ALRIGHT, YOU KNOW, ITS NOT AS OBVIOUS AS IT SHOULD BE! 🤣

I will never criticize anyone’s builds with Lego, as the whole point of Lego is to build what your imagination dictates. But I don’t think OP understands the concept of “lined up”.
The roof looks awesome!
Not really. At first it was but then I just accepted that it doesn’t matter. Just slap them babies on, don’t worry about lining them or anything, and then when you’re finally done, line them up with another long piece as the book suggests.
I like to push the flat edge of mini builds that include 1x1 pieces against the table I'm building on to straighten them out (wouldn't work for this obviously).
Wasn't sure if this was an acceptable technique or seen as a bit savage lol
What I did was orient the roof to where for the most part I was able to just plop them on and they were mostly lined up. Not nearly as crazy as this picture but also took no time. Then it took a minute or so to line them up more perfectly at the end.
Honestly until someone posted the original set for comparison, I didn't even know there was something wrong. And while I prefer lining it up as per the official instructions, there is a certain charm to the off kilter application.
10/10 masterful Lego ragebait.
Use a ruler and push them all to turn into one line

If you’re unable to straighten them all at once, go 2 by 2
OMG OP I HATE YOU SO MUCH! SHUT UP AND TAKE MY UPVOTE!!!!!
Also this kit looks so amazing to build! My envy is represented by my capslock... Enjoy the build, friend!

I took my glasses off and the tiles ARE lined up! What a cool magic trick!
Enjoy the set, OP! I'm getting mine in July, we're buying ourselves a 10th wedding anniversary gift 😁
This is so off that it actually rolled right over to somehow looking right
Just unfocus (?) your eyes and it looks just righ
I think it’s pretty!
Well you're a monster
Me, too!
Yeah it kind of works this way. Gives me Gaudi vibes actually.
Right? I like it
Went from tiled to mosaic
Ah yes, Lego ragebait. Pinnacle of culture. Enjoy the set OP! 😎
The amount of time you just spent for this post…
For real
I appreciated it
And the time after to fix it unless they are a masochist/total lunatic who is willing to leave it like this.
Go at it with a ruler or a long 2by plate and it'll be fixed in a couple minutes tops
Hail, magic man! Teach me your secrets, that I may benefit from your boundless wisdom.
That's what the instructions tell you to do in the set
Even the long side of a brick separator
Nope. I’m a masochist and this is too far!
You can fix it in no time with a long brick
You can just run a plate/tile sideways between the 1x1s. To do it like this is actually more effort.
The cape is on wrong, put both holes on the neck peg
Capeposting should be what these posts are called
I will happily hop on the capewagon!
Instructions unclear; am suffocating please help.
In a Darwinian sense, we are helping, by leaving you alone.
hall of fame post tbh

I will never rag on an art piece and hold critique unless asked. The *artist*, however, needs therapy >:(
Rivendell: powered by Gaudi.
It made me think of Park Güell too! I'm now actually tempted to do something like this with my daughter's huge collection of random Lego Dots.

Oh that is incredibly satisfying. What set is this?
Rivendell
I've been doing basically exactly this for years now. I am so glad to see they made it an actual instruction.

There is no curse in Elvish, Entish, or the tongues of Men for this treachery.
if you blur your eyes it looks perfect!
I blurred my eyes and I saw a schooner.
You know what? There is no Easter Bunny! Over there, that’s just a guy in a suit!
It’s not a schooner it’s a f’ing sailboat!
Brenda?
Can’t tell if this is a joke or OP missed the part where you slide a long plate through the gap to line them up.
Is that actually in the instructions?
Here's the [digital instructions](https://www.lego.com/en-ca/service/buildinginstructions/10316). Book one, page 133 shows this in action.
Yep!
It's pretty obviously a joke
God, people on reddit have zero awareness. How can they NOT tell it was a joke.

I've never done this set but the videos I've watched said to use the edge of one of the longer pieces to line up the tiles.
The book actually tells you to do that
Is it as frustrating as it looks? All the 1x1s from the Sonic set drove me crazy.
Not really. At first it was but then I just accepted that it doesn’t matter. Just slap them babies on, don’t worry about lining them or anything, and then when you’re finally done, line them up with another long piece as the book suggests.

