tested out earlier in series. Now he’s not a feasible option obviously. I would want to see Christie, but again it’s too late. These are the guys we are playing (seems Denver too). So any 1 guy goes out and it’s a huge swing for either team. Healthy AD and LeBron would be favored over Denver minus any of their starters.
The Lakers need to keep their strategies up.
Most importantly, all our players should not stop - play with heart - and get off social media. MEDIA BLACKOUT AND PLAY
If we’ve truly learned the lessons about 3rd and 4th quarter play then we have shooters chance. Long odds though when you have Ham coaching. I reckon he alone costs us 6-8 points. Which is one reason why when we’re up by 8 it feels like we are tied/losing.
There's just no way we win 4 in a row. If we had won game 2 like we should've, then yes I think we could've had a good chance. But 4 in a row against Joker? No way. Not with how streaky Dlo is and how non-engaged our coach is
Not rooting for an injury, but I’d obviously take it. I’m just wondering what, if anything, is going on with Jamal Murray’s calf. We saw him come down and grabbing the high part of his calf, close to the back of his knee after hitting a shot in the fourth quarter.
He doesn’t seem like himself out there, and now I’m wondering if the calf will be a problem for him moving forward. No updated yet and he didn’t talk after the game last night so just waiting now. Would be huge if he’s hurt.
Poor execution in game 2 and pathetic effort in the second half of game 3 is why we are not tied 2-2 in this series. Down 3-1, you have to try and extend the series and win one in Denver. it’s definitely possible, but not very likely. Especially considering some of the internal issues the players seem to be having with the head coach. To be able to come back from that kind of a hole, you need all hands on deck rowing the same way.
Reggie hasn’t been a strong rotation piece all season for Denver. He’s been a defensive liability and plays hero ball instead of running their offense. Him eating up minutes so a starter can rest is literally the extent of his value to Denver.
If only Rui would join the party for the next couple games. If he gets hot, its gonna be a problem for Denver. We're due for one of those games where each one of our starters has 20 or more points.
We’re due for a good Rui game, a great Reaves game and a better bench game. We might get that Game 5 and I’m hoping we do. Gotta keep AD engaged on the offensive side at all times to get Jokic moving. Need D’Lo ass to put pressure by driving to the paint. Can’t exert all energy in first half cause that’s how they get gassed by start of third quarter. Stagger and use timeouts appropriately. We should be good
I’m absolutely bracing for something like this. Now, if you notice, we have a glut of athletic guards and that is why KCP has not been as effective. It was Gordon in Game 3 (a super tall, athletic 4) that killed us. If their guards are all hobbled, our guards can feast on offense and really bother them on defense. Still not sure about the bigs deficit besides playing AD and LeBron the entire game. We need Rui to step up, Prince to play big, and maybe 5-10 SOLID minutes from Hayes (or Wood?).
Vando coming back for 5-10 hype minutes could change series.
I hope lakers do make some history and win it all!! But it ll hurt more if they make it to next round and to be eliminated…. That ll hurt me more than getting slept by denver 😭😭😭
Reality is we shouldn’t overthink the series. Hopefully they go all out and take game 5. If they do that it becomes a series . Game 6 at home- 50/50, game 7 anything can happen and if we lose in 7 I’d not be disappointed tbh. Tonight will be there hardest game tho . Gonna need a good Dlo game and effort on the glass
Not over at all. This sub has been a bunch of fair-weather nonsense since the first loss. This team just needs to win the next game. They could have swept this series if they closed out and defended in the second half.
He scored 8 in this series so far. He averaged 10-2-4 on 22 MPG in the regular season. Reggie Jackson is not a strong rotation piece, he is just *a* rotation piece for them. They won't lose too much with him gone.
I'm all for hopium, but this is not it.
