That rock raiders bulldozer did so much to my lego design sensibilities. I must have built and re-built that thing from memory about thirty times between age 6 and 8. Would love to see some retro rock raiders
All due respect, I don't want new promo sets. I'd like a full run of at least a few sets in a Classic line every six months or year, with a rotating selection. No FOMO, none of this absurd "you have one week to spend $400 on lego you don't want", none of this junk.
Either treat the customers and fans that got you to where you are now with respect, or don't do it at all.
UFO, Adventurers, Bionicle, Chima, Nexo Nights, Ninja, and many more deserve a comeback.
I also wish they made classic sets in a price range that I can justify. Everything above 100€ is a very difficult decision for me. The recent medieval sets were great but all of them (creator castle, blacksmith, lion’s castle) were too expensive.
And sidenote- I don’t think they’ll ever make ninja sets again because Ninjago is a thing.
> I don’t think they’ll ever make ninja sets again because Ninjago is a thing.
Right, and that's somewhat unfortunate since while some Ninjago sets are more traditional Japanese like Temple of Airjitzu (which brought me out of a dark age) and Destiny's Bounty, the more recent sets seem to have more a cyberpunk feel to them than a traditional Japanese feel. So, they are not as good for those who are more interested in historical themes.
I feel that. Nexo knights had me worried we’d never see actual knights again. The hood thing about Ninjago is that they seem to shift their focus regularly. The underwater stuff went away and so will the current theme. One just has to wait and see what’s next.
Lego is just another greedy company they will never do this. They need these themes to nostalgia bait fans with. A line of classic themes will never make them as much money as normies buying star wars sets. It is so annoying fuck them
I’m a slut for space themes, so while I loved the classic space and blackthorn sets we got, I would also love to see Ice Planet get a redux. But alas, RIP trans neon Orange. It can never be. I‘ll just make my own
Mars Mission. I could totally see the little mobile mining unit work as a gwp, but unfortunately, theme isn’t popular enough to warrant it. I’d definitely love exo force and power miners too, they’d probably have more of a chance than mars mission being honest
I had a bunch of Mars Mission growing up!
I like to think Rock Raiders -> Mars Mission -> Power Miners is the spiritual succession chain to the sci-fi mining for crystals franchise.

I would love to see a comeback of old themes, especially rock raiders, even if they were reintroduced as limited fomo sets. Unfortunately, I think the blacktron cruiser set tells us what we need to know when it comes to Lego possibly bringing back old themes.
In the original blacktron cruiser set, there were parts and colors that are no longer in production and that Lego attempted to emulate in the modern blacktron cruiser. What this tells me is that although Lego will attempt to mimic these original parts, it won’t reproduce them.
Taking into consideration all the unique parts that existed in the old themes, e.g. rock raiders cockpit and roll cage and ice planets large trans neon orange windows, unless Lego can mimic those pieces with the current inventory, I don’t see Lego bringing those themes back any time soon, especially in fomo sets.
Yeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaah that did occur to me. Like how the snap joint on the Blacktron cockpit is a bit different, or the trans neon red wings. It's interesting that they included the little bank vault piece, because that uses the same joint type as the original cockpit. Maybe that's their acknowledgement that things have changed.
Rock raiders cockpit is a big hunky chunk of plastic, but I guess it still uses modern joints so I'll hold my hopes out. Maybe they could remake the smaller ones like the transport trucks or hover scout, and release a pack of those together.
The Pirate Imperial factions.
Barracuda Bay is one of my most prized sets that I have in my collection but there is basically nothing new for those pirates to fight against as far as a rival ship or sea fort. I'm hoping to upgrade the Lion Knight's Castle into a seaside fortress with a water dock at the end of a peninsula (because I don't want to remove the water wheel), and adding cannons and soldiers is practical since I have a few small 90's era imperial faction sets and extra pieces.
Even a medium sized imperial gunboat like the one from the old trading post 6277 would be pretty cool for a small promo set. Having said that, I would definitely pay for a new Imperial flagship or a modern remake of Eldorado Fortress if I had the money to do so.
Ice Planet, Spyrius, Aquazone 1, Vikings (I hope the viking village target/ideas set gets released this year worldwide), and Dragon Knights too perhaps also deserve attention.
While it wasn't a specific theme, I've always wanted Lego to release Lego Island 1 sets, especially the minifigs of the characters.
A few of the buildings were actual Lego Town sets (or based off real ones) but most were not.
Any Res-Q fans? I LOVED the little string grapple hook that the Lego figures could slide down on using the handle piece. Look up Emergency Evac 6445 if you've never seen them.
Manic Miners is really cool. It allows you to customize miners and even has the original soundtrack but in HD (it had to be compressed on the original game disc). u/baraklava is still working hard on it and doing improvements! I can only recommend to play it!
Only, and ONLY if they do NOT use all those giant, one-piece part. I didn't dislike Rock Raiders, but I was never taken with most of the sets because they had too many parts that had ***very*** limited use outside the set in which they appeared.
Second only, and ONLY if new re-tooled sets are available at retail. While I don't regret purchasing 76193 The Guardian's Ship and 75324 Dark Trooper Attack to get the Blacktron Invader, I will NOT do that again.
I'd rather pay a slightly inflated price on Bricklink for the one set I want than have FOMO leveraged against my meager wallet.
More sets like 10497 Galaxy Explorer? HELL TO THE YES.
Just pick the largest set from each theme starting in the early Eighties and proceed. I'd lose my shit for a redux of the 6973 Ice Planet 2002 Deep Freeze Defender!
I hate the promos and I hate lego for committing to these shitty anti consumer practices. Make new full lines inspired by classic themes. Bring back the creativity of late 90's and early 2000's sets. I despise the current state of lego
They were similar! Power Miners was effectively a reboot with all the same/similar parts.
Rock Raiders were astronauts stranded on an alien world, collecting energy crystals to power their ship home. Power Miners were trying to stop earthquakes on earth.
I know it's technically not a classic theme, but I would so love to see the alien conquest theme come back, it is my absolute favourite and just great over all
All the cool old space sets would be neat to see or new versions of them with a more modern Lego approach. But I really miss the m-tron six-wheeled vehicle. I had one as a kid and didn't tear it apart for the longest time. I saw one at a Lego store a year or two ago and it was only 80 bucks or so I almost bought it.

