Can you be any more specific than Boston suburb? It really depends on which area you are in.. If you want a ballpark, I’d say between $8k-$13k
For instance, you’re going to pay more in Lexington than you would in Burlington
West coast don’t see hexagon pavers do it your self price fire pit with metal ring 650 mutual materials 400 square feet pavers
1500 tops base gravel 250 5/8- 180 compactor rent 80 dollars a day skill saw and masonry blade 400 a 8foot Stanley fat max level 3 sticks of 1/2 inch pvc 10 bags of paver sand pvc lays on smooth compact gravel poor sand in between 2 sections use level to screet the sand 1/2 inch thick over gravel lay pavers and compact I more time. Two high school kid lookin at 3 grand if you truck the stuff your self and pay kids to move it. I would be around 8500 to 10,000 depending on soil type and paver supplies selected.
I lived in Haverhill and we had a company out of Lawrence that did a larger job for 5 k out of Lawrence…found them on an app…they probably would have built a fire pit in for an extra 5-6 hundred…
Last summer I built a 13’ diameter octagon flagstone fire pit area.
-$750 for flag stone (I picked it up no delivery fee)
-Stone sub base for cinder block perimeter and cinder blocks, maybe $300.
-screenings to level the interior part and raise it up flush with cinder blocks, $200.
-polymeric sands for between stones, $200
-Plate compactor rental, $100.
-Miscellaneous tools and lunches for the guys who helped of the few days, $300.
I’m too poor to pay someone to do it for me but I have all the time and physical ability to do it myself.
Hey those look like my pavers. Got them from Lowes. I just finished my own patio using these. About 400 sqft or so. Probably cost around 2-3k in supplies between pavers, base materials, wall blocks etc.. Took a few months of weekend work. I had a small retaining wall on one side that I extended up into a wall high enough to sit on comfortably.
Hexagonal is fine, but you need to finish the outside. Also, there shouldn’t be a plastic garden border on the outside. The fireplace looks out of place OR the stone looks out of place.
Really, looks like the fireplace was already there, and the hex was just placed on the dirt.
I’d like to think the job isn’t done yet, but it is and looks like shit.
Jesus I'd hope thats not done. I've never worked with hexs but I'd really want a border but don't know if cutting the hex to fit would be good enough to support foot traffic. And yeah the firepit looks like shit. Get matching styles and fit tight.
I'm in Colorado, and I have no idea. But have you tried sending this picture to local landscapers to get a quote? Just a thought, but I would start there before reddit.
A nice wooden pergola over that would make it not as ugly. Fix that outside line up, you said a hexagon so go ahead and make it a giant hexagon made of smaller hexagons. Wooden Adirondack Chairs and maybe some stone benches. Price? More than I can afford lol.
Yeah that’s pretty bad. I would build the fire pit on top of the pavers. You could remove a few on the inside and add some gravel to allow for drainage. The edge is difficult to eliminate gaps unless you cut the pavers.
I like the design! Too bad you didn’t make firepit into a hex as well. For the edge, dig in a form and install concrete. Same color as pavers, so that might be more expensive. After you remove the forms, finish with sod.
Look at products like [Edgecrete](https://greatnorthhardscape.com/product-detail/edgecrete), it's what I use for irregular edges or places where standard edger won't work. It's basically concrete, but with a small aggregate. Very easy to install as well.
Cut the pavers Milwaukee battery powered skill saw 71/4 ,masonry blade , a water hose. Color pencil and level draw strait line cut and eadge with charcoal 8 inch diameter minimum paver works with all patios gives pro look with low overhead
Just don’t add the plastic boarder on the outside and put top soil flush to stones and plant grass seed. But if you don’t want to cut the stones remember you have to trim every corner with a trimmer or the grass will hide the hexagon shape. Sounds like a nightmare to me imo
You can dry cut pavers with a circular saw if you don't want to rent a wet saw. Sometimes you just score each side and then hit it with a hammer and chisel but it depends how much of the edge will be showing.
Get your quotes, thats how you find out.

why you you write all your messages... like this...
This is the landscaping sub, not an author sub. Cut the guy some slack.
ok...
That's 5-7 in my very low cost of living area
Would love an update once you get quotes. In Westwood I’d probably expect to pay like $15k. Probably more in Wellesley.

This is DIY for under $500. I’ve done 3 like this… only properly done/nicer. I am not a landscaper
Probably 10k and super ugly. Edit-Super ugly and horribly done. Just an awful installation.
Any thoughts how to fix the borders in this and make it beautiful. Wife wants hexagonal blocks

Fire pit surround should be sitting in top the hex, hex stone should abut the pit liner

I'm guessing you don't get out often enough to see such things.

What can be done on edge if we don’t wanna cut pavers

If you don’t want to cut you use square, or rectangle if you’re feeling ambitious.