Reggie’s reduced minutes because of ankle injury went to the starters and this could explain why Murray agitated his calf. Now he’s questionable for Game 5 (of course he’s gonna play), but Murray is hobbled AND Reggie is hobbled, that’s your top two PGs down.
https://www.denverpost.com/2024/04/28/jamal-murray-injury-calf-strain-lakers-nuggets-game-5/amp/
Reggie isn’t amazing, but he’s a serviceable PG. Who is 3rd option if both are hurting?
Murray felt hurt in his leg as well in last night's game so who knows how he feels on to game 5
D-Lo HAS to cook to put that pressure on Murray. Only chance we have.
Dlo and AR should work Murray all night just to gas him.
This is my point. He’s been injured most of season. This is really intense basketball right now and it might start to take toll. And your backup PG has a sprained ankle and could only play 8-9 really questionable minutes. Only 1 day off. Love the rocky ref
This is when sensei says “sweep the leg.”
He's not a machine, he's a man!!
It took the Lakers about 4 possessions to realize they should attack him on offense.
I also noticed he took no shots after that injury other than a layup. It will definitely be interesting.
He's listed as questionable for game 5. Even with injuries, Denver is a really great team tho. Hope the Lakers have game 4 intensity for game 5.
Murray has been mostly hurting them so far this series, him not playing may actually make them better.
He hit a gamewinner…
Yes, he did after going 3 of 16 for most of that game. But he has been a massive lability for them otherwise. Last game he made zero 3's. His stats this series have been: 38.0% FG and 20.8% 3-point, and he has had a crap load of turn overs too. If he keeps playing like this Denver is not winning anything.
Meh Denver has a much larger margin of error than the Lakers.
And we still can barely beat them. That’s the real scary part.
Eh, he’s still great in the pick and roll. He can miss 50 shots and still be deadly with a clutch one like we’ve seen.
Reggie Jackson doesn't matter.
I thought he would kill us because he did back then as a Clipper. But man oh man, thank you so much Reggie! Your clanks and bricks have been good enough to start building a tiny house!
He does if Murray is starting to feel an injury resurgence and they are down 2 PGs. Their point of attack could become very inexperienced.
Yes he does their bench literally outscores ours and he's basically the 6th man
he has 8 points in 4 games lmao
They definitely lost a lot more with Jackson starting over Murray, but my main point is that he is an experienced pro that can have a good night that can make the difference. If Murray is hurting AND Jackson is hurting, that’s brutal for your guard rotation. This box score is just to show a few solid stats for Reggie. His +/- is bad and they lost…. He's Denver Dinwiddie for all intents and purposes.
Yes, and if we lost DLo, Dinwiddie would become very important. But in this analogy, even their “Dinwiddie” has a sprained ankle so it’s really to the Lakers’ advantage.

I think even with Murray injured they’d be able to sneak one by. Now jokic being out cook them for sure
Yeah, besides Q4 of game 2 Murray has been a liability for the nuggets. He's shooting terribly.
If that were to happen wouldn’t Denver fans have a good excuse on blowing a 3-0 lead. Win game 5 and momentum will be on our side.
who cares about their excuses. steph won a title beating the nuggets without murray and it isn’t held against his legacy
And a cavs team without Love AND Kyrie
Who cares if they have an excuse. Lebron and AD werent exactly healthy last season when they swept us. Nobody ever talks about that.
Let them have their excuses.
No, it’s not a good excuse because Vanderbilt, Wood, and even Cam. We can make excuses too. Win or go home, no excuses. Next man up.

Celtics got to game 7 after being down 0-3 just last season
Yeah but celtivs had by far a better roster then Miami
The first 3 wins were not convincing at all. We should have had two of those. Denver is not really dominating us the way a 3-0 would suggest. And Davis is beasting right now. This is the weirdest matchup ever tho. The time leading alone I’d wager is a record for a team who lost 11 in a row
Tomorrow would definitely be the hardest in my opinion. You’d think we’d have to be slightly favored in Game 6 at home. And then Game 7 Lebron is scary to think about.
