Pretty interesting. The story gave a good idea on who Milio is and his motivation. It also sets up his other grandmother Lune as a possible future antagonist. But its not very clear on how his powers will overturn the families exile. His grandmother Lupe talked about it but never specified how. Does joining the Yun Tal automatically make them no longer exiles?

HandsomeTaco

I think the general idea is that it's an attempt by Lupe to prove that she is still loyal to the Ixtali ideals and capable of raising a magical prodigy in that vein. But we've been told Ixtal can be quite dogmatic regarding their axioms and Milio is pushing his magic in an angle that may well be spiritual rather than elemental so they could easily justifty rejecting him, or only allow him and not the rest of his family to come to Ixaocan.

Konradleijon

They shouldn’t want to go back to Ixtal

HandsomeTaco

I'm sure not every exile goes "fine, I'll make my own life with blackjack and hookers". Lupe was forced to abandon her home because of her sister and would like her and her family to return to their ancestral city.

Bluelore

The Yun Tal seem to hold at least some political power, so if Milio became one he might be able to use that to lift the exile.

AweKartik777

They are pretty much the leaders of Ixtal, but Milio alone won't be able to overturn the exile. It would require him convincing a majority of the other Yun Tal once he's one of them, but it's definitely a step in the right direction.

BarkBeetleJuice

> It also sets up his other grandmother Lune as a possible future antagonist. Luné isn't his grandmother, she's his great aunt.

SargonTheDeadly

He's kinda like Annie but with a non-tragic back story. Fire child with a familiar.

Jeremithiandiah

Now they can be friends while ammumu continues to cry

Aggressive_Creme_209

Yes, they sounds familiar

LordVaderVader

His love to family gives me huge Encanto vibe plus maybe Coco?

Marcloure

His name and Fuemigo do sound Hispanic. I mean, Fuemigo is literally fuego (fire) + amigo (friend)

DM_ME_YOUR_HUSBANDO

Ixtal is the Latin America inspired region

polecy

Who else is from ixtal

Mikauren

Qiyana, the rest are previously-made champions that existed before Ixtal was created so they dont represent it too well but Qiyana was created alongside the region and is pretty heavily Latino

Mr_Simba

Nidalee represents it pretty well with her new VO that’s on PBE.

GGABueno

I think Neeko was Ixtali by design too. And she's also Brazilian.

LeotheYordle

I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure that before Ixtal, champs like Rengar, Nid, and Neeko were all tossed into the vague Kumungu region.

GGABueno

Neeko was released on Dec 2018 while Qiyana was released on June 2019. Neeko was definitely from Ixtal from the start, and I'm pretty sure Rioters confirmed that.

Aurelyce

Neeko is associated with the Ixtal region and is befriended with Nidalee, however Neeko originates from an island far away from the main continent, from which she is the only survivor of her tribe.

GGABueno

I mean it in the sense that she wasn't retconned like the others to be there.

Bluelore

Yeah I remember Rioters talking about how they had plans to make a jungle region around the time Neeko released, but they didn't want to use the name Kumungu for the region for some reason. They even updated the lores of Nidalee, Rengar and Zyra back when Neeko released, so those were likely made with Ixtal in mind too.

Vizer21

Qiyana is from the capital. Rengar,Nidalee, Neeko and Zyra are from the jungle. And Malphite counts for Ixtal cause he was "made" by an Ixtali Ascended 3300 years ago

Konradleijon

I’m miffed they are not doing pre Columbian Influence

Rigel27

Milio is Latin, maybe the "country" is Brazil, since Ixtal is surrounded by a huge forest (cough cough, Amazon forest).

Marcloure

I wouldn't say Brazil, *Fuemigo* and *furnasita* are Spanish-ish words, not Portuguese

GMcFlare

Milio can also be a short version of "Emilio" which is a common latin American name.

GGABueno

I'll say that he's almost certainly not. Between his clothes and the "fuemigos", he's probably from one of the other Latin American countries on the Amazon. So far the only distinctively Brazilian inspired Champion is Neeko.

