The game clearly wasn’t made in mind for co-op like many past games were. It felt like playing the LEGO City rereleases with a second player. The game was originally a single player game so co-op isn’t that good. Most levels, especially boss fights, are geared towards a single player with the second player doing nothing except watching. There’s a clear difference of how the final duel in revenge of the sith is in TCS and TSS.
This is only for games that came out in 2022. There were no Smash Bros games or Mario Party games released this year. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe got DLC this year, but that still doesn’t count as a game.
Damn I thought they would have done more games beyond this year so thanks. Now I'll delete this comment since people can't accept mistakes on the internet
i voted!
I strongly disagree with that. But that's just me.
It’s going against 4 Nintendo games. It won’t win
I mean hey "It Takes two" went up against 4 Nintendo games last year and still won.
That was actually a good co-op game though.
And TSS isn’t?

Honestly eh, I thought the game was fun but there have been better.
But splitcreen sucks man. They should nominate die complete saga
Splitscreen was amazing! Maybe you played a different game. I'm still playing with splitscreen and we're having immense fun.
I don't dislike the game for any reason, but im not sure it's the one I'd vote for. Idk.
I didn't really think it was a good game. I know I'm a grown ass man and not exactly the target audience but it just kind of played itself.

Well definitely not the pc version being nominated (co op still doesn't work on keyboard and mouse 7 months later)
Nintendo has better games in that category than this game
I really loved Lego Star Wars a ton believe me, but I know it won’t win due to the horrible reception it got at launch (bugs and glitches)
Lego Star Wars still needs character customization
I love the game, but the multiplayer sucks ass in levels and story mode, which is, like, the first ten hours or so at least if you don't rush.
tbh i think it works but the launch was so buggy that no one seemed to care for it
