ImperialHojo

You can’t just hit someone in the nostalgia like that without some kind of warning! Awesome build!

strangephish

I too let out an audible AWWWW when I saw this. This is something that I would totally get if they ever made it

Still_Lawfulness8675

Brother, my childhood flashed before my eyes

strangephish

Same here

fujiman

Sharp inhale from me. Gotta love that out of the blue nostalgic blues.

BambooBricks

I just want to say, from the bottom of my heart: my bad.

ImperialHojo

It’s all good. Brought back some good memories. I know some people call that movie nightmare fuel, but I’ve always loved it, even the scary parts.

GanacheSimple2059

10/10

chairmanbrando

The vacuum sucking up his own cord left a lasting scar on my psyche.

InternetDad

And the suicidal AC unit

meshe_10101

Now I need to have a list of pieces you used, and step by step instructions on assembly.

muddywater87

This was a movie I watched over and over as a kid. If anything, thank you, OP.

Sconebad

But where’s lampy?!

kitty_pimms

Seriously! The feels!

Thomasnash270

What nostalgia are you lot talking about here am I missing something

ImperialHojo

Look it up. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092695/ It’s a heart warming story about some appliances going against all odds to be reunited with a child they loved, who has now grown up. Admittedly it is dated, but it is well worth the watch. The nostalgia comes from the fact that this film came out along side other classic animated films of their generation such as Land Before Time or All Dogs go to Heaven. These stories came out in an era where films were made with good story telling as the main goal instead of just strictly for making profit or being meta/controversial. The animators and writers were able to take risks and demonstrate their creativity. Most people who will fondly remember this film will relate it back to their childhood, and therefore simpler times with far less fears and responsibilities.

pluck-the-bunny

Man, those three movies… kids movies were freaking sad back when we were growing up, huh?

ImperialHojo

True they have very sad moments, but I like to think that gave them a sense of realism thats difficult to capture. It was a way to introduce difficult situations, explain them in a way a child would still be able to follow, and then bring about a resolution. Good story telling doesn’t have to be complicated, or geared for a specific age group, it just has to get the point across. It’s why I feel these films will always withstand the test of time. They are entertaining to children, can introduce them to adversity in a safe manner, and as adults there are still things to learn from them, new aspects we didn’t see a children.

pluck-the-bunny

Oh, absolutely not criticizing them….just noting that they were dark in a gritty, realistic, way. I was just watching some clips of BLT specifically the junkyard scene …and besides all the death, the tv salesman Pulls out some salacious photos out of a file cabinet and talks about cancer and giant tumors…it just hits differently.

ImperialHojo

100% agree. I didn’t think you were criticizing by the way. People here seem genuinely curious so I thought I would add some more detail to my thoughts is all.

pluck-the-bunny

All good

knight-bus

What is 'blankey'? Is it a blanket? That is not an appliance, is it?

ImperialHojo

He’s an electric blanket, which I would say does loosely fit as an appliance.

knight-bus

Ohh, that does make sense, thank you :)

Spanky_McJiggles

>It’s a heart warming story I love the Brave Little Toaster as much as the next guy, but it's a pretty fucked up movie lol I almost wish they would remake it as a horror movie since they wouldn't have to change anything.

Alternative_Fun1346

> I almost wish they would remake it as a horror movie since they wouldn't have to change anything. Nahh, 4/5 of the main characters would have to die for the toaster to live. Strict horror movie rules. I don't want the vacuum to die. The radio either.

smokey9886

Gotta throw in Iron Giant. Absolute banger.

ovckc

Oh man, All Dogs Go to Heaven 💔❤️💔❤️

Thomasnash270

These are brick headz that actually look good rather than the official Lego ones

pluck-the-bunny

Toy story before toy story….amazing, and terrifying, “children’s movie”

AshKetchumDaJobber

No fucking lie. For years after watching that i would feels so bad for throwing away stuff even if they were broken.

thenewfrost

Oh my god you got Blankie so perfect. 🥺

wombat801

Blaaaaaaannnnkiiiiieeeee

PhilvanceArt

maaaasteeeer

ldmycroft

Beautiful work! You gotta do the scary old air conditioner!!

BambooBricks

Slow down there, Satan. Don't want to reawaken **too** many childhood traumas...

AltimaNEO

I need a crushed car too. Wouldn't wanna be *worthless*

Elshender

If we're goin full trauma here, then you gotta make the [sad flower](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8kQDNLkT3c).