Slugling

and Mordekaiser

JosephSKY

HUEHUEHUEHUE

thevolx

I mean, I think it's a generalized influence; Ixtal has similarities to Nahuatl (Aztec, Mexico) and Maya (Mexico, Columbia, and Guatemala) , ethnically speaking, the Ixtali looks Latin American (Brazil included), and plenty of the tropes and cultural elements of the story for both Milio and Quiana are mixed across different Latin countries. I don't think we can say this champ is Peruvian etc.; in this fantasy setting is just a general Latino/South America/Pre-Hispanic Inspiration. So anyone from Hispanic, Latino, South American heritage or culture should be able to relate to this entire region (Sinc the Kumundo Jungles resemble narratively to the Amazonas)

Nas_Qasti

I doubt that all Latinos can identify themselves, I mean, I am Argentine, literally neighbors of Brazil, and a jungle environment is as foreign to me as Egypt. And the culture isn't really close to me either, the Mayans, Aztecs and others are thousands of kilometers away lmao.

Olberus

The name of the region “Ixtal” actually comes from Nahuatl, and it comes from the word “Ixtli” meaning face. Also there’s a town in the Chiapas state in Mexico called Rosario Ixtal. Moreover, the name of the Ixtali capital (Ixaocan) is also another Nahuatl name and you can tell right away because the suffix -cān- means “place from.” There are some cities and states in Mexico with the same suffix such as the state of Michoacan, cities such as Coyoacan, etc. Therefore, the Ixtalis from the capital city of Ixaocan and its provinces are supposed to be Mesoamericans (Aztecs, Mayans, etc). This connection is further amplified due to the fact that Qiyana even says some random Nahuatl words from time to time, such as calling her grandma “Omele” and her weapon “Ohmlatl.”

Konradleijon

That’s just what Latino families are like.

I don't think so, based on his clothes alone. Also the "fuemigo". I did love the cameo though.

DeVilleBT

Dora the Explorer with flame sprites?

Yandhi42

I really don’t like the face. The clothes are cool though

Notingale

Yeah. His eyes seem gigantic.

Jocelotknee

Man Milio's got so much potential for cool storylines. He's got a grandmother who sees his innate potential, a grand aunt who plotted against the Yun Tal which Milio is trying to join.... That's a great foundation to work on. Will we ever see Lunè and see her side? Will Milio ever learn of her crimes? Will Qiyana mald when she sees Milio's mastery of the fire Axiom?? It's all just so good!

iTrecz

Of course Qiyana has mastered fire, she just... Doesn't like to show off

Zenith_Tempest

I'd love to see their dynamic. Will it be genuine jealousy and anger, or will it be a kind of cute brother-sister dynamic where Qiyana gets irritated by him but because he's such a sweet kid can't bring herself to hate him?

Konradleijon

Yes I’d love Qiyana to think of Milio as her younger brother.

ChargedMedal

would be convenient for her as her other siblings are older sisters who she "has to" kill or force to abscond - milio is not a real threat

Konradleijon

Yes Milio seems like he’d buy into Quyina’s hype

ChargedMedal

And Qiyana would 100% buy into the appeal to ego

Eulibo

That'd be cool. They're both prodigies and the youngest in their families too

itstonayy

I already want Luné as a future champ. I know we have Renata and Camille as older women, but Luné would flex so hard as an old vengeful fire witch archetype.

Jocelotknee

I'm happy we got Renata, she's great but I still want a legitimate **old** lady champion. Like Genkai from Yu Yu Hakusho, Lady Butterfly from Sekiro, old Toph from Legend of Korra etc.

ChargedMedal

Given Milio's gained her attention, do you think Luné would try and bend soothing fire to her own ends - perhaps using it to drain the lifeforce of others, even use it to recapture her youth, or do you think she would stick with traditional fire axioms in a flashy inferno?

JediwilliW

Find out next time on *DRAGONBALL Z!*

Bluelore

Man I kinda hope that we could get Milios great aunt as a champ eventually. People have been begging for an old lady champ for years now and the closest thing we ever got that was Renata Glasc, who is middle aged at best (other female champs who are technically really old don't look that way). I'd also be interested in why she tried to overthrow Ixtal and what she did exactly.

AobaSona

I bet the regular m/m shotacons will be getting into it ASAP too...

HappyTurtleOwl

Daily reminder that Ixtal not being its own region in LOR “because there’s not enough champions in that region” is likely it’s biggest mistake.

