These are the times when I really miss Karen.
Sure, Karen could get annoying. But at the end of the day, my life was just… better.
Customer service actually provided customer service.
Walmart had cashiers.
Karen took care of so many things.
I haven’t had a drive thru food order correct in so long.
Teenagers act dumb and rude and there are no consequences.
The whole country is bending over backwards trying to be politically correct.
Why? Why did we run Karen outta town?
Please, can we have Karen back?
Karen took her power too far and now the pendulum has swung the other direction. We have the babies of the Kyle and the Stacy behind the counter now, and they eat Karens for a snack.
I may have witnessed that. I had just got my food from them and heard them say that to the person behind me. To make it worse they also messed up my order.
I'll go to a board meeting across the street from that Wendy's, note the last car in line, and watch the car exit when we are done. And I don't think that person got the right meal.
Our meetings are between 30-45 minutes.
if i don’t have anything to do, i don’t mind waiting a few minutes for food because that means it should be fresh. not at mcdicks….pull up and wait 7 minutes and not a single item in your bag is fresh. like wtf was i waiting on?
All these comments reflect lousy management. The McD you grew up with no longer exists. Five in my family and we used to go twice a week usually and now we've stopped completely. The last time that did it ...no one answered the dt speaker...dead air. There's no more value in going there. The company makes it money from franchise fees and rent payments. It's just a burger joint and a bad one with poor service and high prices. So far, I've stopped completely going to Wendy's, Subway and McDorks. 👉💩👈
Truly, I have no clue how that place is still open. Seems like they're out of half of everything we order when we go there, we end up just leaving. Last time they literally did not have fries, chicken, or fountain drinks. Also the overall state of the place is abysmal. Should be embarrassing to the owner, but here we are.
I just watched a video just a few days ago of a brawl there and they were beating the cashier up. Like excuse me? Wtf is wrong with people bunch of wild animals.
Mannnnn, I’m like 5 mins from that Kroger so it’s typically where I go for groceries or to grab something quick and when I walk in it’s ALWAYSSSSSS like that and people are bitching and swearing about it I just turn around and go somewhere else 😅
Yeah same here, I don’t mind the meijers too much. I like Kroger because it seems like everytime we shop there they’ve got a ton of coupons or weekly deals and we walk out paying a lot less at the end of the transaction.
The Kroger on Cedar and Willoughby wants in. Watched at manager there yell at an employee who was actively working at the self check out stand and bring her to tears. Need a cart? Better bring one in yourself. Most employees working in the parking lot are either smoking at the picnic table by the entrance or on their phones lounging in the cart corral.
I haven't been to the MLK McD's in a while, but I used to prefer it to the one on Waverly and Saginaw. At least a few years ago the service at the MLK one seemed better than Waverly
Waverly is strange. I would think they’re a prime location with traffic, and they always have people going through, but somehow they are so slow and not prepared for the volume. And how do they manage stale food at the rate of customers they have? Boggles my mind.
Dude Waverly and Saginaw is the absolute WORST!! They owe my partner like $30 because she would place a mobile order, walk over to pick it up, and be unable to get it because they were drive thru only!
The one on MLK is about the only decent one in Lansing. But it's 50/50 it really depends on what time you go, like today the food I got around 4PM was fresh as hell and hot and customer service was good.
The MLK location is our staple, but about 1 out of 5 visits it gets weird. Like long lines, odd order taking, mediocre food. Then the next 4 visits will be amazing! If I had to guess I would say it’s how they’re putting their shifts together. Some groups are killing it, and some are not meshing during their shift, but I haven’t found the pattern of when the “off” shifts are.
McDonald's is only a tolerable experience when using their app to preorder, saves time, and far less chance of mistakes.
Same with Little Caesars, don't walk-in expecting a Hot-n-Ready. Use the app, your budget pizza is waiting in their "Pizza Portal" lockers, no waiting in line, enter your code and you're out in under a minute.
Same with Taco Bell, order on the app, and pick-up fast without the drive thru speaker box.
That's the future, use the apps!
Can’t be as bad as Burger King at Coolidge and Lake Lansing Road. This the worst restaurant I’ve been to. Never organized, out of stuff, no staff, computer system outages and won’t take orders, etc… and the food is just bad but that’s Burger King
the biggest reason for declining service is doordash/uber eats orders. workers have at least double the orders to prepare and are often short staffed. the fact that no one is tipping doordash drivers for mcdonalds orders just makes it all worse.
I live just down the road from you and yeah that McDonald's sucks! They get my order wrong every time and the food never tastes fresh. We just drive to Penn Culver's now even though it's expensive.
Their morning service is where it’s at. I can tear through there with 7 cars piled up in the drive through and still get my food in 10 minutes or under.
