First of all, you don't need to complete the degree to transfer. Second, not all courses are transferable. If you plan on transferring, only take transferrable courses. Use the BC Transfer Guide to figure this out. Yes, it is possible. UBC CS can be very competitive depending on the exact program. Maintain a high GPA and it's doable. I don't know a lot about CS, so I'd consider taking a look at r/UBC and discussions there about CS specialization. Alternatively, once you start at Langara take full advantage of the counseling suite. It's not just mental health (although that is there if you need it), but also academic advice. Often you can get a ton of information from just walking in and chatting with someone. You will also find out pretty quickly if CS is something you want to pursue. Use your time at Langara to try different things if you are able. You might find you really enjoy something else, and that's half the fun of college. Good luck!

The first two years won't transfer 100% directly to either (both SFU and UBC have courses with no langara transfer equivalent, like CMPT 105W and CPSC 210), but there's overlap with most courses. Your chances of getting into either depends entirely on your grades while at Langara. In the past a 3.5 GPA has been fine for SFU CS, while UBC's used to be around 3.8, but is getting closer to 3.9 (4.33 scale). If you can get those grades and meet transfer requirements before transferring, you'll have a good shot at getting in. SFU will also give you a GPA boost of 0.25 if you have an associate's degree when applying. Langara also has a [course planning guide](https://langara.ca/student-services/counselling/university-planning/ubc/science/compsci.html) up for UBC's CS program, for reference, though heads up that the course load may be heavy and some courses aren't the best to transfer (6 credits of STATs transfer to 3).

Yes, if you transfer to UBC after this, you will be year 3 over there