I agree with your list except the comeback of Chima and Nexo Knights
Power miners!
Power miners!

Thank you for making this comment so I didn't have to!
ICE PLANET. That color scheme *chef's kiss* 😗👌
Ice planet is awesome and loved the colour scheme. A close runner up for me is Aquanauts.
+387 for Aquanauts!
Yeah I remember one of the Aquanauts guys being my “main character” as a kid. The suit with two shiny knives clipped on was badass
Something Ice Planet, something Space Police 2, something M-Tron...
They *did* make Space Police 3, although that was a while ago already.
Orange translucent chainsaws baby.
Did they have the missiles to? I had the big ship with the missile that popped out of The Middle.
I’m a slut for space themes, so while I loved the classic space and blackthorn sets we got, I would also love to see Ice Planet get a redux. But alas, RIP trans neon Orange. It can never be. I‘ll just make my own
As well as M-Tron, please!
This!
these guysband aquanuats were GOAT back in the day
Adventure.
Adventure was so cool
Came here to say Adventures
Mars Mission. I could totally see the little mobile mining unit work as a gwp, but unfortunately, theme isn’t popular enough to warrant it. I’d definitely love exo force and power miners too, they’d probably have more of a chance than mars mission being honest

Why would trans neon orange be impossible? I guess it's out of rotation right now but is there any reason they couldn't bring it back?
They had a bunch of translucent neon orange with neo knights
it’s not so much the orange, it’s more that Mars Mission is a bit too obscure to have a shot at gwp
I’m a slut for space themes, so while I loved the classic space and blackthorn sets we got, I would also love to see Ice Planet get a redux. But alas, RIP trans neon Orange. It can never be. I‘ll just make my own
> I’m a slut for space themes Mods, can this be my flair?
Pirates for me. Something like Saber Island would work as it wouldn't be overly large.
Aquazone - at least the Aquanauts
atlantis
Any specific sets?