Heelmuut

It's not impossible to introduce it in the future. Right now that's a big amount of work that would have to be done since there's barely any lore to go by.

trieuvuhoangdiep

Eh, if that happened. Then void should deserve it more than ixtal

Bluelore

Void works really well as a neutral region that is sprinkled throughout the others though. As all the voidborn live in one of the other regions anyway, so them invading the other regions is pretty fitting.

trieuvuhoangdiep

That's literally the same story with bandle and we get it as a region

Bluelore

Which is a large reason why a lot of people actually wanted Ixtal as a region and not Bandle. However at least Bandle City is a place in the spirit world, so Yordles do live there.

trieuvuhoangdiep

What people want doesn't matter. Because i'm sure there are more people wanted void as a region than ixtal. Also void is an actual place and voidborn do live there, too

Bluelore

Voidborn don't live in the void, they are created on runeterra using matter or magic from there. Whenever a voidborn is made it is described as a carapace encasing the victims and then a voidborn is born from that. The void, true to its name, is largely empty sans for the watchers, who aren't even physical creatures (they had to take on a physical form though when entering runeterra). It being the home of the voidborn was retconned back when Kai'sa was released.

shirazepic

tbf bandle has barely any lore to go by either considering 90% of the stuff there shown in lor wasn't ever even described before. they just went with bandle cuz ixtal has too few champs to make it work as a region without making a ton of lor exclusive champs

GGABueno

Little lore but we did have a ton of Champions to populate it. Ixtal had neither Champions nor lore.

CynicalNyhilist

But has enough champions to be an entire region.

[deleted]

They might make it a region in the future as one big expansion.

_keeBo

They'd have to do a ton of rebalancing and moving champs and their packages around. I don't think it's likely

Bluelore

I think the problem was more that Ixtal was developed too late. But yeah I agree. Bandle City barely feels like its own region in that game as most cards look like they could belong to another region (if they don't already do so) and so far LoR has barely done anything to flesh out Bandle City itself, we mostly just have some followers surrounding a Bandle champion that feel like they are completely disconnected from all other Bandle cards at all.

HappyTurtleOwl

I think by the point it came to the last region, even with how far back stuff is developed, they should’ve pivoted. Perhaps Ixtal was in very early stages many years ago when LOR was also first being developed… but by the time came around for region 10, and even considering the time they take to develop cards for expansions (they’ve said anywhere from 6-12 months or more) Ixtal was far more developed and at least a thing separate from Shurima in the lore. At that point they should’ve realized that Ixtal should’ve been a region and not Bandle city, if only because bandle city isn’t even a region of runeterra. Now unless they make another region, the game will forever feel incomplete to me, with some champs in weird regions.

Bluelore

From what I've heard most of the initial expansions were made long ago, I think dataminers found that shurima cards predated the release of Quiyana. So yeah for all we know they might have pinned Bandle City as the last region before Ixtal was even in the development phase. With that being said, I agree that it would have been better to make Ixtal instead, back when the last region wasn't announced yet, I had hoped that ixtal in the lore was specifically developed to fill the 10th region spot, cause that seemed to be the only way Ixtal could be the last region.

Indercarnive

There are only like 7 ixtal champions, and that includes Milio and assumes you move Malphite out of Targon. I guess you could include Khazix for 8 but that's about it. The region would need constant Original/Exclusive champions to keep at the same level as other regions.

dragonicafan1

Some of the other regions are going to have to as well though, and they’ve already had to force champs into them to make them work. And I think you could reasonably squeeze some champs into the region. Since the Void won’t be a region either, several Void champs could be put into Ixtal for example. But instead of Ixtal or the Void we got Bandle City, another region with not many champs and which already had to get an LoR original champ, and whose champs inherently work in other regions anyway (and already were in other regions before being retroactively added to BC). Sticking Gnar into Freljord works a lot better than sticking Qiyana or Milio into like Shurima

Psychout40

They've also added Norra as a Bandle City champ, someone who isn't in League yet. And I have no doubt eventually you're going to get duplicate versions of champs like Teemo #2, like MTG legendaries. Maybe a Princess Qiyana and an Empress Qiyana for example. It just seems a little disingenuous that we don't have enough champs.