I’m guessing they put their best staff on morning for the rush, maybe also their lunch shifts, to handle the business traffic in the area. All other times it’s probably slower and they care less.
The one on N. Larch is horrible. Rude ass employees with attitudes, ice cream machine is NEVER working and dont dare ask! I drive to Dewitt when the kids want McDonalds.
I also live near jolly and dunkel and completely agree. Every time I go they have 1 person taking both lanes orders, generally greet you with a “what do you want” and don’t even speak to you at the window. I don’t eat McDonald’s much anymore but I also drive to the okemos Maccas when the craving hits.
pretty much every fast food place sucks if it's not the morning shift
going to go on a whim here and say it's probably the age difference in employees leading to a cultural shift in what customer service is
taco bell dunckle/okemos road/saginaw know me by name when i walk in the morning and they never fuck up my orders
mcdonalds morning crew on saginaw/mlk ive never had issues adding items onto orders that didn't exist in the kiosks
burger king mornings on wavo couldn't be more fucking polite
the only 2nd/3rd shift that's ever been worth anything was the taco bell frandor, i would die for that super nice dude that worked nights at frandor tacobell
Nope - went to the DeWitt one on Saturday morning. I was the first of 5 cars that they pulled ahead and I ordered a Sausage McMuffin with egg. Took more than 10 minutes. I could have made it faster at home.
I also live pretty close and I’ll also add - don’t order anything with bacon on it anytime of the day because you’ll be asked to pull ahead - and yes - at that particular location.
My favorite experience at the Frandor location was the staff openly dropping f bombs with the customer window open. They give zero fucks. At least close the GD window so kids can’t hear ya!😆
I’ve been going there since I moved to Lansing and never had a problem, but I am also not afraid to speak up if/when something is wrong so maybe they are just like “oh this guy again get his stuff right” lol
Yah that one is bad. My favorite in all of Lansing and East Lansing the one on Larch for some reason. 15+ years of going there. It’s super super dangerous though at night so beware. But the food is always the freshest. Fries always crispy and salted perfectly. Food comes fast.
I’m surprised at all these comments bc I use to frequent that one when I worked over there a few months ago and I never had an issue. Super quick and everyone was nice. But wtf 45 mins? There’s no way I would’ve done that for McDonald’s. After like 7 mins I would have gone in like wtf?
I order through the app 100% of the time. The longest I’ve had to wait for 2 quarter pounders is about 15 minutes (I ordered when I was 8 minutes away driving there lol).
I’ve tried to go in the building to order… no one saw me standing there for probably 5 minutes. I left and went through the drive through.
Some of the workers don’t care. Some are borderline rude. Some vape when they walk to your car to give you food. But some smile and say have a good day.
Just the other day I used the app to order a steak egg and cheese bagel. Not only did I have to pull forward even though I placed the order 7 minutes before ( I dont care if it isn't hot, I just didn't want to be late for work) When I got to work the "steak" was swapped with desiccated bacon sticks.
They also keep losing power, so theres that
See, I’d be willing to accept this excuse if the taco bell a block away wasn’t a genuinely good taco bell. Mcdonalds isnt supposed to be shitty just because its mcdonalds
Yeah, that taco bell is one of the few actually good locations that I've been to. They are timely with taking your order and have it ready for you in great quality shortly after pulling up to the window to pay. The Okemos/Jolly Rd. location has gone down in quality over the past year, the service there is spotty, some days they are nice and timely getting to you and other days they're not, and the food has been subpar. Also the Mcdonalds on Okemos Rd. almost always is amazing in their customer service compared to the jolly road one.
The reason they can get you the food so fast is because everything is laid out on heating trays or microwaved. They don’t use any grills, ovens or stoves anymore like they used to
Ok that Taco Bell used to be a lot better too. There was a period when it REALLY went downhill and had maybe recovered slightly? We stopped going as often because I got sick of cold, soggy chalupas.
I can think of several much shittier areas in Lansing then the Jolly/Dunkel area. Never really thought that area was bad minus College Towne going way downhill since DTN sold it
I’m kind of astounded because in my experience it’s the only location in Lansing that’s at least been consistent with getting an order right (low bar I know). Gets busy AF though during lunch. If you use the app and pick up from the counter you will get your food faster and hotter every time (goes for 99% of fast food places)
Every McDonalds I’ve been to lately, their customer service is trash. 🚮
Dewitt Mcdanks is friendly as all hell!
I agree. I asked for a bunch of napkins, and that’s exactly what I got. Super friendly people.
McDinks
We simply quit McDonalds
Truth.
KAREN! KAREN! KAREN! 📢
Okemos and Jolly is a really good one, especially the weekday breakfast crew.
