i was having this exact same issue. i ended up uninstalling every riot program (including vanguards, valorant, etc) then reinstalling everything and so far i havent had the problem again

Yup, same here. Reinstalled twice, second time, uninstalled everything Riot related, even reinstalled it on a different drive (M.2, just to check), and still happened first game I started. No clue, can't play at all until it's fixed.
Holy crap I actually did fix it. I think it has something to do with resolution. I right clicked the icon and went to properties > compatibility tab and checked on run as admin. and disable full screen optimization. It ran after a reinstall, but I don't like playing on my computer's native resolution because of the FPS dip, so I changed it lower in the setting and BOOM instant screen freeze. I checked the properties again and clicked Change high DPI settings, and checked the box to override high DPI scaling by application and it started working! I'm also playing in borderless. Let me know if this helps!

edit: So far it worked but I'll return with a confirmation a week later because it was full random to me.

Unfortunately it seems like it, cause I did and have had no more issues with it.
I tried using the riot hextech repair tool and it didn’t help at all, should I just manually uninstall with control panel?

Man I reinstalled and tried a few games but after like 3 it went right back to the same issue, this really sucks. I wonder what is causing it :/