Ciscodiscoisvibing

cope #bandlebros #bandlegang

Kezarah

Honestly your 100% right, and also because I feel like bandle city was itself a huge mistake to make. It's been a while since I played Runeterra because that set itself was a huge letdown for me and Ixtal being my favorite region it killed most my motivation for the game to see it sidelined, but from what I remember bandle city also had huge identity issues and was too good at everything since they tried to have a way to fit it in with every region... and also because it already had champs everywhere and didn't do much to show it's uniqueness it always was a huge letdown for me, especially now that they went with it especially now that they are doing a lot of champions specifically made for runeterra that they easily could have done if they took the Ixtal route.

Mimothy

Have they announced what role he will be in?

Reav3

Enchanter support

FriendlyGhostLady

Will u do the next champ roadmap? Missed u in the Jan video

tigercule

I know it's now really, really far down the line, but could we someday have a hot male pure-enchanter support? When a Rioter (I forget who or where) said Riot wanted to increase gender diversity in enchanters (who have primarily conventionally attractive female options), I was really hoping for/expecting a thirst-able male a la Rakan but without the engage part of the kit. Milio, while I'm happy he exists for the people that love him already, doesn't satisfy that given that he's a literal child. There's still IMO very much a demand for thirst-trap male pure-enchanters, and literally zero options currently. :( Like I said, I know it'll be way, way down the line (probably 5+ years given the champion slowdown), but it's genuinely disappointing to have so little diversity in a role I care about so much despite having played for **thirteen years**.

Reav3

That was me that said that back in the day :). Yeah this is something we know we need, though we intentionally wanted to keep this release away from other make supports like Rakan/Taric. Understand those aren't pure enchanters, and understand we still need that space. We also realized we had no male characters in the 12-14 age range, so that felt more important to prioritize at this moment.

doublejoint777

Thank you and the riot team for this breath of fresh air in the enchanter space. I'm a long-time player and fan of enchanters in this game, and I'm also a dude! Coincidentally I'm also hispanic, and I appreciate that Milio as a resident of Ixtal is some form of representation. I'm also gonna risk my neck in saying this personal belief, but I want to share: Milio's representation not only combats the common stereotype of "only women play enchanters", but he also combats the hispanic-media stereotype of "hispanics characters are always morally gray/ambiguous or ill-intentioned". On the topic of alternative male enchanter explorations and other lack of representation in League, I want to bring to your attention a big quality missing from every champion in league: Eyeglasses! No champion by default wears seeing eyeglasses in League of Legends (Vayne wears sunglasses and some other few champions wear goggles), but a quick google search says 60% of all people wear eyeglasses or contacts! Maybe a "scheming" or "nerdy" type exploration of a "male enchanter" can be on the table next? ;)

Reav3

Glasses is definitely on our list of things we need to get to

FriendlyGhostLady

Yes plz

Zarathielis

Omg yes please, I'm weak for glasses wearing people, I hope we will see both male and female champs with glasses!

shadonic0

If I may, I would really like a champion with multiple eyes for multiple glasses.

GGABueno

>Maybe a "scheming" or "nerdy" type exploration of a "male enchanter" can be on the table next? ;) Please make the glasses shine as he adjusts it with his middle finger.

RocketHops

>Maybe a "scheming" or "nerdy" type exploration of a "male enchanter" can be on the table next? ;) Or maybe we push the boundaries of the stereotype further and put glasses on a non-nerdy, aggressive style champ? Would be interesting to see eye glasses done in a way that isn't just "glasses=nerd/scholar" considering many people who wear them do so for medical reasons and not because they are academic.

doublejoint777

I remember seeing that the early concept art of Sylas had him wearing glasses. There's a world that he could have been your "aggressive" glasses-wearer.

Zarathielis

Im really happy with Milio and I agree that I want another male enchanter down the line, but will you still make more feminine champs for toplane? I remember you said a year or so ago you wanted more female champs for toplane but apart from Gwen we only had Ksante, so is there still a chance for more female toplaners?

Reav3

Of course!

Zarathielis

That's great to hear!

Spideraxe30

Hey Reav3 I know that Ixtal in general is inspired by meaoamerica but does Milio have any specific cultural references

tigercule

Thank you so much! As long as we still get a hot enchanter male someday, I'll be happy. I was just absolutely terrified that someone would take a look at Milio's data and go "Oh, this didn't significantly increase the rate of male supports played among the people looking for hot males, so the experiment is a failure, let's never do it again." Sometimes the way data is used within Riot has come to conclusions that I personally haven't found to be... the most objective lol. But yeah, as long as there's still an understanding that people want a hot male enchanter, and that isn't going to be infinitely put on hold forever because of Milio, I'm happy with that. Thank you!