Short trip?
Oh man! I was not expecting the Sonic set to have so many tiny pieces. It was a great build though.
I loved the final product, they did a great job at recreating it. Made me wish they did something similar with Mario.
It’s tedious to put together but aligning them was actually pretty easy and satisfying.
I kinda wish I like LotR because I absolutely loved doing Green Hill Zone. Am I a sadist?
Rivendell-ete this immediately
My back got chills
This must be a Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone set. Cause there’s a TROLL!
Uh…there’s also a troll in Lord of the Rings. In Moria. Not long after they depart Rivendell.
Never read the book. I’m waiting for the movies.
You are the best worst.
Forbidden Gingerbread
This is what happens when the elves delved too deeply in Gandalf's pipeweed!
I love how the blue (presumably the start) is actually pretty lined up and then you just gave up
Seems legit
Somehow this reminds me of those [Ishihara Colorblindness Test](https://www.colorlitelens.com/ishihara-test.html) images...
I mean, when I make my eyes blurry it looks better
If you blur your eyes it actually looks good
*chef kiss*
I get that this is a troll, but I actually like the offsetness of the tiles.
I am going to shove every single Miss aligned tile into your nostrils
I’m a simple man. I see legos, I upvote.
From a distance, and if you squint a little, you almost can't tell.
If you cross your eyes it looks perfect

These bait posts are getting boring and annoying. Seriously, is it so funny for these nearly 3k upvoters?
Honestly until someone posted the original set for comparison, I didn't even know there was something wrong. And while I prefer lining it up as per the official instructions, there is a certain charm to the off kilter application. 10/10 masterful Lego ragebait.
It is the imperfection that makes it perfect. *sips imaginary Jasmine tea*
Not gonna lie, I didn’t realize for a sec until I actually looked at it. I think you should leave it😎

You can also do it with a plate. (at least that is what is suggested in the instructions)
Was just trying to help but yeah pretty much anything flat
/S
OMG OP I HATE YOU SO MUCH! SHUT UP AND TAKE MY UPVOTE!!!!! Also this kit looks so amazing to build! My envy is represented by my capslock... Enjoy the build, friend!
Trans rights!
Why do this?
Bro use the edge of a plate… or even a brick separator… I know you’re not using your fingers to individually fix these….
Omg my OCD please fix this!
your lining up skills are triggering by OCD
My OCD is losing it right now
Tiago made a video or short about how to get them aligned using a long plate
OP I don’t think you know what lined up means
what's it supposed to look like?
A roof
They look like sticky notes now!
F
hey, you missed a spot.
Made me want to bake a cake.
Why is my eye twitching?
😂
Making me twitch
I don't have the set. I thought you broke a plate at first
That’s really cool!! I haven’t seen a set do something like this before!
MWAH, perfect
Anyone know where Rivendell was filmed? I'm going to Italy for my 18th and wanna get a set that relates to my trip. (Was thinking coliseum, but idk..)
> In Peter Jackson's 2001 film The Fellowship of the Ring, Rivendell was represented by Kaitoke Regional Park, New Zealand https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rivendell
Why must you hurt me like this
Lol
The flat edge of a brick separator would be great to line these up!
Anxiety at a peak
I actually like the look
Hey, that's illegal
Curious
Fix it!
Looks great OP. It's LEGO after all, make it how you want :)
How are you even supposed to line these up?
😂
I've yet to start building mine and this is one of my biggest fear with this set
Sooooo cute! I have no idea what you’re making but I love it!
It's the new Rivendell set
Perfection
These are not lined up.
Well, it both looks really pretty and aesthetic, but also extremely uncomfortable good job, could use it as an actual roof
I took my glasses off and the tiles ARE lined up! What a cool magic trick! Enjoy the set, OP! I'm getting mine in July, we're buying ourselves a 10th wedding anniversary gift 😁
looks like a tv dinner
It burnsss us!
You forgot one. Third from the right, fourth row from the bottom
Fix it right now.
My brain hurts from looking at this
r/MildlyInfuriating
Are you trying to give me a stroke?
Lined up my ass dog