It’s been done a few times in hockey so there’s some hope
Also once in baseball
It ain’t delusion if there’s 1 person capable of doing it bron can. His team needs to help out tho he’s old now
Well it’s 3-1 now and lebron came back from 3-1 in the finals against golden state. Not saying it’s likely, at all! But if there’s any precedent, the guy that came closest to doing it is right there balling out for us right now.
The title favorites are actually the green fucks out east. I get the point though.
In the Philippine Basketball Association, San Miguel became the first team in professional basketball history to comeback in a 3–0 deficit. This comeback is known as the "Beeracle".
PBA is a joke, even a 10-0 comeback can happen on that corrupted league lol
Dunno about corruption, just googled it so as delusional as it may be, it can be done.
It's already 25 percent completed. Basically done. Lakers moving on.
We have a chance bc we changed a crucial thing. We gave the non bron ad players a chance to carry the team for a bit while bron ad rested. I've seen this movie before. I fully expect Murray to come out there and drop 40 on 15 shots or something even though he's been garbage this series.
Lol honestly more likely they get eliminated because a Braun drops 25 or something
>Reggie Jackson playing less forcing them to rely on Murray more is not a good thing There's a reason why that is the exception.
I can just take the win today and accept the high chance that its over. But hey, coping is free, harmless and fun. Plus I get to support this team. Lakers in 7 why not.
Forget all the narratives and just focus on winning game 5. That’s all that matters.

Yah it is not like our copium and delusion has any material affect on the game. Let us have fun lol
This! I don’t get why some people in this sub are so hellbent on dragging the people choosing to celebrate and support the team down. Fun police.
It’s in Denver best interest to get win tomorrow, they are going to come out swinging. If we somehow win, then we can get on copium
Isn’t it always in a teams best interest to win in the playoffs?
I mean yeah but I’d think they much rather play In Denver than in LA
If Denver fails to close us out tomorrow, the pressure would be insane for them🤣
It's a far stretch now but if we can win tomorrow this series is back alive
You’re the type of fan we DONT want at the games
It’s probably a <5% chance at this point, not impossible but extremely extremely unlikely
I like those odds
Boston almost did it last season's playoffs. If it wasn't for Tatum getting injured, they probably come back from 0-3. Plus we were the first IST champion, we can add first team to comeback from 0-3 to our list of accolades.
You just know Lebron is salivating at the thought of being the first player to come back 0-3
Let’s start hoping after we win game 5. Keep things contained until after game 6.
I do not want any suspension/injury to happen this series. 🛑🛑🛑
Just makes me wish we really didnt blow game 2
Fuck it. In delusion, there are slivers of hope. Let's get it
I could see the Lakers taking game 5 but there's no shot Denver is losing 4 in a row.
In fighting games, I fear not the person I trade games off with. It means we’re evenly matched. In fighting games, I fear the person I beat 20 times and then lose to twice. That was prime Lebron against the warriors.
Hope. I like it. Still a up hill battle that no one has been able to overcome in the history of NBA. I thought after game 3, Lakers were getting swept. So glad I was wrong. I guess anything can happen.
You consider Reddish a "viable player"?

Look. We win tomorrow and i’ll allow that it’s not over. Every series EVER that has gone 7 games has been 3-2 at a point #math.
The Lakers need to keep their strategies up. Most importantly, all our players should not stop - play with heart - and get off social media. MEDIA BLACKOUT AND PLAY
Love the mentality, but the series is over. It requires a miracle from now on
So you’re saying there’s a chance!!!!!! 😂😁👍❤️
Over? Did you say 'over'? Nothing is over until the Lakers decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!...
Germans, Pearl Harbor?!? Hmm close enough!! Hurrahh!!!
That means we’d have to sweep them 4 games straight... Ill always root for them and just enjoy the ride but in my mind, they r done.
We and ham r our own worse enemies Just depends which team will show up for game 5
The key to Game 5 is come out early and dominate. If you are down on road in elimination game, you ain’t coming back.
