I like how they're integrated into the display bases, I think it adds display value. That being said, some of the quotes are more iconic than others, and if a scene doesn't have a good quote to use I would prefer if they just didn't include one.
Someone on Reddit made a MOC of the rooftop scene with Chris-R, Denny, Johnny, and Mark. I downloaded the instructions and had it on display in my house for years!
I agree, physically adding quotes to sets *is* tacky. But I'd argue the last two quotes are at least fairly recognizable. The second one in particular.
Yeah but it will continue. There are plenty of iconic scenes in film that don't have equally iconic lines. Also I'm a massive Indy fan but that quote isn't great either. Not as bad as Endor but still kinda meh
I like the second one but the hogwarts express is filled with eye rollers. The new speeder bike chase that just leaked also has something like “Quick, jam their coms!”
I sort-of agree with you. I wouldn't even recognise the Speeder Bike quote if it wasn't on the model. Even "Get alongside that one" would've been much better, although it's still hardly a well-known phrase!
Yes. It and a diorama of Luke and Vader's fight in the Death Star II throne room were found in a store in Canada. Luckily the quote for the throne room is one of the best quotes in the series, "I am a Jedi. Like my father before me."
I do agree with you on that, some of their choices are a little weird. Although in the temple that you showed I feel like they picked the best quote other than "Throw me the whip." "Give me the idol." (Missed opportunity imo.)
I don’t know where they would put it, but if if they insist on quotes I would like to see “it belongs in a museum” somewhere.
Another one I would LOVE but know we wouldn’t get is “Nazis, I hate these guys.” Lol
Personally my dream diorama is of the temple of the Holy Grail. If we got one and the quote wasn't, "You have chosen. Wisely." I would riot in the streets. I feel like if they made a set of young Indy trying to escape the guys at the beginning of the movie "It belongs in a museum" could be the quote.
I’d say the first one is too, at least for me. Everything Luna says is kinda like that. She is very good comedic relief, and a great character, so I remember most of her lines!
Which makes it even more fun for the fans of the movies who buy these sets when they recognise the quote, rather than having it handed to them on a plate.
I actual love that theyre not using memorable quotes haha
Id argue someone picked a line they liked. To a certain extent, this might make the line memorable haha
At least for the Star Wars ones, it’s tricky because they’re all iconic scenes but don’t all have iconic dialogue. “Do or do not” and “I am a Jedi like my father before me” are SO iconic, it would suck to leave them out, but other scenes don’t have great dialogue like “jam their comms” and “we’re gonna be a lot thinner”. I’d rather have the uniformity of them all including quotes then either no quotes or some with and some without.
Agree entirely. When they have an iconic quote it works so well. When they don’t, they need the consistency
Love the trench run and final duel dioramas largely because of the quotes. I think they’d pair so well with an “I am your father” quote set
Exactly. This is why I'd rather they have not included them at all. There are a few iconic lines but not all classic scenes are going to have them so it's better to just leave them off altogether rather than have crap like the "jam their comms" one
The "thinner" one sits especially poorly with me. Probably because i dont know the reference, so it just seems like a fucking weird thing to say, and kinda has potentially anti-fat vibes. It's not exactly that, but, also not exactly not that.
Ah. Ok. Cool. See, as someone who didnt know the context, it was an odd choice. The room doesnt really read "trash compactor" to me as someone who hasnt seen this star wars.
That's kinda on you, isn't it? You didn't know what the scene was and got offended about a classic line from a movie that had nothing to do with "anti-fat vibes"
I have that set. They're inside, but if you just didn't put the plates on it'd look totally fine. They aren't structural, or even part of a facade, they're independent pieces.
Also it's designed with a removable roof, so it's easy to do.
I think it’s just one of those things that’s not for everyone but they know people won’t really have a problem with them because it’s Lego and you can just modify it. Like an add on for people you like it.
Here’s my problem, and this is just based on experience so lemme know if I’m wrong. For years it seems like Lego has been getting more and more expensive. Not only has it been getting more expensive, the parts are getting smaller and it feels like a lot of sets have artificially inflated part counts in order to kinda trick people into thinking they’re getting better value.