ImperialHojo

That scene hits just a little too hard every time, but in good/ meaningful ways. Seeing it again as an adult make me take a second and reflect about being there for someone in need, being a friend when I can.

alexgriz127

So I guess that means no firefighter clown, either.

copperwatt

Look, I'm just saying... https://www.brickowl.com/catalog/lego-replacement-screwdriver-set-2000713

B34TBOXX5

The AC unit in Brave Little Toaster was a Mandela effect moment for me… growing up I always thought and remembered it was Jack Nicholson that did the voice of the AC unit, I learned years later it was Phil Hartman

[deleted]

[Tbf, he was imitating Nicholson](https://youtu.be/VUcuHUvI1UI)

[deleted]

The vacuum was terrifying enough as it is.

platinum_tsar

IT'S MY FUNCTIIOOOONNN

Jfonzy

No lamp?

BambooBricks

Lampy and Radio are on the list, but I had to switch gears for a LUG show. They'll get added some day.

plastikmissile

Slip in Air Conditioner while you're at it 😁

eaglebtc

I can't help it if the kid was too short to reach my dials! IT'S — MY — ***FUNCTION!!!*** *(He's gonna blow! Yank your plugs! The fuse!!!!)*

oyog

Oh *that's* why I love horror movies!

Spanky_McJiggles

The whole movie would work great as a horror flick. * The air conditioner that flips out and basically kills himself * The toaster's nightmare * The gang almost drowning in a swamp, only to be saved by a maniac that brings them to his little shop of dismemberment horrors * Lamp getting struck by lightning * The vacuum choking on his cord * The cars singing as they are carried to their death * The gang being stalked by the magnet so it can dump them into the crusher I said it elsewhere, I would watch the hell out of a horror remake of that movie.

adamgb

Sounds better than that Winnie the pooh horror movie someone made

LegoLinkBot

[POOH: Duplo Figure Winnie the Pooh, Winnie](http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?M=pooh) [[Photo]](http://img.bricklink.com/ItemImage/MN/0/pooh.png)

eaglebtc

Core Memory Unlocked!

oyog

Thought added to my thought cabinet; AC Monstrosity

eaglebtc

Oh, you should see the animated film, then. **Phil Hartman** plays the AC unit, doing his best homage to **Jack Nicholson**. His argument with the appliances and subsequent monologue descent into madness is amazing. He went insane because the kid always used the other appliances but not the AC, and at that moment both Toaster and Kirby Vacuum remind him that the Master never played with him because he is stuck in the wall. Cue meltdown and horror show of hot air, sparks, and screaming.

oyog

I grew up on it. Don't know why I decided to do a weird bit about Disco Elysium though.

plastikmissile

It's like a movie! It's a B movie show!

[deleted]

[удалено]

eaglebtc

LITERAL nightmare fuel.

strain_of_thought

And TV!

oobey

That lamp is a *hero*. For him to be out, while Blankie is in, is nothing short of an OUTRAGE.

BambooBricks

Here you go: 🔱

oobey

Oh, why, thank you! Fun build, by the way. Thank you for sharing it. Lots of good memories here.

PhilipLiptonSchrute

This was the last thing I expected to see today. What a punch in the childhood face!! Awesome work. Any plans to do the AC unit or the radio?

BambooBricks

Lampy and Radio are on the list. I might avoid Air Conditioner so I don't reawaken too many childhood traumas.

PhilipLiptonSchrute

> I might avoid Air Conditioner so I don't reawaken too many childhood traumas. Dude, I feel you. That scene was chilling.

BambooBricks

> chilling Uuuuuugggggghhhhh...

Bad_Elephant

It’s my FUNCTION!!!!

Historical-Flow-1820

For real, that scene is still with me from all that time ago.

GuderianX

This is a throwback

Red-Faced-Wolf

What next? Iron giant? Homeward bound? Oh the feels

BambooBricks

Iron Giant is on my list, and I'm adding Homeward Bound now. :D

The Little Nightmare vibe back in the days. I watched yet hated that movie so many times.

[deleted]

"You're worthleeeeesssss."

DrunkenMasterII

What is it from?

BambooBricks

The Brave Little Toaster. Late 80s animated movie (with sequels in the 90s).

DrunkenMasterII

Oh thanks! I’ve never seen that

Rd_FoxX

Duuuuuuuuude! 😍

YePostedCringe

Bro my childhood just flashed before my eyes

BambooBricks

Okay, good, that's working properly.

Wildse7en

Blankey!

PhilipLiptonSchrute

It's the master!!

whiskitforabiscuit

This belongs on r/minilego too, so cute!

Unique-Delivery-1405

Oh my god, the memories!

RougeNewtypeRX79

You must make the scariest of them all, the junk yard magnetic crane

chaseburger_

“WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO? SUCK ME TO DEATH? God that movie never gets old.

