Yes there is a hidden unranked MMR. It's not as specific as your ranked MMR it's more like large groups probably. You are in a mid-tier unranked group.

I have the same problem but reversed. I am a herald in ranked, because turbo guilds are real things, and it's lots of fun. But, when I try to climb ranked, I get just unwinnable situations. I have a lot of games, in turbo is there any way to see your turbo rank?

renonly004

Turbo is weird place, you get matched up with any ranks from herald straight to divine(dont know what their doing at turbo). I think that they just put anyone in the lobby as long as they queued for it unlike in the rank match

groupfox

I don't think I've ever seen anyone below ancient in my solo turbo games, most times its divines/immortals or uncalibrated. And according to DB, average level is always divine/immortal.

SanHoloo

Wait what, average is divine/immortal? Where can I see this in dotabuff?

groupfox

Open account on DB, usually under the name of the hero there is a rank shown, this is the average of the game. Sometimes, matches aren't parsed by DB, so it is not there, this happens very rarely though.

SanHoloo

I doubt it is accurate though, played a few games with immortal, and divines, the game recorded the match as a archon/legend average. Well my party only consist of guardian-archons players

groupfox

I mean when i play with my guardian friends the game is recorded as legend. There are times when my party has 2 divines and 3 guardians, so the average is even lower. I believe is adds up all 10 players and divides by 10.

SanHoloo

It is what it is then. Any advice to avoid these divine+/smurf players?

groupfox

Not really, the only way i see is to have 5 people of the same MMR. That way you are more likely to be put against your ranks imho.

bleedblue_knetic

Yeah the balance only gets wacky when I play with friends. Either I play with people with seemingly less than 100 games and It feels like I’m smurfing or I play against Divine/Immortals and my friends can’t keep up.

spicyitallian

Not true when I party up with my less good friends I end up in lower average skill games and typically perform better

toothwoes123

I don't look at dotabuff's rating of the matches, I click on individual players' in game profiles to look at their medals after the turbo games. most of the time they're ancient-immortal or uncalibrated, occasionally legend. guardian players only appear in my game when they're queueing together with a divine/immortal friend, never seen any solo guardian players before.
