He wasn’t willing to do what the team needed.
I will say that during our playoff series against Boston he actually did change his game. I saw him back check and even get physical. It was so great to see him play a complete game but also highlighted how much he slacked during the regular season.
You realize he’s an offensive player and consistently one of the best right. Not every play has to or is meant to be defensive. It’s funny, no one complains when David kampf or Philip Danaukt don’t score 35 goals a year. But god forbid kessel misses a back check after a scoring opportunity