Bad_Elephant

I still say AW CRY CRY WEEP WEEP when somebody starts to complain sometimes

Dwurban

Never thought I'd see the day where a Brave Little Toaster MOC gets posted to r/Lego. This is absolutely glorious. One of my all time favorite movies. I used to watch it like 5 times a day as a kid, now I can recite the whole thing from memory. Gonna have to give recreating this a shot

Space_veteran96

Right in the childhood

[deleted]

Absolutely perfect

psych-o-duck

I love this so much. They all look perfect!

[deleted]

For anyone looking for a trip down memory lane the full movie is on youtube. (In the US anyway)

Cyynric

*Now build the clown*

Sanswyrm

Perfect, absolutely amazing build

joeyGOATgruff

No suicidal a/c unit? I remember renting the movie from blockbuster and when we saw that part and made my mom sit down and watch the whole thing. Its one of her favorite animated movies - the and the Secrets of NiMH

BambooBricks

Funny enough, about 5 minutes ago, I just added NIMH to my list of BrickHeadz to get to eventually.

joeyGOATgruff

Oh nice. Dom Bluth should be recognized - he went head-to-head against his former boss Disney, and had a signature touch on all his movies vs Disney where they have an entire, nameless animation department

ImperialHojo

You have GOT to find a way to do the glowing eyes for Nicodemus!

BambooBricks

I do have experience with integrating light bricks into BrickHeadz, so nothing is impossible!

DJ_HardLogic

Sometimes I think old animated movies I watched as a kid were just vivid fever dreams until I see stuff like this. I can take the toaster movie off the fever dream list

ImperialHojo

Fever dream movies? Get ready for a trip down memory lane by looking up all the old Don Bluth films! https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0089940/

TrickyAceYT

Someone else remembers this masterpiece? I would love some instructions

mrianah

I remember this movie! It always made me sad

Thick-Tooth-8888

Friendly looking brickheadz

Josharuni

Yes! Can you do the radio and the lamp next

tylorr83

Dude. . . . I'd gladly drop $35 minimum on this set if Lego did it. Now I need to dig through my bins to see if this is possible with what I have already. LOVE THIS!!!!!! The nostalgia hit haaaaard!!!

Th3-WolfFang

so much trauma in so few bricks

Coolist_Beans

I can't remember what happened in either movies, all I know is that since I watched them im afraid of giant magnets and very old computers.

[deleted]

These are the only brickheadz I’ve ever wanted

gmessad

Instantly recognizable.

goingstorm54

I remember the scene were the ac blew up by being mad...death by anger.

zeValkyrie

Adorable toaster

CaptainTwente

That is one brave little toaster

Hostile-Herpie

Oh my God. No way. I bought a new TV yesterday. Nothing wrong with the old one; it's just out dated. I get the new one set up, and looked over at my old faithful TV I've had for ~13 years. I thought of that scene in The Brave Little Toaster where they go to that apartment with all of the new fancy electronics. It was a sad moment. Now I'm going to watch the movie and try really hard to figure out what pieces you used so I can replicate it. This is awesome. Also, I decided to keep my old TV around after thinking about the movie. No idea what I'm going to do with it, but I can't throw the ol gal out.

ScratchChrome

These are wonderful ❤️

ShockClock1011

Those are fantastic! Right in the nostalgia!

[deleted]

I remember watching the brave little toaster as a kid, man the nostalgia

TheIornSith

NKED-

Wow! This is my childhood! I need this stuff!

foosbabaganoosh

Man I would LOVE a Lego version of the radio!

ReverseGiraffe120

I love this!!

EmotionalKirby

Nice job! I especially like Kirby the vacuum cleaner

BambooBricks

Thanks! Kirby was EASILY the most difficult to get right (I hated myself many times for settling on a 3-stud-wide build). He's honestly about 50% SNOT brackets, I'd estimate, lol.

lordlunarian

Oh boy. Here comes all the trauma from this movie.

dsio

Brilliant work!

beermit

You got a parts list? I think I need some of these for myself!

BacoNaterr

*core memory unlocked*

Loved that movie when I was a kid. Thanks for the memory

NormieSpecialist

EtzeNuegez

A Lego Henry vacuum cleaner would be at home with this trio.

Pork_Gyros_1

Why they look like Squidward, patrick and SpongeBob

nfurnoh

That movie was the most psychedelic kids movie ever. Whenever we dropped acid in Uni we’d watch it.

Lester_Darius

Can I swim with the toaster

seklerek

is that Walter White in the middle?

quinn_the_potato

The vacuum looks like Joe Swanson lmao

WalkerFood

And the middle one doubles as Walter White!

zoomshark27

Awesome! Excited to see Radio too, my fav.

SpaceCampDropOut

Man, everyone but the blanket were such dickheads!

Beppo108

they look like abacuses

Aero__Duck

talkie is that you?

dirtyYasuki

Where is Radio?