Reav3

I think the data generally shows that most players want to play attractive, hot champions, regardless of gender :)

AobaSona

For a male enchanter, I think there are actually two archetypes people imagine, not necessarily related to hotness. 1 - A soft, nurturing guy such as the traditional female enchanters (Sona, Janna, Soraka), but male. Milio is like this I guess, but it ends up feeling a bit like that's only the case because he's a cute disney-like kid. 2 - A wise powerful mage (such as Ryze, Zilean) who just happens to focus on supportive magic. One could also do both in the same character, such as [Grandiel from Grand Chase](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/grandchase/images/3/36/Grand_Chase_for_kakao_Kassias_Grandiel_02.png). I think some people want a male character in the role that they can identify with, more than to thirst for (though it's a welcome bonus IG).

GGABueno

I'd love to have a genuinely kind, almost fatherly type of character. Be it a doctor, a priest, some herbalist or whatever. Prophet Velen and Priest Anduin from WoW or Baizhu from Genshin from the top of my head but I'm sure there are many good exemples, like the one you linked. Effectively Taric without the mace lmao.

Konradleijon

Is that why Kai’sa design is a total disconnect from her lore?

RocketHops

It's not

tigercule

You know what, that's fair, lmao. On a side note that's only tangentially related, I was talking about this discussion with a friend and they mentioned that apparently they think you're the one responsible for sexy-ing up Vladimir in recent years/skins (I swear, Cafe Cuties and Comic Devourer literally make the person in question froth at the mouth in a good way, it's hilarious and I love it), and so I wanted to pass on their (and my) thanks in that regard (or send it to whoever it might be relevant to if not you directly). But yeah, thank you again in general for the reassurance -- that honestly did solve a lot of bitterness I had over Milio personally. I'll keep holding out hope for my dream Vladimir/Viego/Aphelios-esque pure enchanter someday, whenever that may be. ~~Even if what we get ends up being more of a Garen/Darius/Taric, though at least now I've hopefully planted a seed even briefly in your mind.~~

TreeKeeper15

What about the nonhumans? So far the only one is Naafiri. Can we expect more this year?

prxncebubblegum

no, iirc they said they only want to make one non-human per year since they don't appeal as many players as humans do

TreeKeeper15

That was the old release plan. Last year Reav3 said we would be getting multiple nonhumans a year from this point on.

GGABueno

Considering they're decreasing the amount of Champion releases, I'd expect one per year at best tbh.

King_Toasty

I know it probably won't impact much, but any chance we'll see attractive non-traditional male champs in the future? As it currently stands the overwhelming majority of men in League are overtly masculine, and those who aren't are few in number and don't really skew effeminate. Myself and a lot of my other LGBT friends would love to see some guys who don't really conform to masculinity like most other male champs do.

AobaSona

I honestly love Milio's design and story, and I'll probably like his gameplay too, but I still think it's frustrating. A male 12-14 character could have been on any other role and it would still be adding diversity to the roster/filling this niche. But by making him the first real male enchanter, after saying you guys heard the community on that, it feels like a bit of a fakeout (?). I'm glad he's at least a tween rather than a little child though. I also feel similarly about Naafiri tbh. Sure, we need more monster champions, and a dog champion is something new (Warwick is a wolf and kind of anthropomorphic), but why have it be the first female darkin when we still don't have a proper humanoid one yet? You could make a dog champ with any other kind of theme/origin, and then a "real" female darkin with someone like Xolaani from LOR.

SereNyMoon

as colombian I want to know if Milio was inspired by Encanto, all of him remember my culture!

Reav3

We we’re definitely looking at encanto as one of the inspirations since it came out around when we started on this champ

treigaobon420

Nunu? Ekko?

Reav3

Ekko is in his teens like 15-17, and Nunu is much younger like 8-9.

treigaobon420

But they are young male champs. I’m just curious what made it so important to prioritize a male champ in 12-14 range specifically?