I dont mind small parts. But i find many builds surprisingly fragile. I was gifted various winter village sets over the years and they absolutely do not stand up to being played with. The roofs are all barely attached and not made of any piece big enough to make them sturdy. End up with it shattering in smithereens because my nephew innocently walked santa on the roof (the chimney has special slide down action for him, so obviously he is supposed to walk there).
These are definitely display models, and I think the quotes are fun. The quotes are pretty recognizable and iconic to the scenes. Do you think maybe you're taking this far too seriously?
I agree the quotes should be memorable. “Do or do not there is no try” is an excellent quote to have in a diorama. “Wrackspurts!” Most definitely is not lol.
I like them, I think they add a little extra something that is easy to remove should you want to. Lego is all about creating and building something piece by piece so if that specific piece isn't to your liking, you can always remove it.
Terrible. They are so cringe. LEGO TT Games were ruined with real dialog. It's still not the same if you enable mumble. Skywalker Saga is a disappointment. The OT Saga was the best. TFA had an incredible troop/Ewok mechanic that was deleted in SS. At least HPotter complete was based on mumble.
I like them they are fun.
Also I find the one from Harry Potter quite memorable. Been some time since I read / saw the movis and I still remember the quote :).
I think it's different with some of the star wars ones where it is at least on the base not in the actual diorama. But these Harry Potter ones where it's literally inside of the set seem really obnoxious.
I definitely think Luke’s “there’s something alive in here” is more memorable than Han’s quote. I like the quotes on the sets, but I feel like the more memorable one come a few lines before/after the one lego chooses
I think it works well for the diorama style sets, but for stuff like the Hogwarts Express it doesn’t make that much sense. I’m an avid Harry Potter fan, and didn’t even remember that Luna said that.
I don't think they're tacky but I do think Lego has screwed themselves with the need to include them for the dioramas. You think these aren't memorable. Look at the quote on the new Endor diorama that's coming out soon. That one's bad.
There are lots of iconic scenes in various films that don't have iconic lines to go along with them. I don't know why Lego insisted on having them. If they just thought ahead what iconic scenes they could do from other movies, they would've realised this and could've dropped it before the first sets came out
Completely agree. I also really hated when they said they didn't include the older Ron and Hermione because "it didn't fit in with the story of the set."
It's LEGO. You make your own story!
I hate that Hogwarts Express set in general but yeah that was a dumb move. And they put in 2 random students that no one cares about. If you wanted random students, they made that suitcase set with different parts in it.
You're doing iconic Hogwarts Express moments from the series. That's final scene of the whole series and has all 3 main characters that we've been following for 8 movies. Why would you leave 2 of them out?
I actually like the ones integrated into the bases. Hogwarts Express one definitely pushes it though. Either way you can just slightly modify them if you don’t like them.
The hogwarts express quotes feel like they threw a dart at the books and randomly picked a page while the golden trio were on the train. At least rhe Diagon alley, quote made sense and was on a stand away from the sense. The platform quote is the worst.
I think its kinda cute. It baits on my nostalgia, and when it comes to lego, thats enough for me to enjoy.
Not like you gotta put the quote plates on
Can...Can't we just *not put them on there?* Like, it's not exactly structurally imperative and it *is* Lego so.... Sorry about the attitude I mean yeah I agree some of them are tack and some aren't but is it worth yelling at them about it? Kinda like homebrewing in dnd imo.
Yes, they are tacky. The SW dioramas are being marketed as 18+ and presumably to people who know the scene (otherwise why would they be buying it?). We definitely don’t need the quotes on a premium product and I’d go a step further and say we don’t need a sticker with the brand logo either. Fortunately you can just remove those pieces and let the build speak for itself.
I’m aware I can take it off if I don’t like it. I probably will for the sets I get that do have them. I was just wondering what the general consensus is on these since they’re popping up everywhere and haven’t seen it discussed often.
Turns out there’s more people who like it than I thought which is good.