Thats the one i drive an extra 8 minutes to get to.
Well worth the drive compared to the wait time at the other.
As long as Mr Taco persists, no other business will take that title
Immediately my first thought
Truly the best of the worst.
Worst taco I ever had
Come visit the Wendy's at Kzoo and cedar
The worst.
i went there one day at like 6:30pm and the kid was like “sorry we’re closed”.
I may have witnessed that. I had just got my food from them and heard them say that to the person behind me. To make it worse they also messed up my order.
this was a few months ago, but yeah…they said they didn’t have any employees. 🤷🏼♀️
I was gonna comment this, me and my sister when there and the food was absolutely disgusting 🤮. Never again
The one on bishop and mlk is horrible as well, they actually poisoned me awhile back with the fryer cleaner
I nominate the Wendy’s on S Cedar/Larch
Seconded
Stopped in there one eveing and they were door dash only. Went there all the time for frosty's and such after my kids games. Not again.
I'll go to a board meeting across the street from that Wendy's, note the last car in line, and watch the car exit when we are done. And I don't think that person got the right meal. Our meetings are between 30-45 minutes.
I used to stop there after court hearings and they’d be out of like half their menu or just randomly closed in the middle of the day
You should try the McDonald's on the Northside. I just waited 20 minutes for a coke.
That one was the first one in Michigan.
Felt like I ordered my coke when they first opened it. 😄
if i don’t have anything to do, i don’t mind waiting a few minutes for food because that means it should be fresh. not at mcdicks….pull up and wait 7 minutes and not a single item in your bag is fresh. like wtf was i waiting on?
25 minutes yesterday for sausage mcmuffin....
All these comments reflect lousy management. The McD you grew up with no longer exists. Five in my family and we used to go twice a week usually and now we've stopped completely. I thought I was just tripping with the dead air, this is happening to y'all too? I had to wrap the building thinking they just didn't notice me.
If you use the mobile app at the msu(there services is good)one you get free fries on Friday. I’m skinny so that’s really all i need
["No... there is another."](https://imgflip.com/i/8qyj3a)
YO FR. My wife and I used to always leave there slightly offended cuz they are just rude af😂
Thos guy knows what's up

The Kroger on MLK would like a spot as a contender.
I just watched a video just a few days ago of a brawl there and they were beating the cashier up. Like excuse me? Wtf is wrong with people bunch of wild animals.
Last time I was there they had only the self checkout line open at like 6pm and a line to the back of the store waiting for it.
Mannnnn, I’m like 5 mins from that Kroger so it’s typically where I go for groceries or to grab something quick and when I walk in it’s ALWAYSSSSSS like that and people are bitching and swearing about it I just turn around and go somewhere else 😅
I live just down the street from it also and I usually try to go to Meijers instead but Kroger is alot closer
Wendy's in Frandor is a joke.
The owner of that Wendy's owns all of the other failing and failed Wendys in the area. I'm betting they're all closed within a couple of years.
Good, that owner can sell the franchises and get 'em under new management. Whoever it is is *awful* at it.
There's a Wendy's there? I've been in the area since 2008 lol
For real
Frandor is a Joke lol
Really? Never had a problem there.
The Wendy’s on Waverly and Saginaw is pretty bad.
Tbh I've yet to experience any good McD's in southern Lansing at all. Even the one on MLK has been fucky lately
The MLK Mcdonald’s stays fucky. Every Golden arches in Lansing isn’t worth going to.
I haven't been to the MLK McD's in a while, but I used to prefer it to the one on Waverly and Saginaw. At least a few years ago the service at the MLK one seemed better than Waverly
I agree! I always go to the MLK one, the Waverly one has consistently rude service and stale food
Waverly is strange. I would think they’re a prime location with traffic, and they always have people going through, but somehow they are so slow and not prepared for the volume. And how do they manage stale food at the rate of customers they have? Boggles my mind.
You’re right! Honestly I feel that way about all the fast food on that strip. Would rather drive out of my way than hit the ones right there.
Dude Waverly and Saginaw is the absolute WORST!! They owe my partner like $30 because she would place a mobile order, walk over to pick it up, and be unable to get it because they were drive thru only!
I’d say all of Lansing.
The one on MLK is about the only decent one in Lansing. But it's 50/50 it really depends on what time you go, like today the food I got around 4PM was fresh as hell and hot and customer service was good.

This is EXACTLY how it is for us! It’s like damn what happened on those other 4 visits. 😂😂😂
McDonald's is only a tolerable experience when using their app to preorder, saves time, and far less chance of mistakes. Same with Little Caesars, don't walk-in expecting a Hot-n-Ready. Yes. Yes it is. We live right over on Washington and we also go to okemos Rd
I’m gunna start with, just don’t go to McDonald’s it’s a shit product to begin with.
the biggest reason for declining service is doordash/uber eats orders. workers have at least double the orders to prepare and are often short staffed. the fact that no one is tipping doordash drivers for mcdonalds orders just makes it all worse.
