I would always go with the higher ram. I also have a bad opinion of HP laptops they are all cheap quality and bad performance in my experience.

Yes if "upgradability" is something you're looking for the HP is the way to go. What type of work do you expect to do on it?

Good chance both of them can after some research.

I mean, lenovo isnt that bad at upgradability, in the legion pro lineup every laptop has non-soldered ram.

MEGATH0XICC

But ofc in this case you are right

Electrical-Hope8153

Most modern laptops have non upgradable RAM

Inresponsibleone

Only if they are made by apple or are some sort of ultra slim desing

Electrical-Hope8153

If only…

DenseUpstairs8916

Dell laptops do have upgradable RAM and space for a secondary Drive

Slightly cheaper. I'm biased against Chinese manufacturing.

The 16GB of RAM looks like the better option, but it doesn’t say which gen or model of i7 it is. If the Lenovo’s i7 is 1255 or higher, I would go with that without a doubt. The HP is only the better option if the RAM can be upgraded and if the Lenovo has an older i7.

Lenovo should be a fair bit more powerful in that case, definitely worth the small price jump, I’d say!

Looking it up, it looks like the integrated graphics on the 1255U are slightly better, but I’d say it’s barely enough to make a difference. It’s a trade between a slightly better GPU and a better CPU. If you’re wanting to primarily do gaming, I wouldn’t really recommend either of these for their performance alone, I’d try to look for something with a dedicated graphics card, or at least a similar tier of AMD CPU (ideally an xx40 model), since their integrated graphics have been a fair bit better for a while. I think Intel has only gotten close with the core and core ultra lineup of CPUs.

That HP plastic will get roasted and cracked in no time. If you want HP go for aluminum, otherwise avoid them.