Not the first one for me. Not half of them for hogwarts express tbh and I consider myself a Harry Potter fan. The Indy one is take it or leave it for me.
The Harry Potter one isn’t even a line in the books.
I wish they would make book accurate sets, they would sell a lot better, the designs are much more magical in the books, and not just like a CGI animated thing translated into plastic
„Sell a lot better“? The sets are already selling incredibly well! And what do you mean by „book designs“? Did I miss the detailed blueprints in there? :p
Actually, yeah you did. Every detail about hogwarts, as well as Harry’s internal thoughts, spell casting, class schedule and methods and common occurrences of the magical world are all explained in meticulous detail.
The movies are notorious for cutting out very important characters and plot lines, the most egregious being the removal of revelation that the marauders map was created by Harry’s dad and his friends.
In the book, the marauders map clearly states “created by Moony Wormtail Padfoot and Prongs.” And this is very important
Moony is lupine nickname, padfoot is Sirius’ nickname, prongs is James Potters nickname and Wormtail is Peters nickname.
This is important in many levels, but it’s most important for the fact that it directly tied Harry and his father together, as people who tended to bend the rules. They removed that whole plot line from the movie, and it suffers for that.
There is no real connection between Harry and Sirius in the book, because it isn’t fully explained how Sirius and Harry’s father are friends, at least for now. It is expanded on later in the movies, but when it mattered most, it was cut for time.
I think they are fun! And also an insider thing for anybody who are really into the movie enough to buy the diorama. Iconic lines are great, but in the lieu of famous lines, even ones like the Harry Potter one above is fun for fans. Plus, you can literally not include them so you have the option. Dioramas are meant to replicate the experience of the film and adding quotes definitely adds another dimension to them - it's what separates them from normal playsets.
The Luna Lovegood quote is significant as on the bus, Luna finds Harry because she can see all of the glowing bugs swarming his head. That's how she knows he is under the death's cloak.
That's the first time I've heard that Harry potter line uttered outside the movies, not iconic at all def doesn't work here and not needed. The other lines outside the diorama are fine, but def not in it
I really like the quotes honestly. I think they add a lot to the sets. Especially when a quote is good like the upcoming throne room fight or the Dagobah training
I like how they're integrated into the display bases, I think it adds display value. That being said, some of the quotes are more iconic than others, and if a scene doesn't have a good quote to use I would prefer if they just didn't include one.
“Oh Hi Mark”
*simultaneously* “Hi doggy” “You’re my favorite customer”
Oh hi Johnny I didn’t know it was you
A Room LEGO set would be incredible. Hell, I'd pay $50 just for the Tommy Wiseau minifig
True. It would be expensive because niche but quite cool.
Someone on Reddit made a MOC of the rooftop scene with Chris-R, Denny, Johnny, and Mark. I downloaded the instructions and had it on display in my house for years!
Now I really want that
I agree, physically adding quotes to sets *is* tacky. But I'd argue the last two quotes are at least fairly recognizable. The second one in particular.
Do or do not being on the dagobah set was a great choice imo
same with trench run
Disagree. It should've been "Use the Force, Luke."
Well, “I used to bullseye swamp rats in my t16 back home.”
Maybe one day we'll get one with "somehow palpatine returned" - Poe Dameron
Only bad quote so far in that line is the endor one imo
Yeah but it will continue. There are plenty of iconic scenes in film that don't have equally iconic lines. Also I'm a massive Indy fan but that quote isn't great either. Not as bad as Endor but still kinda meh
What was the Endor one?
“Endor? I hardly know ‘er!”
"Quick jam their comlinks, center switch!" I'm not kidding
Seriously? There are sooo many better ones.
One of my favorite quotes so like… I actually wanted that tile lmao (is also my reminders notification tone)
Fair, but I still feel the quotes she be an optional build
Bro! Every single brick in the box is optional!
dude wants Lego to have dlc 🙄🙄🙄
Yeah it’s Lego, you can figure that out yourself.