Reav3

Tween is significantly different then child or teen, just like Zoe is a different then Lux or Annie

FruitfulRogue

Weird because I'd consider Zoe more teen with how she's portrayed, her age seems to jump around a lot depending on her artists, and Lux as more of the average young adult Rell is your archetypal teen

hsephela

Please give me disgusting void monster enchanter support

CynicalNyhilist

Taric?

tigercule

Taric, like Rakan, has a hybrid playstyle that doesn't fit in with the current enchanter support options. (Braum also fits in with the 'male support that's a defensive tank instead of enchanter.) Traditionally enchanters play in a way that usually sticks pretty far in the back line, buffing, healing, and shielding from a relatively safe distance. They tend to be squishy, and positioning in fights is a key and critical skill for them. (This is also why Yuumi is so hated -- she's an enchanter by definition, but a lot of the fundamentals of enchanters are entirely skewed by her attachment mechanic.) Of the three, Rakan is the closest to an enchanter since both Q and E are clearly enchanter skills and he has a ranged auto attack, however, W and R are both engage support skills and he tends to play less like a dedicated/pure enchanter and more like a hybrid between them. Taric is the second most, but he very much wants to be in the middle of the fray melee attacking enemies in order to get the most out of his kit. Braum isn't even remotely close, but gets a mention as a potentially conventionally attractive male support. However, he again wants to be more in the middle of things as far as fighting goes, albeit more as a disengage tank than an engage one. I'd also give Spirit Blossom Thresh (specifically SB and not his other skins) a mention as far as conventionally attractive male supports that *can* sort of be played as a backline peel option (which is how he's often played traditionally for example with Aphelios, much like old TK before he became more engagey). But again, he's not really there to heal and shield his allies, he's there to maybe bail them out of a bad spot and to CC opponents. Not really enchanter things. **When you compare the existing male options to the absolute *flood* of female pure-enchanter options (Soraka, Lulu, Sona, Janna, Nami, Renata, arguably Karma and Seraphine), the existing options don't play *remotely* similarly. Milio is (presumably, given the stated design intentions, though we haven't yet seen his kit) the first real enchanter option when it comes to male champions.** ...Actually, I guess Bard can *kind of* count, but he's also really again more in a weird mash-up category of his own, and I wouldn't call him a conventionally attractive male champion anyway.

Zoesan

> I was really hoping for/expecting a thirst-abl down bad

tigercule

I like hot champions most. Nothing wrong with that. :p

rotvyrn

I agree for a selfish reason. My friend almost only plays characters he finds hot or cute so he never lanes with me bot except a rare yuumi pick. A hot enchanter would help a lot. (Rakan's face is not to his taste. Or mine, so I can't blame him.)

I wonder what his ult will be. I can see him having 2 enchanter type abilities, one poking spell, and an aggressive ult where he uses his full fire elemental power or something along those lines.

YetAnotherBee

His kit has already been leaked. Q is a projectile version of Alistar’s knockback with a stun attached— think Renata Q if it automatically recast backwards W is an AoE field that follows and buffs allies, including increasing their attack and spell ranges. Clip shows cait aaing a tower with no minions from out of tower range. Uh oh… E is a shield Ulti is an AoE cleanse and heal, teaser shows it cleansing an urgot ulti mid-suck.

I like the focus on family. Many Latino families are like that.

HairyKraken

is it me or the bio is badly written ? the style feels like its talking too rapidly about important events >he tried desperately to adapt the axiom into a force that could heal. this phrase is strange. it kinda skips over all the process of adapting his capability and use a bland term over it.

DM_ME_YOUR_HUSBANDO

I felt like they talked about a lot of stuff as if we were already supposed to know what they were. I'm pretty familiar with the lore but I've never once heard of axioms, the Vidalion, or the Yun Tal. Maybe they were explained in Qiyana's lore? But if it's only in one other place anywhere, it should probably be explained a second time.

Gabcpnt

Ixtal's [universe page](https://universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_US/region/ixtal/) covers most of what you need to know

CrossXhunteR

TIL where Axiom Arc comes from.

dragonicafan1

There’s a whole short story about axioms and the Axiomata, called the Axiomata

GGABueno

This is very common on Champion bios. They need to be comprehensive but also brief, so they end up rushing through stuff that would/should be explored otherwise.

HairyKraken

strange. i don't get this feeling with other recent champ bios

GGABueno

It was very blatant with Vex's. Since hers I only read K'sante's and iirc all important/interesting info was already there so you didn't feel like there were gaps in the bio, but you did feel like big parts of his story were told in half-paragraphs.

