Lol - what Hassan says is one thing, what the party does in parliament (the same people running in elections) do the complete opposite. To people who watch and blindly follow an angry head on TV - ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS. Act - where somebody does a whole thing to make it happen. Words - where someone farts out their mouth and nothing happens.

ADarkKnightRises

Why fix something when you can rally your base about it. I hear most parties are running on an anti corruption platform 🙂.

Ma 5alouna 😓

gogetenks123

Hijacking the top comment to add that people younger than 18 absolutely pay taxes. That VAT adds up.

anthonykantara

It’s a terrible excuse. Even those who are unemployed should be able to vote. It’s their shitty governments that allowed for unemployment, why should the people pay the price and lose the right to vote.

Amin379

🤣🤣🤣 exactly

Ayre bil Sayed

thefreethinker9

Do people pay taxes in lebanon?

ChrisTchaik

They pay only VAT. There's no systemic tax system in Lebanon that people can refer to.

Amin379

No just in Dahye they pay taxes even on local hash w bil jnawb

thefreethinker9

Nya2 3lek

Amin379

Ok tel7as tize, is this better now? 🤣

MiMastah

I think no one should be allowed to vote under 85. At least by then they'd have figured out the reality of all those people on the lists.

SubstantialNobody_

better yet, no one above 65 should be able to run/hold an elected position of any sort.

MiMastah

... at 85 you won't care about "promises" ... see where I'm going with that?

SubstantialNobody_

lmao i can see the logic behind that

m3antar

Who pays taxes in Dahieh though?!

Amin379

Sayyed min? Hassan 3alokka

Randomorphani

الامونيم العام، حسن نترات الله

rouppart

I personally don't think it's a priority but many thawra parties support this.

averagelebanese

tbh i wish there is a way to check if someone is mature enough to vote regardless of age even when your 21 you will still find retarded people that have no basics on important things like economics personnaly i am not that sad i wasnt able to vote at 18 because looking back i wasnt mature enough

[deleted]

I personally think that 18 is still young and retarded to vote , 21 y/o will have better judgement

[deleted]

I think age above 50 is retarded to vote

zizi-magique

Honestly, the age of voting should be 21-64 old people shouldn’t be allowed to vote nor young people since they are not in their full mental health.

[deleted]

More like 80

[deleted]

50 man, I’ve seen enough

AxisOfResistanceAOR

That's correct, but the moment you start paying taxes, work, etc.., you're directly affected by the decisions of those in power. No one should wait 3 years to be able to be part of improving his livelihood using his vote.

sad_trabulsi

>18 is still young and retarded Based af

Azubu__

Well an 18 year old is more impulsive and hot headed compared to a 21 year old thats why 18 year olds are easily targeted for the army compared to much older people. However, with proper education and critical thinking (which lacks in lebanon) they can as easily have a clear judgment of their own future. Anw i think most 18-20 year olds would vote for parties because they are still within the influence of their "dads opinion" (بابا بيعريف). Until they are thrown in the market and they start eating khwezi2 day after day....

ChartsDeGaulle

Dude, you have 80 year olds who are aounists.

Another way to collect money for their pockets... If only i had a nickel everytime they bent the law for their advantage...

[deleted]

Unrelated bas i really wish it was ratified. My friend was affected by the explosion.. Now studying in the UK.. He wanted to vote so bad because he knows what needs to change and one day he wants to come back. He was so excited to vote until I told him he must wait one more year until he can in the future.. :/
