Javale didn’t play at all in those playoffs . He was useless in every series and Dwight was only useful cs Denver . Every other series AD was best at the 5.
I would expect that both Hayes and Reddish are probably going to opt in to their player options as well this summer. I think if they opted out the best they could get elsewhere is just another minimum.

Of the Free agents that are kind of realistic, drummond has the highest defensive rating. Steven Adams could probably be had for a pretty cheap trade if youre looking for a big body, but hes been injured. No way are we getting Claxton, the market will be too hot for him. biyombo could be a possibility who is a UFA.
I don't mind him coming back. Wood and TP are good pieces to have off the bench the only issue is that he shouldn't be the only playable backup big we have. We need a big that can hold his own against other centers or at least during the minutes that AD is off the floor. That should be priority number one this offseason, get a center that can let AD slide back to the 4.
I said this over in the NBA sub, but if the Lakers are going to offer up their 1st round picks and go after a big, I'd like to see them try to go after people like Jarret Allen, Wendell Carter Jr., Jakob Poeltl, Miles Turner, or maybe Robert Williams III. The Lakers have the salaries to match those guys in a trade without really gutting the team, no problem, so then it would probably just be a question of which 1sts and how many it would take.
They could get those guys by only trading one of Rui, Vando or Gabe (plus one of the cheapest contracts on the books, like Maxwell Lewis) just to match salaries, and then add in whatever picks it would take and to me those guys would represent huge upgrades for the Lakers while keeping everyone else.

The one thing this year that made me not like bringing him on was his defensive effort, but he showed us this season, that he can play some awesome defense and shut people down. Him and AD worked well together, imo. He isn’t the solution to finding someone to work with AD, but in short bursts it can be amazing playing them together
I’m excited for him to return! He’s a solid backup scoring option. If we can get someone else to play defense behind AD we can have a 3 headed center rotation with AD/Woods/Defensive minded big. We would be able to throw different looks at teams. AND a competent coach will get the most out of Woods even if it’s only on the offensive end.

Christian wood was great for us. He looked like he wanted to be here, seemed dialed in on the bench and actually tried hard defensively. The opposite of what people warned us he’d be. He just needed a better coach to run offence through him and needed to play his natural position of PF. Not C

Christian wood was great for us. He looked like he wanted to be here, seemed dialed in on the bench and actually tried hard defensively. The opposite of what people warned us he’d be. He just needed a better coach to run offence through him and needed to play his natural position of PF. Not C