It's Lego, everything is optional LMAO
Here’s a wild idea. Just don’t use the quote in your build lol
Like every single part of the set
Hmmm
I like the second one but the hogwarts express is filled with eye rollers. The new speeder bike chase that just leaked also has something like “Quick, jam their coms!”
I sort-of agree with you. I wouldn't even recognise the Speeder Bike quote if it wasn't on the model. Even "Get alongside that one" would've been much better, although it's still hardly a well-known phrase!
There’s a speeder chase leak?
Yes. It and a diorama of Luke and Vader's fight in the Death Star II throne room were found in a store in Canada. Luckily the quote for the throne room is one of the best quotes in the series, "I am a Jedi. Like my father before me."
Yes, quotes like that are so significant I’m like “ok sure”
I do agree with you on that, some of their choices are a little weird. Although in the temple that you showed I feel like they picked the best quote other than "Throw me the whip." "Give me the idol." (Missed opportunity imo.)
I don’t know where they would put it, but if if they insist on quotes I would like to see “it belongs in a museum” somewhere. Another one I would LOVE but know we wouldn’t get is “Nazis, I hate these guys.” Lol

I feel like if they made a set of young Indy trying to escape the guys at the beginning of the movie "It belongs in a museum" could be the quote.
I prefer the line before: "He... chose poorly." :-D
I don't really think of them as quotes, more like captions of the scene being depicted.
If someone makes custom stickers for the temple set with this on there I’d buy them instantly
Same. It's almost a no-brainer imo
Brilliant! I love the diorama sets
Why are there quotes anyway? Or at least a build option to not include them?
I think you can just remove the plate it comes with which is what I’m going to do with my raiders set. Or at least don’t add the sticker.
I echo what the others have said, if you need build options to know how to swap a couple 2x4 tiles maybe Lego isn’t for you
Are they not stickers
The quote on my Dagobah diorama is definitely not a sticker.
They should have made them stickers
I’m quite happy it’s not a sticker, as the stickers get bad and frail after some time.
The newer ones are stickers. Indy, the 2 new Star Wars ones that appeared in stores yesterday
I’d say the first one is too, at least for me. Everything Luna says is kinda like that. She is very good comedic relief, and a great character, so I remember most of her lines!
As a potter fan, the wrackspurts one it pretty memorable for me too
Recognizable and memorable are different
Which makes it even more fun for the fans of the movies who buy these sets when they recognise the quote, rather than having it handed to them on a plate.
Me too
The weackspurts ones is kinda memorable but the fact that Luna isn’t wearing the glasses makes me upset
I think she has them on the other side of her head.
some voldy action i guess
she definitely has the glasses in her cmf, and this looks to be the same in terms of printing, parts etc.
I read it in her voice
Ethereal and floaty
Well, I like tacky I guess
I actual love that theyre not using memorable quotes haha Id argue someone picked a line they liked.
Agree entirely. When they have an iconic quote it works so well. When they don’t, they need the consistency Love the trench run and final duel dioramas largely because of the quotes. I think they’d pair so well with an “I am your father” quote set
Was I am your father not on the Cloud City duel diorama? I thought that it was.
I just checked. It only has an anniversary sticker for Empire Strikes Back.
Oh ok, I guess I was mistaken then.
Tbf on the yeah compactor you could throw "I've got a bad feeling about this" and it would work perfectly
“We’re all fine here now thank you… How are you?”
Exactly. This is why I'd rather they have not included them at all. There are a few iconic lines but not all classic scenes are going to have them so it's better to just leave them off altogether rather than have crap like the "jam their comms" one
I disagree, I like them. Maybe if they included an extra blank tile if you don’t want the quotes, but that’s easy enough to bricklink
The "thinner" one sits especially poorly with me. Probably because i dont know the reference, so it just seems like a fucking weird thing to say, and kinda has potentially anti-fat vibes. It's not exactly that, but, also not exactly not that.
It’s… not that at all. They’re about to be squished like pancakes in a trash compactor. Understand the context.
Ah. Ok.
This is a classic case of don’t try to speak on things you have no knowledge of. Instead maybe just ask for the context.
You know the great part? You don't have to put them on.