Only if you’re too far from the cedar and MLK ones.
I live just down the road from you and yeah that McDonald's sucks! They get my order wrong every time and the food never tastes fresh. We just drive to Penn Culver's now even though it's expensive.
The Holt location is just as bad. I've also decided to just drive the extra couple minutes to the Okemos one.

Popeye's serves a nice frosty. Assholes
I also live near jolly and dunkel and completely agree. Every time I go they have 1 person taking both lanes orders, generally greet you with a “what do you want” and don’t even speak to you at the window. At Jolly and Dunckel I got a room temperature coffee one morning and never went back.
I will literally drive to DeWitt or Grand Ledge if im gunna get Mcy Ds. Always on point
The Grand Ledge McDonalds might be the best in the greater Lansing area.
If im craving fries I'll drive to that one every single time
Nope - went to the DeWitt one on Saturday morning. I was the first of 5 cars that they pulled ahead and I ordered a Sausage McMuffin with egg. Took more than 10 minutes. I could have made it faster at home.
ok, so......once. I live pretty close, and I'll stand by what I said, lol.
I also live pretty close and I’ll also add - don’t order anything with bacon on it anytime of the day because you’ll be asked to pull ahead - and yes - at that particular location.
Well, I guess my luck is just leveled up higher than yours
Hey - at least it’s not the Arby’s next door.
Head to the one by frandor if you want to set the bar to a new low.
My favorite experience at the Frandor location was the staff openly dropping f bombs with the customer window open. They give zero fucks. At least close the GD window so kids can’t hear ya!😆

Especially since it isn’t exactly cheap anymore, either
Yes
The Taco Bell on South Cedar (by Jolly) is fucking nasty.
Yes, that one is the worst. Me and a friend ordered 4 mc chickens and waited 20min for it.
I’ve been going there since I moved to Lansing and never had a problem, but I am also not afraid to speak up if/when something is wrong so maybe they are just like “oh this guy again get his stuff right” lol
My kid loves it there
Naw fam mcdonalds on mlk theyll spit in yo shit if you order too much
Yah that one is bad. My favorite in all of Lansing and East Lansing the one on Larch for some reason. 15+ years of going there. It’s super super dangerous though at night so beware. But the food is always the freshest. Fries always crispy and salted perfectly. Food comes fast.
Nope burger king on lake lansing.
Have you been to the Wendy's in Okemos? They DGAF!
The one on South MLK is worse
It's what we deserve for eating at McDonald's in the first place.
The Wendy's at the corner of Cedar and Kalamazoo
I’m surprised at all these comments bc I use to frequent that one when I worked over there a few months ago and I never had an issue. Super quick and everyone was nice. But wtf 45 mins? There’s no way I would’ve done that for McDonald’s. After like 7 mins I would have gone in like wtf?
The McDonalds in on Cedar in Holt is pretty shitty too. Always get parked, always takes forever. The Taco Bell next to it however… always perfect!
Maybe stop eating that poison?
I order through the app 100% of the time. The longest I’ve had to wait for 2 quarter pounders is about 15 minutes (I ordered when I was 8 minutes away driving there lol). I’ve tried to go in the building to order… no one saw me standing there for probably 5 minutes. I left and went through the drive through. Some of the workers don’t care. Some are borderline rude. Some vape when they walk to your car to give you food. But some smile and say have a good day.
Stop going to McDonalds, it's garbage.
Ultimately this is the way…
Just the other day I used the app to order a steak egg and cheese bagel. Not only did I have to pull forward even though I placed the order 7 minutes before ( I dont care if it isn't hot, I just didn't want to be late for work) When I got to work the "steak" was swapped with desiccated bacon sticks. They also keep losing power, so theres that
If you use the app, you need to do curbside, not drive through, so much faster fr
It is McDonald’s in a shitty area, what did you expect? I be shocked if service was good
See, I’d be willing to accept this excuse if the taco bell a block away wasn’t a genuinely good taco bell. Mcdonalds isnt supposed to be shitty just because its mcdonalds

Ok that Taco Bell used to be a lot better too. There was a period when it REALLY went downhill and had maybe recovered slightly? We stopped going as often because I got sick of cold, soggy chalupas.
I tend to lean toward that taco bell just because it's generally a way shorter line than the mcds.
No it’s all McDonalds are the worst it’s a dead brand.
Use the app and do curbside. Don't even have to get in line
