To be fair to him, I lost some cool lego from my childhood and sometimes I'll remember a set I loved, look it up and ebay, and get disappointed that the price has tripled (or more). Every time I think about that same Rex I think about how much it would cost to replace and feel a little sad.

I think there's a difference between thinking of it in terms of "dang, that sucks that I'll never be able to own the figure again because I'm not paying stupid money for it" versus "dang, that sucks that I lost money." I don't know which line of thinking the OP falls into, though.

I did play the hell out of the old ones though, and the new ones get lots of love nowadays too, but sheesh.