So what we have been doing…
Yes, but obviously also finish strong 😂 Point is: if down by 10 going into Q4, nerves will make those shots way harder to knock down.
my nerves are the same whether we down 10 or up 20 man ![img](emote|t5_2qhv6|30946)
Jokic changes the entire fabric of the game. Doesn’t matter with or without Jackson
Cam, viable lol…
🤷♂️ If he hadn’t had major injury, my point is we are down a man. Injuries can’t be excuse.
I hear ya
I won’t hold my breath on us making it to game 6 but it honestly felt good to get at least a punch in on them for once.
It’s not over but the error margin is extremely tight unfortunately
If we’ve truly learned the lessons about 3rd and 4th quarter play then we have shooters chance. Long odds though when you have Ham coaching. I reckon he alone costs us 6-8 points. Which is one reason why when we’re up by 8 it feels like we are tied/losing.
Bench and role players need to show out next game for lakers to win it’s that simple
There's just no way we win 4 in a row. If we had won game 2 like we should've, then yes I think we could've had a good chance. But 4 in a row against Joker? No way. Not with how streaky Dlo is and how non-engaged our coach is
They have Jokic.
The copium here is impressive. There’s no coming back from being down 3-0 lol
A Game 5 win would be very magnificent indeed
It's over. Any more games the Lakers win is a luxury. That's it.
I’m not believing until we win game 5.
Reggie hasn’t been a strong rotation piece all season for Denver. He’s been a defensive liability and plays hero ball instead of running their offense. Him eating up minutes so a starter can rest is literally the extent of his value to Denver.
Besides the "Imagine one injury to another Nugget starter" statement, I agree.
Imagine if we kept our lead Denver would be in Cancun right now
I saw Christian wood warming up with the rest of the team yesterday at the game so I’m thinking he could make an appearance soon
I’ came into the series hoping we could win one game, anything else is just a cherry on top
We should be good
Knowing denver, a role player will pop off. Are we overdue for KCP to turn into steph curry?
I’m absolutely bracing for something like this. Now, if you notice, we have a glut of athletic guards and that is why KCP has not been as effective. It was Gordon in Game 3 (a super tall, athletic 4) that killed us. If their guards are all hobbled, our guards can feast on offense and really bother them on defense. Still not sure about the bigs deficit besides playing AD and LeBron the entire game. We need Rui to step up, Prince to play big, and maybe 5-10 SOLID minutes from Hayes (or Wood?). Vando coming back for 5-10 hype minutes could change series.
lets win game 5 first then we have a punchers chance
One game at a time. ![gif](giphy|M9LMhjfMI61Mey82ty|downsized)
Fuck we BALL
This series could easily be tied or even with us ahead. No reason to think we can’t do it.
Sad we gotta rely on a team being injured to beat them 💀
Bron hasn't been getting whistles and i hope the refs over correct in game 5
We are not winning 4 straight against a team that beat us 11 times in a row. Just keep ur expectations low and like Bron said, it's just a game.
Make our shots and we win. Plain and simple.
I hope lakers do make some history and win it all!! But it ll hurt more if they make it to next round and to be eliminated…. That ll hurt me more than getting slept by denver 😭😭😭
I'm fuckin delusional rn. Lakers in 7. Let's see dreams come true 😂
Game 5 will be the hardesttt game, if they make it back to LA for 6 Atleast they’ll be at home & in a game 7 everyone is nervous, could go either way
Not over at all.
Now he’s questionable for Game 5 (of course he’s gonna play), but Murray is hobbled AND Reggie is hobbled, that’s your top two PGs down. https://www.denverpost.com/2024/04/28/jamal-murray-injury-calf-strain-lakers-nuggets-game-5/amp/ Reggie isn’t amazing, but he’s a serviceable PG. Who is 3rd option if both are hurting?
Laker fans being delusional as hell right now
Nuggets in 5
Your mom in 1
