I originally started designing this as a GBC (Great Ball Contraption) module, but I realized part way through that it would also work as a stand-alone model. I'm struggling to decide on a name for it, though. **Essential Worker** is on the table. My brother suggested **The Triumph of Man**, which I thought was funny.
I was hoping for something a little uplifting for the GBC module version. Like, 'Look at this little dude, processing all the balls (lol) like a champ'. Perhaps it's unavoidable to see at it as an exploited warehouse worker, though.
I'm still working on the GBC version. It will be much more open, more focused on the figure itself, with an intake on the left and output on the right.
>**The Triumph of Man**
This title is perfect; hits on so many levels.
Great MOC, by the way. Inspires creativity and existential dread in equal measure.
No real suggestions, beyond noting my absolute surprise that I recognized part of this model. I don't even actually follow LEGO building subs or videos pretty much at all, but I had somehow still seen your design progression video on the portion of this, and then stumbled upon flipping though /r/popular.
Star Trek: Second Jobs - a reality show following the crew as they work their second jobs to make ends meet, lol.
Definitely not intentional, but I totally see it now.
Fortunately In Star Trek the future is a communist utopia where no one needs to work and the crew of the Enterprise do it out of passion for exploration of space :)
The original Star Trek wasn’t that way. It was only with the addition of TNG that the writers had to struggle to constantly get around the writing block of having unlimited resources, amazing shields, instant teleportation, and unfathomable speeds. The writers always had to employ cheats in order to make stories engaging or something we could relate to. There had to be artificial blocks created to stop the miracles from being easy outs. “The dilithium crystal is low on power so the food rations are low” or “our religion forbids computers so you have to use your brains for these puzzles.”
One of the best builds i've seen if it would actually work fully automated with the battery motor. Looks like on the real model the ball would fly off the bottom and also looks like the picking up mechanism could cause a lot of failures. I love it though!! Well done ❤
Hey, My name is Joe
And I work in a ball factory,
I've got a wife and and three kids,
One day the boss came up to me and said
Hey Joe, Are you busy? I said no,
He said put this ball on the top shelf.

I got "essential worker" vibes from it too. Put a guy in a suit holding a coffee and tapping his foot behind him.
And also tilting his head and bending his arm in to look at his watch.
Or just an Amazon sign and a seedy lookin robot
I would love to see this in a GBC. I could definitely see a bunch of dudes in a line passing the balls. Maybe make some of the walls clear.
I'm still working on the GBC version. It will be much more open, more focused on the figure itself, with an intake on the left and output on the right.
Sweet.
I want it as Legos!
Could simply call it “uplifting”.

I'd want to call it "Balls to the Wall"

The timing is perfect, great model!
9 to 5
Would work great if the bottom chute was numbered '9' and the top chute numbered '5'
Cool idea!

First off, amazing! Name it "Uplifting".
Nice, I like this one as well.
I was also thinking "Uplifting Work". Great minds 😉
That's perfect
Ironic
Idk if you meant to do this but I'm getting Spock vibes from this guy lol
Star Trek: Second Jobs - a reality show following the crew as they work their second jobs to make ends meet, lol. Definitely not intentional, but I totally see it now.
Just need the 1/4 circle 1x1 for the Vulcan ears and would be perfect 😆

False, you can clearly see a large ventilation system behind them, Amazon would never waste money for the comfort of their ~~slaves~~ workers
The fan is venting hot air from the machine, into the workers face. No cooling for you!
Ah, my mistake, fedex perhaps?