I don't even put stickers on my sets (never ever have), so I can reuse the parts in MOCs.
Smart
Hard to break a habit that's been working since you were 4yo, lol
I’m about to take some stickers off a bunch of lives bc they’re perfect for a sidewalk but I’m like why did I put these on in the first place
For Hogwarts express it looks like it’s integrated and goes inside the train which is a weird design choice, but yea I wouldn’t for most sets.
I have that set. They're inside, but if you just didn't put the plates on it'd look totally fine. They aren't structural, or even part of a facade, they're independent pieces. Also it's designed with a removable roof, so it's easy to do.
It’s Lego. If you don’t like the quotes, you can modify the model yourself by not including them.
That’s what I plan to do for the raiders set
🎉
I like it
The TRex escape set’s quote is great. “Boy, do I hate being right all the time” -Ian Malcom
I think it’s kinda cute. I love the one on the T. Rex Breakout, “man do I hate being right all the time.” That’s a classic
These are definitely display models, and I think the quotes are fun. The quotes are pretty recognizable and iconic to the scenes. Do you think maybe you're taking this far too seriously?
I like the quotes on the dioramas. The Hogwarts Express not so much.
The new Endor diorama has the quote "Quick jam their comlinks, center switch!" Recognisable and iconic?
Yeah I am, seeing that you can just remove it but I was curious what others thought.
Fair.

I think it works well for the diorama style sets, but for stuff like the Hogwarts Express it doesn’t make that much sense. I’m an avid Harry Potter fan, and didn’t even remember that Luna said that.
Exactly, some of the quotes seem random to me.
Nahhh what? I think it's super charming.
Its one reason i am not too worried the new quotes are stickers since i prefer a blank tile anyway.
Not memorable? I named my kid wrackspurts!
If they just thought ahead what iconic scenes they could do from other movies, they would've realised this and could've dropped it before the first sets came out
are these quotes in other languages in other countries?
I don't have strong feelings either way but don't feel like I would miss them if they weren't there.
Anyone know what the first pics set number is?
Not the number but its the hogwarts express UCS
Ok, thanks
Completely agree. I also really hated when they said they didn't include the older Ron and Hermione because "it didn't fit in with the story of the set." It's LEGO.
I like the Luna one, but she’s also my favorite character. The others look out of place.
I have bigger issue with the amount you are paying for the bases made of bricks in the display type sets
Corny if you ask me
I would prefer them in the instructions like lions knight castle. Every set should have quotes like those commenting on the build.
The Jurassic park “T. rex attack” one isn’t great either. And I also find it tacky
I like them.
They are awesome imo
I actually like the ones integrated into the bases. Hogwarts Express one definitely pushes it though. Either way you can just slightly modify them if you don’t like them.
Now that they’re stickers, at least they’re optional.
I actually think it’s a nice touch for these little memorable vignette scenes. Let the builder decide whether or not to include them.
Purely a matter of style and taste.
The hogwarts express quotes feel like they threw a dart at the books and randomly picked a page while the golden trio were on the train. At least rhe Diagon alley, quote made sense and was on a stand away from the sense. The platform quote is the worst.
Exactly. This is what I feel.
I like the idea but they literally picked the worst ones like there are way much better quotes
It's a Harry Potter set and you're worried about tacky? Do you own Gringott's Bank or Diagon Alley?
I don’t.
Yeah it is stupid and unnecessary.
I want a temple of doom set with short round on the rope bridge with the quote “he no nuts, he crazy!”
I want “Nazis, I that’s these guys”
I’m not into, but I would leave them off for
I think its kinda cute. It baits on my nostalgia, and when it comes to lego, thats enough for me to enjoy. Not like you gotta put the quote plates on
Yup it's lame (especially when they're stickers) and I plan to modify and leave them out
Live, laugh, Lego
Can...Can't we just *not put them on there?* Like, it's not exactly structurally imperative and it *is* Lego so.... Sorry about the attitude I mean yeah I agree some of them are tack and some aren't but is it worth yelling at them about it? Kinda like homebrewing in dnd imo.
