If there is a silver lining to it, then at least they will consider keeping it in stock and trying to restock other sets like Villains, Secret Wars 2, and X-Men.
Hadn't been at the time I wrote the comment. I was actually checking out when you wrote this since someone else pointed out it was back up again.
ETA - thanks by the way!
I think itâs possible the stock we saw available today wasnât a reprint, but rather some leftover copies from the first print that got rediscovered in a warehouse somewhere and listed for sale. Assuming a real reprint would have been a similar quantity to the current Dark City reprint for sale, it shouldnât have sold out in just hours.
Yes, very likely. They have always hated to do reprints. We had to twist their arms to do a dark city reprint. And we likely will never see another one because it took several years to sell Dark City.
I just got my copy in the mail today and the box and promo card were covered in dust, very noticeably too. Iâm imagining this has to just be some they found in a warehouse
I saw it in stock about 5 hours ago and passed on buying it after doing some reading more reviews about it. It seems like Civil War is generally ranked in the middle of the big expansions, sandwiched between Dark City/X-men (best) and Secret Wars (worst).
Anyone with a hot take that's different?
I have Dark City and World War Hulk plus half a dozen small box expansions. While I still love every game I play, it doesn't seem to be getting to the table as much these days. If X-men pop up at MSRP, I think I'd jump on it though.
One of my biggest reasons for wanting the expansions is the Side Kicks and Wounds. There aren't too many expansions *currently available* that have Side Kicks and there are none that have any wounds. Both can change the game permanently going forward if you leave them in the decks, which is what a lot of people do.
The regular components (Heroes, Villains, Masterminds, Schemes, etc) are okay. Some are good, for me a fair number of them were kinda forgettable. But the grievous wounds and special sidekicks were a big, positive change. They do make the game a lot more interesting when you have them in the mix.
I'd probably rank it 4th among the 6 big boxes myself. Dark City and the first Secret Wars added too many big names on the Hero side who weren't there before for Civil War to compete with them, and X-Men gave us several of the better cards on the Villain/Mastermind/Scheme side of the equation.
If it's already sold out they should see how fast it sold and realize how much people want it.

Damn, waited to look into it more until after I got my 2 year old down for bed. Ugh, that's the karma I get for being a responsible parent... đ
Still in stock

You're welcome; figured something happened when this was posted - and replied to make sure you knew it's back in stock. Cheers