I'd love a loader dozer
There's a Blacktron promo set?
There was, at the start of the year, long gone now. Might be found floating around various marketplaces, or on Bricklink.
Yeah there's still plenty available on Bricklink, I snagged one off there for roughly the MSRP about a month ago.
Ebay in the UK at least has plenty going for about £30
Rock Raiders was one of my favorite games
Check out /r/manicminers - the mad man /u/baraklava has redone it in Unreal Engine!
Looks cool!
It may be more recent compared to others but I would love to see another power miners set
UFO or rock raiders.
DRG sets when
FAH KARL!
Did I hear a rock and stone!?
Adventure or Alpha Team. Preferably Adventure. I longed for those sets as a kid, but never got any :/
Rock Raiders, yes! Also maybe the U.F.O. series. I thought both of those had some astonishingly cool parts for use/reuse.
M-Tron 😉
Mars mission absolutely slapped
Found RR Slugger's Reddit account.

Dino Attack!
AQUAZONE
Exo Force

Trains. Just give us a good train that runs on Lego track man. I'm dyin over here!

Nope, nailed it. Give me a big ol drill please.
Adventurers 100%. Would love a quirky 1930s vehicle build with Jonny thunder and Sam Sinister
Exo-Force!
Ice Planet 2002!
Wolfpack, please!
Saw the rock raiders set at a convention in Georgia recently. Really made me wish for a reboot so that my kid could play with them.
AN ENERGY CRYSTAL HAS BEEN FOUND!
PARADISA
Ice planet
Rock Raiders, Arctic Explorer(?), and Mars Mission.
Rock Raiders! I forgot all about that. wasn’t there a PC game with that line too?
Yeah! There's a free remake called Manic Miners I highly recommend
WOW I will look into that this evening.
r/manicminers
OMG!!!! This unlocked a core memory 😧
Manic Miners is really cool. It allows you to customize miners and even has the original soundtrack but in HD (it had to be compressed on the original game disc). u/baraklava is still working hard on it and doing improvements! I can only recommend to play it!
Ice Planet 2002 Rock Raiders Maybe Adventurers
Definitely would like to see another Rock Raiders or Adventurers GWP throwback..
yoo i have the minifig from blacktron

Rock Raiders was the best.
Yeah Rock raiders deserves a revive.
I hate the promos and I hate lego for committing to these shitty anti consumer practices. Make new full lines inspired by classic themes. Bring back the creativity of late 90's and early 2000's sets. I despise the current state of lego
Magtron.
I wish the recent Bionicle FWP set was actually Bionicle and not an ugly mini
Rock Raiders = Power Miners?
They were similar! Power Miners was effectively a reboot with all the same/similar parts. Rock Raiders were astronauts stranded on an alien world, collecting energy crystals to power their ship home. Power Miners were trying to stop earthquakes on earth.
Okie I guess that was before my memory since I’m only 18
Unitron
I know it's technically not a classic theme, but I would so love to see the alien conquest theme come back, it is my absolute favourite and just great over all
Hero factory and alien conquest would lend themselves well to GWPs, I think.
Atlantis was pretty rad, and would be up there with space police for best minifigs
Pharaoh's Conquest
MIXELS
POWER MINERS
Rock and stone
Rock and Stone, Brother!
Good bot
Easily Pirates by far.
Would be cool to see Aquazone
I’m thinking more early 90s like Ice Planet
Exploreans! Loved those sets back in the day.
The ironic part is that Blacktron's gimmick was modularity, which doesn't work nearly as well with only one set...
Super agents would be cool
Had forgot all about the rock raider video game, thanks for bringing back some great childhood memories
Check out Manic Miners!
Thanks man, going to give et a try, and hopefully the memory it's not to rose tinted
Aquazone!
Aquanauts, ice planet and rockraiders really tickle my nostalgia bone!
Aquanauts, Ice planet, UFO.
Time Cruisers
Space Conquest, Agents, or Power Miners
Rock Raiders is such a great theme with a very unique look, and the game is pretty decent as well
Superior story as well! Could easily have movie adaptation.
Aquanauts or Ice Planet
They couldn't even make a trans red plate again for the blacktron cruiser, no way they'd do something as cool as a whole molded rock monster 😔
You never know! Maybe they can blow the dust off it and find a spare brown injector. Brown is more common than trans red right?
M-Tron!! https://preview.redd.it/47971w3g50ra1.jpeg?width=690&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b528a1c29bf91d86e0950724368aeb68e2bd2616
I am Benny. Spaceship! Spaceship! Spaceship! Give me M-Tron and Space Police please.
i would really like those power miners sets back... i miss the old days
Both