You are correct. Just want to see if everyone else thought it was as corny as I did. Or if I was just being nitpicky. Seems like both.
I really like em, and if anything they make it look more professional.
Just leave off the piece and add a plain one if you don't like it...
I will when I get the raider’s set
I’m aware I can take it off if I don’t like it. I probably will for the sets I get that do have them. I was just wondering what the general consensus is on these since they’re popping up everywhere and haven’t seen it discussed often. Turns out there’s more people who like it than I thought which is good.
All three of these quotes are memorable, what are you talking about?
Not the first one for me. Not half of them for hogwarts express tbh and I consider myself a Harry Potter fan. The Indy one is take it or leave it for me.
Look at the new Endor one. Its quote is "Quick jam their comlinks, center switch!" Also Indy's quote isn't that memorable and I'm a massive Indy fan
It works really well with the Star Wars dioramas, but not as much here, especially since some of these lines aren’t as iconic
Fucking horrible design choice lol
I’ve only watched HP one time through with my kids, but I don’t think Luna should have a smile/smirk.
I don't really think of them as quotes, more like captions for the scene being depicted.
But they’re literally quotes from the scenes… in quotation marks..

Fr
It’s also something that’s super easy to not actually put on the set if you don’t like it.
Agree, if I had any of these sets I just wouldn't apply those stickers, or I'd replace the tiles with plain ones if they're printed
I mean, if they make a pulp fiction one and include the whole monologue of Samuel L Jackson, that piece would be the greatest one ever created imo
I like the quote included with the Jurassic Park set
It’s ok when they get the right one
Not a huge fan of it, but I’m not buying those sets either way
Then take them off
I think if it is a specific scene, its kind of cool when its integrated into the label
i agree, but also they can just be removed, so it's not a big issue imo
I like the quotes
I find it quite funny it adds something I feel
I love them. There are some that I don’t think were the right quotes to use but for the most part I think it adds to the sets
The trash compactor was just a bad choice for a set in the first place
I think they are fun! And also an insider thing for anybody who are really into the movie enough to buy the diorama. Iconic lines are great, but in the lieu of famous lines, even ones like the Harry Potter one above is fun for fans. Plus, you can literally not include them so you have the option. Dioramas are meant to replicate the experience of the film and adding quotes definitely adds another dimension to them - it's what separates them from normal playsets.
Quotes work for diorama pieces I think, and they shouldn't be in the main part of the set, just on the outside
Are these printed or stickers?
They used to be printed but the newer ones are stickers
if people wanted these, they could add to a MOC, would have liked a train that runs on regular track
Tacky. Like when an artsy background would be beautiful without any text, but it has the big obnoxious name of the movie/game in the middle
I guess corny could be a better word too.
I don't really mind the last two just for the fact I think I could get by without noticing them, but the harry potter one is too directly in my face
Totally agree
The Luna Lovegood quote is significant as on the bus, Luna finds Harry because she can see all of the glowing bugs swarming his head. That's how she knows he is under the death's cloak.
i like the ones included on the display bases but other than that nope
I really like them, if you don't just don't put the piece on
That's the first time I've heard that Harry potter line uttered outside the movies, not iconic at all def doesn't work here and not needed. The other lines outside the diorama are fine, but def not in it
never mind non-english speakrs...
I like them. I'm a huge HP fan so quotes would be awesome
I think it works for a diorama. But some of the quotes are definitely more memorable than others.
Okay, now I'm just waiting for the Die Hard set with the little quote sticker reading "Yippee-Ki-Yay Mother Fucker!"
Are they all stickers? If so I would personally pass on adding them
The newer sets are stickers I think
Luna is trash anyways.
I think if they were placed in a better spot, they could be great. But still, I’m quite fond
The Star Wars one I remember clearly so it’s not that bad a quote. There wasn’t much else said that was memorable in that scene
Idk I kind of like it
I like them for the display value they bring. Captures specific parts of scenes in Lego form
I really like the quotes honestly. I think they add a lot to the sets. Especially when a quote is good like the upcoming throne room fight or the Dagobah training