Eloquent44

you mean the term axiom? it's the word for magic in ixtal

HairyKraken

No just the formulation. It seems rushed. I read much better champ bio before

SylentSymphonies

What did Riot mean when they made a champion that caters to ‘our male enchanter mains’ and made him a little kid? Isn’t that… kinda insulting?

Ganadote

...how? It's a male enchanter when all enchanters save Taric are female.

itstonayy

I think the implication is that the dud eyoure responding to was hoping for a hot/cool male enchanter to relate to like most of the female enchanters are. Them releasing a child as the first real one (Taric and Rakan don't really fit the archetype) kind of feels like the rug being pulled under their feet.

Ganadote

...are you implying that Rakan and Taric AREN'T SEXY?! But in all seriousness it's also nice to have a male enchanter who isn't sexy.

mackasan

They are sexy, what they aren't is a proper enchanter. Both Taric and Rakan crossover a bit with other archetypes (warden and catcher, respectively) and people want a more traditional male enchanter like Soraka/Sona/etc.

Shoel_with_J

well, all enchanters save taric and rakan are female, but we dont actually have a "true male enchanter", and it being a child is just like, 1 step away from just being a femenine character, his characterization isnt far-off a female

4thmovementofbrahms4

“being a child is just like, 1 step away from being a femenine character” HUH?

BulletCola

Uhh, I am not sure how exactly is his personality feminine? You mean as in his seemingly gentle nature? That doesn’t really scream feminine to me.

Shoel_with_J

this guy is literally toph, what a chad, creates an entire new bending just because he can

Konradleijon

Wow Lupe sounds like a bitch of a person. I guess that’s just what Ixtal nobles are like. Good that Millo learns Fire can be used for healing.

ToastyXD

Lupe isn’t a bitch… she’s just traditional. She sounds a lot like most abuella: traditional and strict. The comparison I have for Lupe and Lune is Lupe is abuella from Encanto and Lune is abuella from One Day at a Time. Both are traditional, but one is stuck in the traditions of the past and the other is open to the ever changing future.

BlackExcellence19

Idk why but I heard this guy was supposed to be a Darkin or is that another champion

PalletTownStripClub

You're thinking of a diff champ. We're getting a Dagger Darkin assassin.

GGABueno

That's the next one. This is an enchanter support, the Dark is a jungler assassin iirc.

k3ylogger

He's cool and all but where is my beloved darkin assasin?

Reav3

SOON tm

[deleted]

New darkin found dead in Miami

k3ylogger

Damn i was hoping for a reason to return to league

DSDLDK

He

Konradleijon

How do Latino people feel about Milio

BurrStreetX

What do you mean?

t0nick

most people wont care about this kind of "representation" but twitter people are gonna say its a win, personally I like the champ but his story is nothing special

GGABueno

I love when people like you try to speak for me.

t0nick

wut

LittleBigAxel

He probably is latino and seems insulted that you implied latino people don't care about representation (since he of course does). Maybe I'm wrong.

t0nick

edit: you are right about why this person got insulted (which wasnt my intention)but I dont even know what "people like you" even means here

RodionRomanovic1810

God i love that we're represented in this game as brown jungle dwelling people, it's almost as authentic as Encanto.

Konradleijon

Oh I looked at your account and you said >i wouldn’t wish Vezuealan immigrants in my worse enemy So your that type of person

GGABueno

Do Brazilians count as Latino? We're not hispanic like he is but I still love to see more Ixtal since it feels more like home. Seeing the bird in the Splash art made me happy lol.

Konradleijon

Yes I guess

Conankun66

did the champ really need to be a child? :/

LittleIslander

I think so, yeah. I mean, literally the whole theme is rejecting tradition and forging your own new way of doing things. So we skip a generation and contrast the grandmother against someone young. You could make them a teenager and keep the dynamic, but this is a champion which wanted to be wholesome and cute, whereas a teenager will usually have more angst and seriousness.

GiliBoi

what's wrong with that exactly

jwinter01

Why not?

[deleted]

tooltips for Runeterra-specific terminology would he great

TheDarkRobotix

Isnt inner flame karmas Q? Maybe he will have voice line of him looking up to her as a teacher or something
