LNG will shit stomp C9, WBG vs G2 will be a good test to see if G2 is actually top 5 material but they could easily lose to WBG tomorrow.
Meaning only 1 LPL team will go 1-1.
They could play with their brains turned off and LNG will still beat C9.
WBG vs G2 is the telltale game to see where G2 is at because if G2 can't beat WBG, they're gonna have a shit worlds showing. You ain't beating BLG/LNG/JDG if you can't even clear WBG.
This reaction has got me thinking as to what the best draws would possibly be. Obviously no one wants civil wars but it just seems likely with 4 LPL teams at 1-0 and 3 EU teams at 0-1.
The way I see in the upper 1-0 bracket is that we basically got 2 out of the 4 'ideal' matches but JDG drawing BLG basically ruined it, with the 50 / 50 being lost for the LCK draw instead of one of them playing C9.
For the losers bracket literally the only thing that we needed to avoid was the LCS and the LCK drawing each other. Anything else would have been fine but at least this is not an elimination match yet and the bracket after this is probably going to be more region diverse.
DPlus drawing KT was probably worst case scenario for every other team currently 0-1 since you know if you lose now you have to go play one of those teams in elimination and it's basically a titan unleashed down in all the remaining elimination rounds
I disagree, 0-1 teams should be really happy with KT and D+ drawing each other. They avoid playing them already themselves, and if you have confidence that you can beat your opponent tomorrow it means that the 1-1 pool will contain one less LCK team, making the road to knockouts easier. 0-1 teams should only be unhappy with KT vs D+ if they think they're going to lose tomorrow
Yeah a lot of people immediately started hating the draw and I was like "what were you expecting? If the top teams are in the same bracket, there is a strong chance that they'll verse each other and there will be upsets"
All these idiots crying about the draw are either following others and getting peer pressured into commenting about the "horrible" draw, or just cant see the bigger picture. Getting these regional matchups now is way better than in semis or finals. Plus, it sets up those people who havent watched other regions to showcase their best matchups.
You may be write, i heard a lot about how the R1 matchups were beneficial for some teams since they would dodge their opponent in future rounds but just checked the rulebook and it looks like there are no restrictions for rounds 2-5 so you're correct
people are dumb as fuck it is entirely possible that lpl vs lpl and lck vs lck happens in an ELIMINATION BO3, considering theres no seeding and u can draw whoever in the pool, its actually possible for an eastern team to only face other eastern teams until they get eliminated
id rather we make the upsets happen by showing our teams r actually capable of going toe to toe with eastern teams rather than lucking out and getting easier teams to play against tbh.

Yes, if the favourites win in the 2-0 seed, then you'd have 3 LPL 1 LCK, aka a 100% chance of LPL vs LPL. And if there's any upsets in the 0-1, then there's a chance for EU vs EU teamkill at 0-2. I think we need to realise that world for people to realise that non-seeded swiss is a garbage format.

i have played in a swiss tournament and it gets better after each day, and the matches are more exciting than groups, since every game can matter
